Events Photos Not Showing Descending Like iPhoto

Since updating to 4.2 on my iPad, now my Events in the Photos app are showing in Ascending order vs Descending which is how I have them set up in iPhoto.
I have tried to stop syncing Photos then re-syncing but nothing is working. Is this a 4.2 bug?

Open Iphoto.
Select all events
Open "Batch Change"
Set "Date" as current date
It will then set all time the same
It will then sort by event name
Sync and all events will be in alphabetized ord
got this from another thread, def fixed the problem but makes all the dates the same (forcing it to use alphabetical).  Hopefully new OS will solve this nuisance bug/feature!

  • ICloud photos not showing in my iPhoto library

I'm really having trouble understanding the relationship among iPhoto, iCloud, and Photo Streams.  I want to have all my photos show up in my iPhoto library.  They always did.  However, a few weeks ago (while traveling and adding a lot of photos), I began to not see all my photos in my library.  In fact, when I look at "Events" there are greyed out boxes that have the date photos were taken, it indicates that there are 0 photos, and there is a shades-of-grey icon that has a palm tree and horizon.  I had never seen this before.  Some of my photos from my travel ended up in my library just fine.  Others are in limbo.  I found the others in My Photo Stream, but I can't figure out how to add them to the library, where they belong.
When I show Package Contents from Home>Pictures>iPhoto Library, all the pictures are there.  They are just not showing up in iPhoto.  I have quit and restarted iPhoto.  Do you think my iPhoto app is corrupt?
Any suggestions would be welcome.  This is vexing...

Hold down Command and Option, and launch iPhoto. A Photo Library First Aid window will appear. In this window you’ll see a number of repair options. Start with Rebuild Thumbnails and give it a try. Check iPhoto after you’ve done this to see how it behaves. If it’s not showing all your photos, give the next option in the Rebuild window a try. Rinse and repeat until iPhoto is working properly.
Make sure you have a backup of your Library as a precaution.

  • Photos not showing up in iPhoto but still in Library

I'm having a problem with iPhoto. I just got back from a trip. I was copying using the share photo function my photos from one computer to another and after that it seems that about 500 photos are not showing up on the original computer, these photos also did not copy over. Originally, I thought somehow I had deleted them somewhere but they are in fact still in the correct places in the iPhoto library folder. However, they are not showing up when I open iPhoto. I have restarted. I have repaired permissions. I have checked the iPhoto trash- they are not there. I have viewed the hidden photos. I am at a loss. I am sure it is some easy fix I just cannot find it. Please help. I don't want to manually deal with this problem because I have already organized all of them.

Sounds like a corrupted database, I'm afraid.
Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums back.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

  • Iphone photos not showing up on iphoto

    Hello,
Camera roll is about 4.4GB, and I want to save my pics to the mac pro.
    Problem:
First, I connect usb to mac book pro and :
    1. Iphoto shows iphone 5 yet displays 'loading' message. No photos are uploaded.
    2. Image capture also shows iphone 5, yet no files are displayed.
Second, icloud seems to have uploaded some of the recent pictures so I have them saved. Yet the old ones are still in my iphone.
Does anyone have similar issues? would appreciate some input.
    Thank you,
    Will

    Same problem.
After USB is connected, iPhoto shows iPhone name with "(0)" photos.
Same whether iPhoto is open or closed before USB is connected.
Same whether iPhone is on or off when USB is connected.
    Rebooting iPhone did not help.
    Relaunching iPhoto did not help.
    Rebooting Mac did not help.

  • Photo Library photos not showing up in iPhoto '11

My iPhone is sync'd with iPhoto '11 (9.4.3) and shows all the photos in my library, about 2300. There's a bunch of photos in the library I'd like to delete. Unfortunately, I can't delete them from the iPhone and have to go directly to iPhoto - no problem.  However, in iPhoto - these photos are nowhere to be found, even though the photo count is the exact same on the iPhone & in iPhoto - 2300.
I tried to search for them by Event (they're organized on the iPhone by a wrong date (1970) but nothing shows up. It's like they're not in iPhoto, even though they are syncing the photos to the iPhone.  Strange...
    Any thoughts on this?

While in the event mode go to the View ➙ Sort menu option and set the sort to By Date, Descending so that the latest imports will be at the top of the window.  Then check to see if you can find your photos.
Are you using iTunes to sync the photos between your iPhone and MBP or do you have Photo Stream setup in iPhoto to automatically import the PS photos?

  • Photos not showing up in iphoto

After I take pictures with my iphone the pictures are not being being displayed in iphoto.  Instead of being able to view the pictures in iphoto all you see are blank white screens.  If I say to edit the photo, it does display but only a single photo at a time, I need to do this for each photo that I have taken.
How can I correct this problem?

