Event stack thumbnail different to contents of event
I have had an iPad for about 4 months and have imported about 4000 photos to it using the camera connector kit.
Usually the events tab displays events as a little stack of thumbnail images which you can reverse pinch to peek into that event, the top most image being the first one in the event.
This use to be all great but recently about half of my events have an incorrect stack thumbnail image. For instance the stack looks like one event, but when you go into it, it is the wrong event. If you peek, the top most incorrect image immediately changes to a different correct image; once you let go the image changes back to the incorrect one.
Has anyone had this problem before?

I guess that no one has an answer. I am experiencing the exact same problem as you. I just updated to 4.3.4 on my iPad, and most of my photo events folders, have the wrong thumbnail. Also, all my photo events have been renamed to something like 129IMPRT, 130IMPRT ect., instead of the date of the event. I am using a PC and iTunes.

Opening iPhoto Event in Thumbnail view - not full screen
When I view all my 'Events' in iPhoto I see them as thumbnails. It used to be that when I then double-clicked on a particular Event I then saw the contents as thumbnails as well. Now when I open a particular Event it goes straight to a randomly selected photo on full-screen. I have to then scroll through up to 200 pictures to get to the one I want.
I have obviously done something stupid - can anyone offer any help so I can get back to how it was before??

iCal has dropped a monthly event for the previous four months....... why did it disappear? and where is it? It was the same event but a different day each month.
I installed this same digitizer in my T|X some weeks ago. Some discussion of my experience may be found in this Usenet posting and subsequent thread.
The stock digitizer in my T|X had always had some significant alignment issues (for which PowerDigi was able to compensate very nicely) and sensitivity which was uneven, but which usually required a heavier touch than I liked.
Eventually, it began to develop a “dead spot” near the upper left. My T|X was under warranty, so I probably ought to have sent it in to Palm to be repaired, but I wasn't willing to be without it for the required amount of time, and I've heard enough reports of other T|X owners getting unsatisfactory results this way. I'd heard enough good reports about the PDAPARTS.COm digitizer, that I decided that the only acceptable way to repair my T|X would be to install one of those.
After however many weeks it has been, I am still very pleased with the results. It continues to work flawlessly; it is much more sensitive, so it doesn't require nearly so heavy a touch, and I very much like the hard feel that it has, compared to the spongier feel of the stock digitizer.
My wife's T|X still has its stock digitizer, and it has so far not shown any of the same problems that mine did, or for which the T|X has become notorious, but the feel is noticeably inferior. She's content with it the way it is, but I think that if I were to ever buy another T|X for myself, I wouldn't wait for the stock digitizer to fail. The PDAPARTS.COM digitizer is simply superior in every imaginable way; and, in my opinion, a T|X with the PDAPARTS.COM digitizer installed is sufficiently superior to one with the stock digitizer (even if it isn't defective) to be very much worth the expense and trouble of installing it.

I had photos from MobileMe organized into different events. When iPhoto made a MobileMe event (when MobileMe ended), it took all of those photos out of the other events and put them all together in the new "from MobileMe" event. Is there any way to reverse this?

We are working on use case where in we would like to publish an Event from an ADF application . We would like to subscribe to the same event deployed on different domain/Servers than the servers on which ADF Application deployed. We would like to get more information on the configuartion of Foreing JNDI for the Business events for this use case. in the documentation it was mentioned, it is possible but not much details were provided.

My analysis:
It's obvious that the row lock contention wait time is huge, and this direct me to find out SQL stmt, causing this.
all the SQL statement was SELECT ....... FOR UPDATE stmt.
I was also able to find out locked tables.
My tuning idea:
1. I'm thinking to reorganize hot tables as well as their indexes, but by instinct it seems to not give so much value to avoid the huge row lock wait time.
2. I'm also seeing if I can reduce the number of rows per block, by increasing PCTFREE and diminishing PCTUSED, so the contention will spread over many blocks instead of one heavy block.
Question
As SQL stmt related to those locked tables are select ... for update, how could I tune this kind of stmt?
Does someone have other idea to come up with this row lock contention?
Tanks for your effort and helpTaking another look at your suggested function based index, it depends on the data type of the DEV.POS_FOLIO_ID.POS_FOLIO_ID column. If the column is defined as a number, and it is a primary key, there will already be a usable index on that column.
Yesterday, I wrote this: "Once I understood why or how the sessions were trying to insert duplicate primary key values, I would try to determine why the average number of seconds for the wait event is almost 3 seconds (maybe a timeout)."
After fixing the formatting of the top 5 wait events (total duration unknown):

What if the reason for the 3 second average wait time is due to a timeout. I performed a little experiment... I changed a row in a test table and then made a pot of coffee.
In session 1:

Back in session 1:

C1<=100;I have now modified the first 100 rows that were inserted into the table, time to make the pot of coffee.
In session 2, I try to insert a row with a primary key value of -10:

