Events reappear after deleting

When I delete an event on ical it reappears and will not stay deleted. I have backed up, rebuilt, emptied ical caches, emptied calendar caches, restarted all to no avail.

I am having a similar issue. Some re-occurring events can be changed or deleted and others (I created) won't disappear when I "delete". (I went through trying to make events have an end date to try to help some MobileMe sycing issues.) Not sure what is happening. I am about to install update of 10.5.5. Wondering if that will help or make it worse?

Safari 6.1.4 (and older): I remove cookies a couple of times a day and have noticed that some reappear either immediately after leaving the site, or later that day or even the next day. Sometimes afer quitting Safari and computer put to sleep. Some reappear after deleting multiple times. They are not related to homepage. Also, did not revisit the orignating specific websites visited such as the worst - Wells Fargo.

Safari does not have good cookie management.
If you are really concerned about cookies, use a different browser such as Firefox or Chrome

  • Shortcut reappears after delete and restart

I have this last Icon/shortcut to a webpage Carbon CXHD pro which come back everytime I restart my phone after deleting it. This has survived all my software full updates as well from the time of IOS 6 onwards. I am annoyed where it is sitting the backup which it pushes back to homescreen even after deliberate attempts to delete it. Any one have any solution.

It was jailbroken at some point in the past. That's what causes this problem to begin with. As you have learned, it is not always possible to remove all traces of a jailbreak.
The only thing we can suggest is to put the phone in DFU mode and restore it. Do NOT restore your backup as it may be what's causing your problem now. You will have to re-build it from scratch. That's the best case scenario.

  • Contacts reappear after deleting them (Exchange)!?

    Hello everyone,
I'm not entirely sure if the following problem only occurred after upgrading to Yosemite or if it was there before.
However, I recently noticed "contacts" in the Mac contacts app that I didn't save there. They are just email addresses shown as such, without a name or anything.
Those where mostly people I've sent mails to, but didn't bother to save them as an actual contact. Nevertheless, that also happened with email addresses that where already linked to a proper contact. This for example confused FaceTime or Mail. Those apps where not able anymore to relate the mail addresses to the actual contact. After deleting those strange contacts everything was fine for some time, but now they keep coming back. Every time I delete them they show up again a day or two later. I have no idea what triggers that.
I've got two accounts synced with my address book. One being my iCloud account the other one an university Exchange account. Furthermore those contacts don't show up on my iPhone. I also noted that I don't see these contacts when I just choose the iCloud contacts in my address book. So I guess it must have something to do with the Exchange contacts!? I already deleted the account twice and also deleted the relevant library files as well as recent recipients from mail. Still they keep coming back. It's always the same couple of addresses and they don't really have something in common. At least nothing I can see.
It's really annoying. I should mention that I keep the exchange contacts in sync because I can then easily search for people's mail addresses from my university. Furthermore, as far as I know I shouldn't be able to create new contacts on that Exchange account and the contacts in question are not university mail addresses.
Has anyone experienced similar problems or does anyone know where the contacts app pulls those contacts from?
    Thank you for your help

  • Event Keeps Reappearing After Delete, Event Keeps Reappearing After Delete

I created an event and noticed subsequently that, in addition to this, the same event appeared again on a different date. I left the original and deleted the spurious event/date but, as soon as I touch any other date to make a new entry, it reappears - same spurious event on same date!! I am running iCal Version 7.0 (1835.1). I have done the usual Quit/Force Quit iCal and shutdown/restart. Anyone any ideas as to why please?
Now found this discussion already in progress but can't delete this one - help!!

  • PDF reappears after deleting it

    Hello,
I have been having this issue from the very beginning of Acrobat X Standard. I have Acrobat X Standard installed on 3 different machines. 2 of the machines are Server 2008 R2 Standard x64 and the other is Win 7 Pro x64. I am currently running Acrobat X Standard (10.1.3) This happens on all 3 machines.
If I delete (shift+delete) a pdf and immediately press F5 the file reappears. If I keep pressing F5 sometimes after about 15 seconds, it disappears, sometimes it stays and I have to delete it again and press F5 multiple times.
    wtf?

Does this ever happen with files other than pdfs?  I have seen this happen with other files, and it is evidently a Windows problem.

  • POP Account reappears after deletion

After I delete a POP account, it reappears shortly afterwards.
I thought this might be a syncing issue so I reset my sync from my computer to .Mac; no joy. I thought that rebuilding the Envelope Index file might do the trick; no joy (although it is much smaller now). I thought that deleting the com.apple.mail.plist file might work; no joy... the POP account just reappears.
Can someone point me in the right direction please?
    Thanks,
    Bill