  • Non iPhone camera app photos not showing up in iPhoto

When I connect my iPhone 4 to my MacBook, iPhoto only shows thumbnails of photos taken with the camera app.
Thumbnails taken with a third party app show up as empty hash border boxes and I am not able to import them. Why is this? It's dam annoying. I should be able to get hold of any images on my iPhone regardless of what app I used.
(Note photos are always stored on the iPhone in the Photo Gallery)

It's a bug, I think. Many people have reported it on the iPhoto forum, so you might search for a solution there.
See if Image Capture in your Applications folder lets you download all the photos to your hard drive. Worst-case, copy and paste them into an email to send yourself.

  • I imported photos but the event does not show

I imported photos today, it shows up under "Last Import" but the event does not show under "Events", how do I fix this?

What version of iPhoto are you running? Also is your profile correct?
In the Events mode set the View ➙ Sort option to By Date ➙ Descending so that the newer events are at the top of the window.

After migrating data from Time Machine, some of my photos are not showing up in iPhoto LIbrary view. I get a 'dashed rectangle." When I click on it I get ' ! in a Triangle" When I click on that, I actually can see the photo. I want to see all  my photos in 'Library' view, and I can't figure out how these photos seem to be arbitrarily hidden. Help, please.

Try these for the first attempt:
First be sure to have a backup copy of the library if you already don't have one.

  • Photo edits not showing up in iPhoto when using PSE

I have recently purchased Photoshop Elements 13 and have set iPhoto to use it as my editor. That is working, however, when I save the file, the new file does not show up in iPhoto. It does, however, show up in Organizer. Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks Larry, I don't doubt that I'm not doing it correctly, but I don't know what I am doing wrong.  I have selected PSE to be my external editor in the iPhoto preferences and when I select a photo in iPhoto to edit, it comes up in PSE. I edit the photo and select save (or click on the X in the top right corner of the image, I have tried both and gotten the same results both ways. I get a dialog box that indicates PSE is going to save the file in psd format. I have let it do that and I have also changed to JPG, neither has made any difference. I have also gone in and changed the preferences in PSE to replace the original file on the advice of help at Elements Village. It didn't change the file in iPhoto before that change and it hasn't changed it after that change either.
The file I originally was working with was in RAW format, and I read in another thread that there was no way for PSE to save the edited RAW file back into iPhoto directly, that it would need to be saved somewhere else, such as to the desktop, and then imported back into iPhoto. So, I edited a jpg file and saved it and that edited file did not show up in iPhoto either. From reading other threads, it seems to work for other people, but I don't know what I and doing wrong or what else to try. I have spent a ton of time trying to get this to work because I don't care for the PS Organizer and would prefer to use iPhoto to organize my photos and PSE and ACR to edit them, but so far I am not having any luck with it other than saving the edited file somewhere else and then importing it again into iPhoto, which is a pretty clunky way to have to do it.

  • Photo stream not showing up in iphoto

Upgraded iPhone 4 to iOS 5 and enabled photo stream and upgraded iPhoto on my MacBook Pro and enabled photo stream on it as well but new pics taken on iPhone are not showing up in iPhoto. Any ideas?

I am having exactly the same issue so would be very keen to find out how to fix it.

  • TS3989 my photos that i took on my ipad are not showing up in iphoto or aperture

I have photos that I took on my Ipad that are in photos. They are not showing up in Iphoto or aperure on my Mac? All software is up to date, photostream turned on on mac and ipad....is there something else I need to do?

OK, you'll have to upgrade to iPhoto '11, available in the Mac App Store, in order to get photo stream and shared photo stream on your Mac.  After doing so, you'll be able to go to System Preferences>iCloud and check Photo Stream.  Then your photo stream photos will appear in iPhoto on your Mac.
As mentioned earlier, photos added to photo stream more than 30 days ago can be added to a shared photo stream (as discussed here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmc0cd7e99), then invite yourself as a subscriber and they will appear in iPhoto as well.
Be sure to check Automatic Import in iPhoto>Preferences>Photo Stream if you want your photo stream photos to automatically be added to your iPhoto library as well.

  • Pictures are not showing up in iphoto

I am running iphoto 9.4.2.   I recently noticed a picture I knew that should be in my iphoto library was not showing up.  I opened finder and found the iphoto library to show the contents I right clicked and found the photo in the masters/originals and modified.  However, it still was not showing up in the app.  I repaired the library, no good, I rebuilt the library still no good.  I made a copy of the folder that had the photos ( I know now there are multiple photos missing), moved that copied folder to my download folder and imported into iphoto.  Upon doing that iphoto claims it is a duplicate photo.  I ignored the duplicate box and imported anyway and now it is in the app.  However, I know I have many other photos not showing up and want to correct the problem with the program.  Anyone else come across this issue?

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Something is not working - you need to fix it
with no mind readers here it is important to have some information
    What version of iPhoto?
    What camera?
    Has it ever worked?
Does it work with image capture?
Have you tried a card reader?
    Any otther info?
Or would you like some random guesses