10);Session 2 hangs.
If I take the third 60 second snap of the system wide wait events as the zero point, and the 11th snap as the end point. There were 149 waits on ENQ: TX - ROW LOCK CONTENTION, 148 time outs, 446.62 seconds of total time in the wait event, with an average wait time of 2.997450 seconds.
Rolling down to the session level wait events, SID 208 (my session 2) had 149 waits on ENQ: TX - ROW LOCK CONTENTION, for a total time of 446.61 seconds with an average wait time of 2.997383 seconds. All of the 149 waits and the wait time was in this one session that was locked up for the full duration of this time period because session 1 was making a pot of coffee.
Rolling down to V$SESSION_WAIT (sampled roughly 4 times per second): At the start of the third time interval, SID 208 has been in the ENQ: TX - ROW LOCK CONTENTION wait event for 39 seconds and is actively waiting trying to execute SQL with a hash value of 1001532423, the wait object is -1, wait file is 0, wait block is 0, wait row is 0, P1 is 1415053316, P2 is 196646, P3 is 4754.
At the end of the 11th time interval: , SID 208 has been in the ENQ: TX - ROW LOCK CONTENTION wait event for 483 seconds and is actively waiting trying to execute SQL with a hash value of 1001532423, the wait object is -1, wait file is 0, wait block is 0, wait row is 0, P1 is 1415053316, P2 is 196646, P3 is 4754.
Rolling down to V$LOCK (sampled roughly 4 times per second): I see that SID 214 (session 1) is blocking SID 208 (session 2). SID 214 has a TX lock in mode 6 with ID1 of 196646 and ID2 of 4754. SID 208 is requesting a TX lock in mode 4 with ID1 of 196646 and ID2 of 4754.
So, it seems that I need a faster coffee pot rather than an additional index on my table. It could be that the above process would have found that the application associated with SID 214 was abandoned or crashed and for some reason the lock was not released for a long period of time, a little less than 10.44 hours in your case.

Has anyone else experienced vanishing content in event folders?
iPhoto has been acting strange lately. Events are beeing emptied of content and just show a gray palm tree in the event box. The title of the event remains, but the photos are gone. This is the second time this has happened since the last update. Has anyone else had this problem with iPhoto?

And again, Lightroom, Aperture, iPhoto and Picasa are not editors, but photo managers, and using all four makes as much sense as using four address books. They are also not the same type of app as Image Tricks and Photoshop.
As to all your apps working as desinged, it should be noted that only Aperture and iPhoto are designed to work together, neither are designed to work with Lightroom or Picasa, and the latter two are not designed to work with either each other or the Apple apps.
My point is: if you have been using all these apps on the same set of files then it could very easily explain what you're seeing in iPhoto.

Subcribe a Portal User Group to content change events on page?
Another developer at my shop has created a custom routine that programmatically subscribes the given user to content change events on a page. At the heart of their custom routine are the following Oracle Portal API calls:
portal.wwctx_api_private.set_context( v_user );
portal.wwsbr_app_approval.subscribe
p_object_context_id => v_siteid,
p_page_id => v_pageid
...where v_user is the account we want to subscribe for notification of content changes on the given page.
I have a need to extend this to allow subscriptions of Portal User Groups (PUGs) for the same content change events. It is not acceptable to statically subscribe the PUG membership, because I do not want a situation where today I subscribe all the members of group X, then tomorrow the membership of group X changes, but the list of subscribed users does not change automatically with the group membership modification. I could just as well manually subscribe each group member without going through the hassle of coding a modified subscription UI and backend routine to handle groups.
Any suggestions?

Also, publish and subscribe solves a particular set of design issues and allows for a certain degree of flexibility of usage, however, I don't see any built-in support for the User Groups that Portal provides for assigning basic page permissions. It's the group support that I'm interested in...and I don't want to have to create duplications of groups outside of what I already have. I don't want to have to write an entire application infrastructure to support outside group membership maintenance just for supporting subscription notifications. This should have already been built-in to interface with the existing Portal page permissions group framework. At our shop, a lot of effort has already been put into setting up and maintaining these built-in groups and we should be able to re-use them for something as brain dead simple as subscription notification.
I've already given up and opened an enhancement request "TAR" for this.

When I enter an event I select e-mail for the alert and select my e-mail address from the drop down box. However, the event shows a different e-mail address than mine. I can't delete this wrong e-mail address from the event or from the drop down box. I do seem to get the alert in my e-mail, but don't know if the other e-mail is also getting my alerts. How can I resolve this? My wife has an iPad and syncs iCal through iCloud. Could this be causing the problem?

Quit iCal, open Address Book, and click on your card. Then select Address Book>Card>Make this My Card.
If that does not fix the problem, then delete and recreate your card, and once again make sure to designate it with "Make this My Card. -
Enq: ST - contention wait event
Hi,
At one of our production database I am getting enq: ST - contention wait event at the Top 5 Timed Event section of the AWR report. I have checked with Metalink (Doc ID:974863.1), where I have been suggested to migrate to LMT. But all the tablespaces at the database are in LMT. It would be really very helpful if someone can explain the occurance of such wait event and the way this can be eliminated in future.

Database Version: 10.2.0.3
OS: Solaris 10

I am running Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.5.0 - 64bit Production on RHEL5.
I changed my db parameter PARALLEL_MAX_SERVERS from 10 to 20. Now, most of my queries are hanging due to this enq: PS – contention wait event. I looked at the req_dgree from the V$PX_SESSION and it is too high.
I reduced the PARALLEL_MAX_SERVERS back to 10 and still the queries are still hanging and the req_dgree still too high.
How can I fix this situation?

PARALLEL is NOT magic solution to all/every performance problem.

I have a lot of (about 50) controls (numeric, boolean) on my front panel. If a "Value Change" event will be fired by any of them the same event case shall be executed. As I do not want to add all 50 controls to the same event case manually I am looking for a way to do it at run time. Additionally the VI is still under contruction, i.e. controls will be added and removed.

collect all your control references (you can use the FP property for it) and create a user event. Connect this user event to your event structure. Now you have one event case for all your controls. See the attached picture.

In this local class i've declared a method called HANDLE_EVENT for event ... of class Z-CLASS...
i implement this method
In the modul pool i put the set handler WITHOUT FOR ADITION
there is another function (launched through XI) that call the method of the ZCLASS that raises the event
but i'm not able to link the raise of this event to the method HANDLE_EVENT of my local class in my modul pool

I think, what you want is not possible, cause your local class is not "alive" during the call of your zclass.
To catch the event with your local class, you need to create an object of that class, that is available in your Zclass Method, raised by XI.
