Events not showing all photos.

I am running iPhoto '11 on OSX 10.7.4  Some events are not showing all the photos.  The files are there when I look in finder at the original file.  I've tried rebuilding the library but that didnt work. Any suggestions?

No I have not... I'm hoping for an upcoming update release soon...

What does one do when iPhoto version 7.1.5 only opens one event without showing all photos or any other events?

Depends -what other clues? What recently changed? Do you have a good current backup?  best guess is to Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - and repair the database - if that does not resolve things rebuild your iPhoto library database

  • Aperture is not showing all photos in photo stream.

Aperture is not showing all photos in photo stream.  I have re-set photo stream from within the aperture app, but it only downloads a small fraction of my photo stream.  Any ideas?

Sorry but you're wrong, as the article that you quoted pointed out
Since your Mac has more storage than your iOS devices, your photos automatically download and your Mac keeps every photo from your Photo Stream by default

Ralph9430 offers a good suggestion.  But you may need to do this before taking his advice:
Check in iPhoto's Preferences (which you can open from the iPhoto menu).  Look in General, and make sure "Connecting Camera Opens" is set to "Image Capture").
If it is set to "iPhoto", you won't be able to get to Image Capture easily.

  • Photo Sharing not showing all photos via Apple TV 3rd Gen

    Hi
Have Apple TV, 3rd gen, latest update of the software. Running 10.8.5 on a mid 2009 MacBookPro. When I select a few smart albums from iPhoto 09 (v. 8.1.2) and then select those albums to share/stream to my Apple TV via iTunes (11.1.3) only a few of the photos show up; in the 3 albums I have selected to share/stream there are in excess of 500 photos. However, when I have my photos selected as the slideshow/screensaver in my Apple TV, only a few photos show up, less than 100, and then the slide show starts to repeat itself.
Any ideas why it's not showing every photo in the albums I have selected to stream/share?
    Thanks, and Merry Christmas!
    David

Are you mixing slideshows and screen savers up, screen savers won't show all the photos in a large collection.

  • Lightroom not showing all photos avail for import

About a week ago, I tried to import some new photos into LR 3 (3.4.1 to be exact), and the import dialogue does not show all the photos that should be available for import.
The files are on my hard drive and there are approximately 200 photos in the file folder. When I open LR's import dialogue to import the photos (after navigating to the proper location to import from of course), it shows me 17 of the photos in the file folder! I selected "all" instead of "new" to see if that would make a difference and it did not. I made sure I did not have "do not import suspected duplicates" checked, even closed LR and rebooted my computer.... that didn't work.
I tried creating a new catalog to see if that would fix the issue, and it did not.
I'm not sure what else to try, or if there is a known fix out there (having a heck of a time finding one in my internet search!)
    Any ideas/suggestions?
    Thanks!
    -KBP

Okay, so for giggles I tried checking in the Bridge to see if that changed anything... and it only showed the few files too. So I decided to "select all" and noticed at the bottom left that it listed the balance of my photos as "hidden." I have no idea how my files got hidden, or why it was only some and not others... but at least it's all fixed now and I can get back to what I need to do in LR!

  • IPhoto event not showing all pictures

Photo (stored as .jpg format) does not appear in its iPhoto event directory. It was created by stitching two photos into one. Original two photos continue to appear but not the stitched pic. The file does appear under Documents --> All Images; file info says it is located in the directory where its two "parent" photos are. This has happened with other photos I import and create new ones from the original set. When I attempt to drag the stitched photo from All Images into its supposed iPhoto directory, I get an error message saying "Unreadable File." Why do these pictures not appear?

If you saved them into the iPhoto library then it will not work - you must NEVER make any changes of any sort to the contents or structure of the iPhoto library - iPhoto is a relational database using SQL and all photos must be imported into iPhoto
Set the stitch program as the external editor (iPhoto preferences) and open both photos in it to edit using iPhoto - do the stitch and save the resulting photo to the desktop doing a save as and import the stitched photo into iPhoto from there

  • "Library" view does not show ALL photos

My "Library" view is not showing me the last 2 rolls I imported. If I click on the specific year views, I can see the photos, but I expect all photos are displayed in the "Library" view.
While still running iPhoto 5, I imported a roll of images from disk that included photos taken at the end of Dec 2005 and in Jan 2006. These are the photos that do not show in the "Library" view. This was happening with iPhoto 5 and is still happening with iPhoto 6.
Any suggestions for getting all photos to shwo in the "Library" view ?
    Thanks,
    Eliot

Thanks -- I figured out my problem...
Since iPhoto now seems to group items into "rolls", I had imported images from several different dates. The first image was from Sep'05, so it placed ALL the images imported, even those from Jan'06, with the Sep'05 photo in the middle of of my "Library" view.
Is there a way to have the "Library" view sort in date order instead of by imported roll ?
    Thanks,
    Eliot

  • ICloud photo stream does not show all photos

I have 1000 photos is my photo stream, however on my Apple TV I just setup, I can only get 322 to show up in the iCloud Photo Stream. I've tried restoring and setting it up again, but I have the exact same numbers of photos.
Is there a reason I can only see 322 out of 1000 photos in my photo stream on the Apple TV?

