Events at BW side

I dont have any idea on events at Bw side. So please let me know How to create an Event in the BW side?

Hi Satish,
Prior to Process chain, Event chains are used for loading the data. you can create the events in SM62 and you can activate these in SM64. Please check once again. I can't remember exactly( Between SM60 and SM69).
What ever i mentiioed may be those transactions are correct.

Raise event from client side

Dear Experts,
   I would like to raise a event to SAP server by using sapevt.exe.
1. I have put sapevt.exe and DEFAULT.PFL in a special folder in the server and shared it.
2. I have created a bat file with following commands and distributed it to client stations:
   net use z:
sapserver\sapevt
   z:
   sapevt EVENT1 pf = DEFAULT.PFL
   net use z: /d
   exit
3. When I run the bat file in client stations, event is not raised.
   Log in dev_evt:
   Trace File of External Event Raiser (Level = 0, Append = 1)
   EventID: EVENT1
   SAP message server host: sappserver
   SAP message server service (old): sapmsPRD
ERROR ***: MsAttach (host=sappserver, serv=sapmsPRD), rc = -100
   But when I direct run sapevt.exe (sapevt EVENT1 pf = DEFAULT.PFL) in server side, event is raised successfully.
Please advice how to fix it. Thanks.

Do you have the entry sapmsPRD in the services file on the client stations ?
PS : Your technique is quite dangerous : Everybody will be able to trigger events...

Catching Events from Com side using ActiveX bridge

Hi,
I have packaged a java swing application into an activex control using the ActiveX bridge. I now need to be able to fire events from my java code which the com/VB code needs to be able to trap. The event handler on the com side looks like this: function(BSTR param1, BSTR param2, BSTR param3), but the java event model only allows passing the EventObject in the param for the introspector to work. How do I fire an activex event that the com client is able to trap??

Thanks, beders. Your solutions above works, although I found the only way to install the SDK was to the use following URL rather then the one beders suggested:

This SDK is the full one and not just the Core SDK so may take a little longer to download.
You also need to ensure that the location to cmd.exe (ie. C:\WINDOWS\system32) is on the path variable otherwise SetEnv.bat fails when it calls cmd.

I am using iCal 8.0 and I don't know how to include event times along side the event in the monthly view. help. :)

I am using iCal Version 8.0 (2026)
I have read through responses to a similar question as I am posing, but the recommendations that I've found don't seem to be in the iCal preferences/ general tab.
Two great solutions that don't seem to be in my preferences winder are:
1. A respondent recommended checking the box 'show event times' on the general/ preferences tab, but that box does not appear in my window
2. A second response i found recommended that 'I check box for 'Show time in Month view.' in Under General/ preferences, but that option is not appear either.
Any other thoughts please

The grouped yellow pages are a Section (Chapter).
If you have logical divisions within your documents that fall on page boundaries, do the sensible thing and actually divide them with:
Menu > Insert > Section Break
…where you want the separation. Both before and after.
Moving or removing individual pages is like ripping pages out of a book and/or reshuffling them. It makes sense to relocate or remove entire sections, which are pages connected by their content, but not the individual pages within those that have continuing text both before and after them.

Printing multiple PDF with single event at client side

Hello,
I have a requirement where I must print multiple different pre-populated Adobe forms (e.g. populated with a name/address) from ABAP WD. These need to be printed at a client side printer, and they don't want to see them first (that would be easy). Just print multiple forms from a single button click.
Has anyone had this requirement? My main question is not how to pre-populate the pdfSource, but how to have the user prompted for a printer 1x and then have the forms sent straight to the local printer without displaying.

Sorry to 'hijack' this thread but i was trying to do the same thing but failed EVERYTIME!!!
When i tried to merge just 2 multiple-paged(abt 20+ pages each) pdfs into one, it simply crashed Preview at the end of the process! Tried 'Save', 'Save all' & 'Print as PDF' but all doesn't work!
I tried Combine PDF.app & Automator.app and the same thing happened. The combining process CRASHED the app i used...

As a user of flash player, can i disable the Throttling event introduce from flash player 11.2? I am using a pc and not using phone to play flash game, it hang when the screen not in focus or minimize. Thanks.

Events occuring out side an application

Hi,
I am trying to build a site filter like application. Somebody go to any
unwanted urls from a machine through Netscape or IE, an application running
on THAT MACHINE should be informed. Is it possible to do in java.
The user cannot do any settings in browser for this tracking, because if
one onkws about the execution of this program, he may stop it. And the
application can install in all machines not in a single centralized
machine(Not like a proxy).