Do you have a plug-in or some kind of ISP “assistant” that would set up that account automatically for you, just like Mail itself does in the case of .Mac accounts?
Try the following procedure to re-create com.apple.mail.plist:
    1. If you have a .Mac account and .Mac synchronization of Mail data is enabled either in Mail > Preferences > General or in System Preferences > .Mac, disable it before proceeding.
    2. Quit Mail if it’s running.
    3. Make a backup copy of the ~/Library/Mail folder, just in case something goes wrong while trying to solve the problem. You can do this in the Finder by dragging the folder to the Desktop while holding the Option (Alt) key down, for example. This is where all your mail is locally stored.
    4. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Preferences/. Locate com.apple.mail.plist and move it to the Desktop (to be deleted if this fixes the problem).
    5. Open Mail. You’ll have to set up your non-.Mac accounts from scratch all over again. If given the option to import existing mailboxes or something like that, don’t. Just enter the account information and Mail will automagically rediscover the data in ~/Library/Mail/ when done.
    6. You’ll have to re-configure most of your settings in Mail > Preferences. For spam-related security reasons, the first thing you should do is go to Preferences > Viewing and disable Display remote images in HTML messages if it’s enabled.
    7. You may also need to re-install or re-enable any Mail plug-ins you have installed for Mail to recognize them.
    8. As a side effect of re-creating com.apple.mail.plist, Mail might rename Outbox (which is where messages waiting to be sent are stored) to Delivered. The name of that mailbox is actually a misnomer, as it would contain messages (if any) that couldn’t be delivered for some reason. You can delete that mailbox if you wish.
    9. If the problem is fixed now and .Mac synchronization of Mail data was enabled at the beginning, enable it again, go to System Preferences > .Mac > Advanced, click Reset Sync Data, and choose the appropriate options to reset the Mail data stored on the .Mac server with the data locally stored on the computer, i.e. sync data must flow from the computer to the .Mac server.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. You can easily locate any of the folders referred to in this post by copying the folder path here, doing Go > Go to Folder in the Finder, and pasting the folder path there.

  • Books immediately reappear after deleting

I'm trying to delete two books (both created in iBooks Author) from my ipad. When I delete them from iBooks, they immediately reappear with the little download arrow icon. At this stage, when I choose Edit and tap on the covers, the Delete button is not activated. If I re-download, open, close, and then hit Edit, I can delete the titles. But then they reappear a second later, waiting to be downloaded. (I can successfully delete other content from iBooks.)
I have deleted iBooks and reinstalled. No luck. The books are not being synced with iCloud.
Any suggestions for getting rid of these pesky books?
    Thanks,
    pjs

Update: I created a new account and imported the calendar there. Used it for a few minutes, do not have the same problem.

  • Apps reappearing after deleting

I have an iPhone 4. I have placed most of my apps in neat little folders. Then when I download a new app the old ones leave their folders and apps that I have deleted reappear filling up the rest of the space on my phone leaving me with no room to add any more apps. I have to go back and delete them again before I can add a new app! This is sooooo frustrating. Does anyone have ay ideas?

I did something that has helped, although I'm not sure it has solved the problem. I deleted from my Itunes library every one of the apps that kept coming back. Make sure you get them all because there may be one app that causing all the problems. I'm not sure. Some of them aren't named as the icon says, which is very frustrating.
Since I did this, I've had a couple come back once, but I've deleted them again (normally) and they didn't return. So far I've been able to leave my "AUTOMATICALLY SYNC NEW APPS" box checked in Itunes.
I'll post here if it starts happening again.

  • Cookies reappear after deleting from months ago!

OK This just happened and is very, very odd.  I am in the habit of deleted my cookies pretty frequently.  When I go to delete them at the end of the day there is maybe 80 or 90 or so at the most.
So tonight I deleted the cookies, and they were all gone.  Then I restart safari and log in to 1 or 2 websites.  Usually I wind up with maybe 4-5 that appear after a login.  So I check and there are over 1,000!  And they are from sites I visited months and months ago!  So immedeatly I think it must be the iCloud safari sync.  I go and check that and nope it is off.
Anyone have any idea how this happened!?  Very strange!
    Thanks in advance.

  • Photo keeps reappearing after delete

Hi, I want to delete pictures from iPhoto library. I put them into trash, then click "empty trash". The problem is that when I do that the pictures reappear back into the iPhoto library. It's so annoying! I even tried to delete the originals in my iPhoto library folder. How can I completely get rid of these pictures?!

I'm deleting them from the library, then i try to delete them from the trash but the pictures just go back into the library as if I haven't deleted them at all. Is there a way to change a setting or preference?? Thanks.

  • Old email reappearing after deleted

I am experiencing two problems 1) I delete emails and when I check my email again it reappears. how do I stop this from happening? 2) i close applicarions and they reappear? Please help

Sounds like you have your computer checking a POP account and your computer thus gets copies from the server and you don't have your comptuer set to delete from server once downloaded/deleted thus they are still on the server.  Thus when your phone checks the server they are there.  POP accounts were never intended for this mobile age.

Could be the preferences are corrupted ..
Go to ~/Library/Preferences. Move the com.apple.Safari.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Desktop.
Quit then relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, move the .plist file to the Trash.
If that didn't help, quit Safari if it's open.
    Go to ~ / Library / Caches / com.apple.Safari
Move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.Safari folder to the Trash.
    Relaunch Safari. Try a Bookmark.
