Events in Info-package group

Hi Friends,
Will an event that is part of the subsequent process in an Info-package, be triggered, if the same info-package is included in an Info-package Group..?
I have an IPG that has 5 info-packages. The IPG has a subsequent event. But my 5 info-packages also have subsequent events. Will these events also execute when the IPG is run..?

How to Schedule the info package groups?

To scheudle the info package group is it enough to shcedule at infopackage group level or do I need to schedule each info pcakages?

You can execute at Group level.
Plz find teh steps for creation and sheduling of IP Group,
1. GO to Adminsitrator workbench RSA1 > Infosources
2. Create your infopackage do not select option but select data load
immediately get out of infopackage prior to going to step 3
3. Click on icon show infopackage groups
(icons are update tree, monitor, display node log, search in subtree,
legend, and show infopackage groups)
4. This will create another window. Now you can create your infopackage
groups. Right Click on folder (infopackage group)
enter long description name, go back to your infopackage and pull it
to the infopackage group
(it's a drag and drop to long description name you just created and
remember it will be on the bottom of the list most likely)
5. Click on infopackage group and its time to select which on to run
first and time your going to schedule it.
INFOPACKAGE
a. Execute package should have a check mark without it itwon't run.
b. Start Sequence (depends on which one you want to run
first for my example its) 1
c. Selection exists (is created when you pull youinfopackage to group)
d. Maintain infopackage is a pencil and will take you therefrom hereInfopackage is your name from the infopackage you pulledover
e. Data type (is created when you pull your infopackage togroup)
Check whether contents was updated without errors beforeyou start next request
(I highly recommend you check this because if will stopyour process if a infopackage fails)
f. Delay until the start of the next request (not necessaryto check)
g. Technical name
Schedule
Selection Options: Immediate (now)Date time (preselected time) if youcheck period and period valueshere it can be run eachday or specific dayAfter job
After event At operation mode

Creating Info-Package Groups

Hi All,
We are running a Job through Process chain. But due to some bug it is taking 4 Hrs to complete. We tried executing the Info-Packages manually. It completed with in 30 Mins. So we are planning to create IP group to trigger that Job instead of through Process chain.
Can you please explain how to create the Info Package Group and how to include info packeges in to the IP Group.
After creating IP group we have to schedule a Job to trigger this IP group which inturn triggers the Info packages.
If possible please explain the steps for the above process.

Hi,
Procedure to create InfoPackage Group
Go to InfoSource tree in modeling of the Administrator Workbench and choose in the standard toolbar of the right area of the screen Show InfoPackage Group.
On the right-hand side of the screen, you will see the InfoPackage group tree.
Highlight a node of the InfoPackage group tree and create a new InfoPackage group using the context menu (right mouse click). This is always inserted underneath the highlighted node.
Select an InfoPackage (in the InfoSource tree in the middle area of the screen) that you want to transfer to the InfoPackage group and move it into the InfoPackage group you want by using drag & drop.
You can assign as many InfoPackages as you like to an InfoPackage group.
InfoPackages with the same selection conditions, same assignment for combination of InfoSource / DataSource / source system, same data type (transaction data or master data), and same data target cannot be assigned to the same InfoPackage group.
Alternatively to the above procedure, you can also create an InfoPackage group in the monitoring view of the Administrator Workbench. However, in this view it is not possible to insert InfoPackages into the InfoPackage Group.
You have created an InfoPackage group and have inserted InfoPackages into the InfoPackage group. You can now
Scheduling an InfoPackage Group
Choose Show InfoPackage Groups in the InfoSource tree of the Administrator Workbench Modeling, or choose the InfoPackages view in Monitoring of the AWB.
Select an InfoPackage group from the InfoPackage group tree and choose Schedule.
You arrive in the scheduler (InfoPackage group maintenance) with the InfoPackages and Scheduling tab pages.
Select the InfoPackages you want to load.
By default, all InfoPackages are selected.
On the tab page InfoPackages, number the InfoPackages that are assigned to the group according to the sequence in which the loading process is to be carried out.
For the InfoPackages, select whether you want the monitor to run a check during the data update to see if the first request from the list has been completely and correctly processed. Only then will the request for which this indicator has been set be processed.
Define a fixed delay of one minute for the individual InfoPackages. The delay represents the wait time until the next request is carried out.
Schedule the InfoPackage group in the background.