You have a couple contradictory statements, I think. You want platform independence, but there's no way that you can make a Java app (or any other app) work in conjunction with a web browser application without working with the APIs that the browser may provide to you add plugins or other components. So in this regard, it doesn't matter what operating system you are on, as much as it matters entirely what browser is being used. It really has nothing to do with Java, cuz the API a browser provides is going to be a C++ API.
The other ways to do it would require low-level programming which Java cannot do.
If you want true browser and OS independence, then the only way is to use a separate proxy server which forces all requests to go thru that proxy. I suppose you can install proxies and firewalls on all the PCs, but the main reason that you would not want to do this is for maintenance and upkeep reasons. Say you have a new set of sites you want to block or allow access to. Then you need to go to all the PC's and update them separately or hope there's some kinda of scriptable way or auto update mechanism. If you have a central proxy, there's only one place to update and all users are affected.
So really, what you are trying to do is just not worth doing for several reasons. As mentioned, there are several products, commercial and free, for proxy servers. You could write one in Java.

Need Suggestion on handling events

I have 2 caches . The 1st cache is populated with more than million records .The 2nd cache has a real time feed populating the cache and updating it quite frequently . I have a requirement of doing some calculation on 1st cache based on updates happening in 2nd cache.
What is best way to handle the events happening on 2nd cache? Should i use backing map listeners or handle the event from client side and run a entry processor to do the calculations on Cache1 ?

Use an EntryProcessor on Cache1 (positions) to perform the updates to Position objects. Position calculations are usually pretty simple, so the use of an EP is probably fine. You'll want to gather the list of target position keys before doing the invokeAll() call, so all the affected Positions are updated in parallel.
As to how you trigger the EP, a listener on cache1 would be one approach. Make sure the caches are running on separate services to avoid re-entrancy issues.
We use the EP approach for our Position updates and find we can process many tens of thousands / second using EPs.
You'll probably also want to re-use the above ideas in order to maintain an audit trail, as this would normally be in a separate cache (i.e. not in the Positions cache) and written-behind to a db.
If your price-change notifications are so frequent that they exceed your ability to process them (even using invokeAll on EPs), then you might want to look at some form of async processing. The CommandPattern in the Incubator is one such example; of course you could also roll your own.

Delete fotos in iPhoto events not used in Foto Book

the problem with this issue is that there is no "indicator" in or on the pictures in the event the foto book was made from which says: this was USED in the foto book/project and this was NOT USED in the foto book/project. So, how to delete those in the event which were NOT USED?
If you invoke all the fotos of the event on the side of the foto book selection screen those you USED are flagged, the one NOT USED are unflagged, but the iPhoto does not allow at that stage to delete multiple images by using the Command click method suggested when you are viewing the event pictures.

Do you want to must remove the unplaced pictures form the book or from the library? If it's from the library and you don't use the ratings try the following:
Bring up the unplaced photos tray, select one at a time and give it a rating (this works as long as you don't use ratings). Then create a smart album with the criteria Rating is X. All of the photos with that rating will be displayed.
Select them and use the key combination Command+Option+Delete to move them to the iPhoto Trash bin. Then empty the trash bin.
Warning: This will delete the photos completely from the library. Make sure this is what you want because they'll be gone for good then.

Arranging events in chronological order

I am experiencing difficulty in arranging events in chronological order. For instance, if I type in an event for 10 am on a particular day, and later type in an event on the same day at 2 pm, the 2 pm event appears ahead of the 10 am event. When I attempt to drag the 2 pm event below the 10 am event, most of the time it returns to its previous spot, which is before the 10 am time. Sometimes it works; most of the time it does not. What am I doing incorrectly? Thanks.

I tried to recreate your problem but couldn't.
When you enter a new event, double click on the day, enter the name and time of the event on the side panel that pops out.
Each time you double click on the day and enter a new event and its time, it will set itself in chronological order.
It may have to do with how you are entering events.

Events from C# Control ? Urgent !!

Hi all,
    Is there any way to handle events from a C# customcontrol in ABAP?
    When I used ActiveX controls, it was easy - just check by EventID in DISPATCH, and RAISE EVENT that would then be handled...
    But now, with C# controls, events are "delegate" functions, and I just can't figure out how to make ABAP subscribe to this tricky kind of event...
    Please, help!!!

This article will explain how to declare and use the C# events in your application as Event Control. You can design your event control in couple of mints, making your event as control will be easy for GUI developers to implement events in client side.
Here are the steps:
Create one Windows Application Project
Add Component Class using "Add New Item". This is going to be your Event Control.
Declare your delegate in your Event Control under your namespace
Now declare your event inside your Event Control class.
Also add the FireTheEvent method to fire the event.
Build the project.
Go to Form, then ToolBox, add the Event Control using Add/Remove Items menu by right clicking on the tool box.
Drag and drop the new control. Using the property window of the control you can easily implement the Event method in your application.
Call The FireTheEvent method in your button click after adding new button to your form.
Run the application and click on your button, you should see your Event firing.

UIX event question

I've a page with 2 frame : frame1 and frame2
I want that when an event is generated from a page in frame1 (ex: submit a form), the page to load in response of this event (ex page that contains the riepilog of the choices) must be loaded into frame2.
It's possible to do this type of action? if it's so how can I do this.