I noticed the Apple TV was not displaying my photo stream after the update to 6.0. Here is what I did to get it to start displaying my photo stream again.
On your Apple TV go to Settings>iCloud
    Click on iCloud Photo Settings
Turn off both the My Photo Stream and Photo Sharing options then turn them back on again
Select Photo Stream from the Settings menu and navigate to select the photo stream you want to use
    Preview the slide show
I have about 400 images in the photo stream that I use to display on Apple TV and during the preview it took about two minutes before the images displayed.
Then I tested it in a normal setting where I have slide show starting after two minutes. The TV went to screensaver mode after two minutes and was black for about two minutes before the images appeared. Before the update the images would display shortly after the screensaver kicked on.
    I hope this helps!

  • IPhoto Places map home button does not show all photo locations in one extent

I recently started populating location information for my photos in iPhoto 2011. Some are pre-loaded from my iPhone, but I also manually added locations for other photos/events. Now I have locations assigned both in the U.S. and in Europe, but when I try to view them all in one extent (via the "home" location button on the Places map), the map centers on Europe and I can't even see the U.S. Did I accidentally change a setting for the "home" location on the map? I cannot find a menu that shows options for the "home" location. Is it possible that locations are too far away from each other to see them all at once? If so, is there a way to reset the center of the map so I don't have to pan over from Europe every time I want to look at the U.S. locations (which is 99% of the time)?
Thanks in advance for the help.

I think I figured it out.
It appears that the iPhoto Places map centers on the extent with the greatest number of individually geo-tagged photos. Rather than centering the map to the area in the middle of all your locations (i.e. one location, one "point"), it actually prioritizes locations by how many individually tagged photos are at that location (i.e. one location, many potential "points").
Secondarily it may be a screen size issue. When I falsely tag a bunch of photos in Hawaii, then I can only see HI and mainland U.S. (no Asia or Europe).
I guess Apple assumes you'll want to see most where you have the most tagged photos. This is unfortunate, however, as I tend to tag overseas locations by the entire Event (many photos placed at one location) vs my domestic photos which may or may not have locations. I guess it'll even out over time, but still, it would be nice to be able to set a specific "home" location or viewing extent.

  • IPhoto not showing all photos

I have iPhoto '11 v 9.4.3.  Some time ago I noticed that certain events in the event view were showing up with zero photos in the event, with a gray palm tree sunset as the key photo of that event.  When I go to import pictures from my camera, iPhoto reports that photos in the camera are duplicates of photos already imported, but it shows a blank for the imported photo.  Since iPhoto seems to know they are there, I don't re-import. When I go to the Finder and look for the "missing" photos, they are there in the iPhoto Library (under Masters).  So, my question is, why does iPhoto know they are there but can't show them?  And how do I fix it?  And BTW, they have not been made hidden in iPhoto.

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Screensaver not showing all photos in an iPhoto smart album

Got a weird problem here, done some searching around but can't find a fix.
I have created a smart album in iPhoto 11. This correctly displays 95 photos across multiple events, based on a string match to the event name.
However, if I use this smart album for a desktop or screensaver, it only displays 8 photos, all from the oldest event that is in the smart folder.
Anyone have an idea how I can fix this?

Is Aperture the only app being affected? How does your desktop look? Have you rebooted your systems since this started happening? What is your display setting in System Preferences?
If it's only affecting Aperture its most likely the plist file ~/Library/Preference/com.apple.Aperture.plist.
You should move that to the desktop and restart Aperture. Not sure what file you deleted but moving the plist file won't remove any images from the library. Also take a look at the rest o the troubleshooting tips in [Aperture 3: Troubleshooting Basics|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3805]

  • Facebook albums not showing all photos in iPhoto

I'm trying to export all of the photos (several hundred) from Facebook to iPhoto. Facebook is having difficulty creating an archive, and rather than wait for them to fix whatever that problem is I'm trying to import them directly using the Facebook connector in iPhoto.
I added the account and it shows up in the list of Web albums. However, when the account is opened, only three albums are present (instead of six) with a total of five photos (instead of hundreds). Does anyone have any suggestions for what to check to make sure that iPhoto is connecting properly and how to get the photos from Facebook imported into iPhoto?
Please don't suggest downloading each photo individually, I don't have time to right click several hundred photos one at a time.

The only Facebook albums that will appear in iPhoto will be manually created ones. Auto-created albums by other apps or Facebook itself (Instagram, Mobile Uploads, Wall Album, etc) won't appear. Are those the ones missing?

  • HT204053 photo stream is not showing all photos on all devices

I think the tag line says it all.  Any suggestions?

This is usually caused by enabling photo stream on your different devices at different points in time.  Photo stream photos only remain in iCloud for 30 days, though up to 1000 photo stream photos will remain on your devices until deleted.  The result of this is that if you will only receive photos added to photo stream in the last 30 days when you first enable it on a new device, even though your other device(s) may have older photo stream photos on them.
If you want to add these "missing" photo stream photos to your other devices, you can either save them to the camera roll, import them to your computer, then sync them to your other devices; create a shared photo stream that includes these photos and invite yourself to it (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmc0cd7e99);  or us and app like PhotoSync to transfer them to your other devices over wifi.

  • Iphoto 11/Part of Ilife does not display all photos in "photos" or "events"

I am running latest version of everything, just loaded ILife. Iphoto 11 does not show "ALL" photos when I use "photo" or "event" view. It shows some....when I cycle down through the Blank images in these views, it will often show the pictures as I mouse click down.....but as soon as I take my finger off the mouse, everything (well, almost everything) reverts to blanks.
There is nothing selected to be hidden.
I have "Faces" set up and now when i look through an individual "Face" file, there will be intermittent Blanks.
    Very screwy, anybody Help????

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
