Ever-changing gamma after Final Cut Pro 7 upgrade

Just upgraded to the latest Final Cut Studio a week ago, featuring Final Cut Pro 7. Now I'm seeing a darker gamma every time a movie goes to a new program. I'm seeing one gamma in the Final Cut viewer, a darker gamma in QuickTime player, and finally an even darker gamma still once the file is compressed as an FLV. Have a look:
http://homepage.mac.com/cbauer/files/FCP7_gamma.jpg
Needless to say this is very irritating. "Enable Final Cut Studio color compatibility" is checked in QuickTime Player; ironically, unchecking it actually makes it look like Final Cut's viewer. I'm running Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard. Gamma was consistent before the Final Cut Studio upgrade. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Um, anybody?

  • Final Cut Pro Upgrade Licence Issues

    Hi,
I wonder if anyone can advise .
I had an old version of Final Cut Pro and recently bought the upgrade , which I installed successfully.
Then, seeing that I had a whole new box of manuals, in a moment of madness, I threw away the old box . In doing so, I have thrown away my old licence.
So now if I ever need to re-instal Final Cut Pro , or instal it on my laptop (it is only installed on my desktop) , I have no licence key for the original ( which I must instal before the upgrade ) .
Anyone got any ideas how I go about getting a re-issued licence key?
    Thanks in advance .

  • Changing language of Final Cut Pro

A friend gave me a computer that has Final Cut Pro 3 on it, but it is operating in French. Is there any way to change this? Thanks.

Unfortunately, that doesn't work. It's not the computer, but that application. As if it was installed in French somehow, or bought there. Maybe it was...
    Thanks, though.

  • Changing serial number Final Cut Pro 7

    Hi there,
I was wondering how I can change a serial number for FCP 7. I saw a bunch of older topics about a Final Cut Pro System ID folder, but I can't find it in the Library.
Thx in advance for the help!

You should be able to use FCS Remover to remove only the registration info:
From the Preset popup, choose "None"
Then scroll down the window and click on the disclosure triangle to the left of where it says "Shared Files" and then tick the checkbox next to "Registration"
    Hope it helps

  • MUSIC FOLDER MISSING AFTER FINAL CUT PRO X UPDATE

I cant see the music folders that come with Final Cut pro after the most recent update (i.e. special effects, etc). PLEASE HELP!

I saw on somewhere that reloading FCPRO Content v1.0 would do the trick. It worked. All 1300 sound fx are back where they belong. The link to the download is:

Did not try the Garage band suggestion but thank you all.

  • Install DVD Pro After Final Cut Pro X

I have a new system on which I've installed Final Cut Pro X and Motion 5. I still have quite a bit of use for DVD Pro, however. Is it possible to install just the DVD Pro application on a disk that has Final Cut Pro X on it? Or is this going to muck with the new apps?
    Thanks,
    Dan

When has apple declared the DVD format dead, I certainly haven't heard it.
There is still a huge demand for DVD and will continue at least for another two years if not longer.
Unless there is a better alternative my business depends on DVD format.
    @Daniel02
You can custom install FCP studio, and have DVD studio pro installed,
However I haven't tried installing it after FCPX, but I do not envision a problem with it.

  • Older Final Cut Pro Upgrade

I was checking the downloads for support, and I cannot find an upgrade from Final Cut Pro 5.0.4 to 5.1.4. Does such an upgrade exist? I need this to look at a clients file.
    Thanks.

That was the "crossgrade" update for $49 that is no longer offered

  • Final Cut Pro Upgrade Offer

Can anyone answer my WHY my version of Final Cut Pro 4 Part Number = M9038 Z/A does not qualify for the upgrade to Final Cut Studio? I feel cheated

what makes you think it doesn't?
it stated quite clearly on Apple's FCS Universal Crossgrade page that FCP4 van be crossgraded to FCS for $199
in the blurb at the bottom of the crossgrade order form it even mentions your specific version right off the bat "You must have purchased Final Cut Pro 4 Retail (M9038Z/A)...." blah blah blah

  • PLZ  HOW I CAN T  USE THE COMPRESSOR AFTER FINAL CUT PRO X  WHY???????

HOW I CAN EXPORT MY VIDEO FROM FINAL CUT PRO X TO COMPRESSOR TO YOUTUBE???

You don't need to use Compressor. In FCP, Share>You Tube and then choose the quality setting you want.
Alternatively you can use Compressor to give you more control over your settings. If so, choose Share and either  export a master file and bring that into Compressor…or SHare>Add Destination>Compressor settings.
    Good luck.