Hi Snigdha,
Enter T-Code RSMON and you can go to the InfoPackage Groups screen or from RSA1 (Monitoring tab). Select the required InfoPackage group and choose Monitor Icon on the top to see its status. Also the same can be done through RSMO. But individual infopacks are listed there in RSMO.

Package Group Name Change

Hello Experts
I have already searched for any related postings on the Package Group. I could not find any. I dont know why everytime my posting gets removed from the list.
There are some postings on Package and Function Groups only - which are irrelevant for my issue.
Kindly help me out on the below queries or plz provide some links on the same.
What is a Package Group? What is the purpose of it?
How can I change the name of a Package Group? Is there any TCodes we use for it?
Which Table stores the name of all Package Groups?

How to convert Info Pack Group

pls go through the below points
1. Goto PC maintenance screen (RSPC)
2. Create new Process Chain
3. Create variant for Start process (Give description and Tech. name).
4. From process types select "Infopackage" and drag it to the process chain window.
5. Select Infopackages used in Infopackage Group (one by one)
6. Link these processes as per the execution sequence in Infopackage group.(Click on process and drag to the other process)
7. Add the PSA to Data Target step as Infopackages load until PSA level.
8. Activate the process chain.
Or try Function Module RSPC_MIGRATE_INFOPACKAGE_GROUP if it is available in BI 7.0.

How do we raise an event into R/3 from a BW info-package ?

Hi friends,
Is there a way to raise an event from a BW stand-along info-package into the R/3 system, without using Event Collector..?
I cannot use the subsequent event option in the package itself since that will raise the event only into BW. I want it into R/3. I can probably raise an event from the package to start a process-chain and then add a step in the PC to run a pgm to raise an event into R/3.
But I am trying to see if there is a better and simpler way without having to create a extra PC.
I am on the BW 3.1 system.
Any suggestions/solutions will be greatly appreciated.

hi, here is what you do: This addition is with respect to the previous reply
You need an event from BW to R/3
Step1: create a custom FM copy of BP_EVENT_RAISE and making it rfc enable. To make a FM RFC enabled you just need to tick the radio button in the attributes of the FM.
Step2: Create a custome z program in BW and call FM z_bp_event_raise created in ECC.
Step3: call that program in Process chain.

Start button is disabled at info package

I have crreated a background job in SM36 to trigger an infopackage. I have added the event and parameter in the infopackage. But when I tried to execute the background job, the infopackage is not executing and the start button is disabled there. Then I click on the stop button to delete the scehduling jobs and again tried to trigger it, the infopackage is not getting triggered. Pls help me.

Hi,
when the info-package is running the start button will be dis-abled.
when you run the background job obvisiouly it will be disabled what you need to check is the moniter screen and see the status it should be yellow.

Convention flag on Infotype 1029 (Business Event Type Info)

Hi,
I need to use this functionality of checking the convention flag & specify that my business event type is a multi-session event consisting of multiple sessions running in parallel.
However, this indicator does not even appear for me.
I am using TEM (ECC 6.0) & not LSO (I am aware that LSO does not support marking a course type as convention)
I need to use this functionality & am looking for any inputs on how to get this to display for me.

But no information on displaying this falg.

Hi,
You are correct there is no setup table concept in HR extractors.
But there is a cache. Usually HR extractions will be full load. But it also supports delta. There is no setup table concept in HR.Once you perform your init (with or without Data transfer your delta path is set and delta will follow else can go for Full loads alone. It will extract data from the relevant tables like generic extractors. The data will be filtered based on the selection parameters.
Except for payroll and time management rest all sub-functional areas supports only full load.
In case of full loads, old data needs to be deleted to avoid duplicated records in the target.

Delta Update
This DataSource supports delta updates. The source system fills table HRMS_BIW_PPDELTA with the date and time of the first data transfer (initialization) and the date and time of all subsequent data transfers. This information enables the system to perform a delta transfer. It only selects posting runs with the above statuses whose last changed on date is after the date in table HRMS_BIW_PPDELTA.
If you use DataSources 0HR_PY_PP_2 (Posting Documents) and 0HR_PY_PP_1 (Auditing Information), you must transfer data to BW from both DataSources using the same selection criteria.