  • Final Cut Pro Upgrade 5.1

Hi, I recently bought an almost new powerbook G4 that has Final Cut 5.0.4 on it. I want to upgrade to 5.1 but I don't have the original installation discs for frp since I bought this computer used. Does anyone know if I buy an upgrade if I am required to insert the original installation discs for 5.0.4 or if having the serial number on the "about software" screen is enough. I don't want to buy it and findout it's useless because I'm missing discs or info.
    Thanks!

Welcome to the discussions, Peter. You should start a new thread - you won't get any traffic if you threadjack a 3 week old thread, but since you're new you get one gimme...
You need to Crossgrade... It's $49 if you have 5.0 FCS and that's just to cover media costs... Since it's a complete replace, there's no way to download it... You'd probably be looking at 20gigs...
anyway, next time start a new thread...

  • Final Cut Pro Upgrade

    Hi,
I am a registered user of FCP 1.2 (I registered on the Apple website) but it's about 5 Years I do not use it...
Now I am going to buy a new mac and I want to switch back to FPC (the new FCP studio is so interesting) but I have lost the original FCP 1.2 disc... I still have the license, the manual and the stickers with the S/N and so on...
Is it legal to use this information to upgrade to FCP Studio or I have to buy a full version of the software?

the crossgrade requires you mail in your original discs otherwise people may try to buy at the reduced price using stolen license information ... i'd have another look for those discs as they represent quite a savings

  • Final Cut Pro X export troubles: exports video with only half the audio.

Ever since I updated Final Cut Pro X, I've been having problems exporting. I either get error messages or the audio doesn't fully export. When I tried exporting a master file to my desktop, I got a message saying “error occurred when creating frame” then lists the frame number. Someone suggested copying the project file and pasting it into a new project. I did that, and it exported without the error popping up; but halfway through the video, the audio disappears, and does so in the same spot it disappeared in a previous youtube export before I tried the copy/paste method. I don't have the original footage; I'm making color correction changes to an edit; so I'm not sure if the second half of the video is somehow corrupted, don't know how to check that, and not sure what to do if it is.
Another suggestion given to me was to delete the event my footage is in, then create a new event, re-upload all the footage into that one, and relink my project files to it. He also said don't delete my event and project folder at the same time, which I'm not even sure how you simultaneously delete two things on a laptop. I don't understand how this method would work though, since deleting the event makes my project disappear since it has nothing to link to. I'm scared to try this method since I don't want to lose my work; I really don't want to color correct it all over again.
Is there any way to successfully export the file suitable for youtube posting, or is this a bug in the system they haven't fixed yet?

    Just turned off background rendering.
I'm not certain what you mean for specs in a specific point in the video, but here are the specs for the entire edit I initially received:
    Dimensions: 1920 X 1080
    Codecs: H.264, AAC, Timecode
    2 Audio Channels
    Total bit rate: 12,083
Size: 951,735,770 bytes (951.7 MB on disk)
Here are the specs for the exported video that has the audio issue:
    Dimensions: 1920 X 1080
    Codecs: H.264, AAC, Timecode
    2 Audio Channels
    Total bit rate: 12,274
Size: 966,817,082 bytes (966.8 MB on disk)
The video is 10:28 minutes long and the audio leaves at 5:57.
If that wasn't what you were looking for, just let me know. I'm not very good with technical stuff sometimes so may have misunderstood.
Is there something I should have done to the piece before I began color correcting it, like transcoding?

  • Final Cut Pro X not completing export to blue ray

Running Final Cut Pro 10.1.2, OS 10.9.4, Macbook pro I7 2.3 ghz, 16gig ram...  I can export a short sequence to blue ray from Final Cut Pro X and it works.  I have a 41 minute video that when I "share" to Blue Ray it will burn about 6-7 minutes of the 41 minutes without any errors.  It completes as if it worked but when you look at the video it is only 6-7 minutes.   A few portions of it are also pixilated, that's not the case when I'm viewing it.
Any ideas on the blue ray.  I have an external Pioneer Blue Ray burner which as I said works fine on short videos in Final Cut Pro X.

    Hello Gary,
Check out this thread for ideas.
More than a few users have struck issues since 10.1.2:

  • HT5177 Why does Final Cut Pro X tell me mpg is supported, but wont recognize it when I try to import it from my files??!!

I am trying to import an mpg file and Final Cut Pro X wont recognize the file.. please help.
Final Cut Pro says it is a supported file, still wont recognize it!

Yeah depends on the source but generally MPG hasn't ever been supported in Final Cut Pro- as Tom says you want to convert it to ProRes elsewhere before bringing into FCP X.