Here the data will be extracted from an info type (PA, PD, time management etc) and for few other applications it is from the cluster tables (Payroll, compensation etc.)
HR is basically master data centric because it is always related to people related Info Objects, such as Employee, Person. In most of the cases HR master data is defined as Time Dependent to enable historical evaluation. HR R/3 system records a specific period of validity for each Info type.
Procedure to extract the HR data:
Activate Data Sources in the Source system (R/3)
Replicate Data Sources in BW system:
Activate business contents in BW.
Populate HR cubes with data by scheduling info packages.
Note: Master Data should be loaded first
Except for payroll and time management rest all sub-functional areas supports only full load.
In case of full loads, old data needs to be deleted to avoid duplicated records in the target.

Info package ABAP Routine to populate date from and To filed

Hello Experts,
I have requirement to populate the From and To dates with the: T-1 to T (Current Date u2013 1 to Current Run Date aka Sy-Datum) at info package level.I have written a code for this but see that From filed is not getting populated but TO filed is filled with current date.Can someone please tell me wats wrongwith my code?It is a delta info pacakage.

read table l_t_range with key
     fieldname = 'CPUDT'.
l_idx = sy-tabix.
l_t_range-sign = 'I'.

Info Package ABAP Routine

For FIGL_4 there is both open items and closed items. i want to filter only Open Items Accounting doc no's records for Customers,Vendors,GL account at info package level.
There are 3 ODS's in BW side for Open items Customers,Vendors,GL accounts. i want to filter open items based on these 3 ODS's Active data table.But i am getting error when i execute the request in Info Package.

Now i am facing an error during data extraction from Source system
error message in BW system "Error occurred in the data selection " Data Package 1 : arrived in BW ; Processing : 2nd processing step not yet finished
when i checked in SM37 (R3 system) i found the job has been cancelled and Log of this job says
"Asynchronous sending of InfoIDOCs 2 in task 0001 (0 parallel tasks) DATASOURCE = 0FI_GL_4
ABAP/4 processor: SAPSQL_WHERE_CANT_SCAN
Job cancelled      "
it seems to me the Problem in Routine at Info Package level.
My Requirement is to fetch only those Accounting Doc. No. RECORDS from 0FI_GL_4 data source which are present in Active data table of BSID,BSIK,BSIS ODS's.
So i want to put logic at Info Package routine .
1) fetch all Accounting Doc. No. from Active data table of BSID,BSIK,BSIS Ods's and Match those Accounting Doc. No.'s with the 0FI_GL_4 data source Accounting Doc. No's.if a Accounting Doc. No. match with 0FI_GL_4 data source Accounting Doc no then that corresponding record from 0FI_GL_4 will go to the ODS

Process Chain and Info Package Transportation?

How to transport a Process chain and a Info Package Individually?(first time from DEV to QA)
Case 2
I have 9(IP1 to IP9)infopackages and 3(P1 to P3) Process chains and in each Process chain I have 3 Info packages like IP1,IP2,IP3 in P1 and so on.,
Now is it necessary to transport Infopackages and Process chains individually or is it enough to transport Process chains only(If v transport Process chains will the Infopackages will also transport)then how to assign a request to each one?
What I mean is,all Infopackages are in $TMP(Package),and Process chain is also $TMP,Now is it necessary to change the package for Infopackages as well as Process chain and Tranport only PC,Iam confused here,can anyone help me out?

Hi Balaji,
If you have created new infopackages then you have to transport them. It is not necssary to transport the info-packages if you have them in the process chain but have not changed them.
Also you cannot transport any BW object with $ tmp package. Assign a package and then transport the objects.
The best way to transport the process chain is from the RSPC screen. Click the transport button there and collect all the objects and transport them.

Info Package in Process Chain taking long time

Dear All,
Info Package in Process Chain having 0 records is taking 1 hr 5 mins to complete. Time out time is set to 10 mins.
Does any one of you know the reason why it is happening like this?
