  • My iPhone 4 will randomly shut off, it goes the apple symbol and then restart from there

Any ideas??? I reset it and it didn't help. I really don't wanna take it to the apple store because it is almost 4 hours away and I don't have the money for a new one. It's not under warranty but it's really annoying....:/

    Hello Kimbo1991,
It sounds like your phone is not successfully booting even though you have reset the device. I would next recommend attempting a backup and restore to iTunes with this article:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
If you are unable to restore with iTunes I would next put the device into recovery mode, and attempt the restore again:

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • My Mac will not allow me to downlode the latest iTunes and now I can not connect my phone and computer. THis is very frustrating! HELP!!!

My Mac will not allow me to downlode the latest iTunes and now I can not connect my phone and computer. THis is very frustrating! HELP!!!

Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then  "About This Mac".  Write down what it says about "version"and report that here.  Now continue to "More Info..."  Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).
Even my 12 year old Mac lets me download the newest iTunes.  Of course I can't install it but any computer can download the installer files so we need to know precisely what you are trying and what error messages you are seeing.

    1. It is never a good idea to include personal info like your email address or Apple ID in a post on an open forum.
    2. The email you received DOES NOT say your Apple ID cannot be used to unlock this iPad. The email informs you that your Apple ID was used to unlock an iPad. Fortunately the iPad is yours. The message confirms that. If your Apple ID was used to unlock an iPad that was not yours your would then know to change your password. Since the iPad is yours you do not need to change your password.
    Is your iPad working?

  • My iphone 5 keeps randomly shutting off and won't turn back on unless I plug it in to the charger

my iphone 5 keeps randomly shutting off and won't turn back on unless I plug it in to the charger

I'm experiencing the same issue. It's one thing to have to re-power up but to not be able to do so without plugging in the charger when the battery is substantially full, is a real drag.

  • My iPhone 5s keeps randomly shutting off and restarting. It can either be in use or just sitting there and it will turn off. I can't figure out what is wrong.

My phone randomly shuts off. I will be in the middle of using it and it will completely turn off. I can also not have used it all night and I will pick it up and click the home button and then it will flash the apple restart screen. I'm not sure what is causing this as I have only had the phone for about two weeks. It's a little concerning and just wanted to see if anyone knew what it could be without me having to go into the Apple store.
    Thanks!

Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

  • Hi, my iphone 5 will not restore through iTunes.  Error codes 2001 and 2006 appear.  Please help.

    Hi,
My iPhone5 will not restore through iTunes.  Error code 2001 appears and once I received error code 2006.  Please help?

    Error 2000-2009 (2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, and so on)
If you experience this issue on a Mac, disconnect third-party devices, hubs, spare cables, displays, reset the SMC, and then try to restore. If you are using a Windows computer, remove all USB devices and spare cables other than your keyboard, mouse, and the device, restart the computer, and try to restore. If that does not resolve the issue, try the USB issue-resolution steps and articles listed for Error 1604 above. If the issue persists, it may be related to conflicting security software. If the errors persist on another computer and known-good USB cable, the device may need service.

  • My iPhone 5 keeps randomly shutting off...

I've had my iPhone 5 for a year now, and its worked fine until now. Recently, it has has a ton of glitches and i dont know what to do! First, the battery percentage always stays the same, it never changes, and also it randomly shuts off every two minutes. I can't even finish listning to one song before my phone completley shuts off like an old fashioned TV screen, randomly slippting into a bunch of lines and then shutting off. It always turns back on right away, but it shuts off again in the next couple of minutes. Also, if i try charging up to a full percentage, it overheats from th inside and gets extremley hot, causing half the screen to momentarily black out.  I havent backed it up to my computer ever, and when i try backing it up now, my phone shuts off before it can finish. I am at my wits end with this stupid glitch, and i really dont want to lose all my pictures, apps, music, contacts, ect. I just dont know what could possibly fix it!

I'm experiencing the same issue. It's one thing to have to re-power up but to not be able to do so without plugging in the charger when the battery is substantially full, is a real drag.

  • After updating my iPhone 3G to a some iOS, it says it doesn't support Viettel SIM. Please help.

I recently just upgraded the iOS of the the iPhone 3G that my father gave me. After updating to some iOS (it doesn't say the iOS) it says that it doesn't support "Viettel" SIM. If my father finds this out, I'm in big trouble. Why doesn't it support Viettel? My father's iPhone 4S does but why not my 3G? I really need help, the sooner you reply, the better. Please help me.

The iPhone wasn't hacked. So which highest iOS iPhone 3G can have? How can I downgrade when I cannot use the iPhone and iTunes?

  • IPHONE 4 will not shut off

I am burning through my battery all of a sudden.  When I go to power off my phone I get no power off bar and the phone will not shut down. HELP

    Hello John,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with your iPhone.  It sounds like you may have an accessibility feature turned on.
First, check the VoiceOver setting.  I recommend trying the following:
Press the home button three times quickly. This is also called "Triple-click Home".
If the VoiceOver feature still is on, you can navigate to Settings > General > Accessibility and turn VoiceOver off here.
If it is too difficult to access those settings on the iPhone, you can turn VoiceOver off using iTunes:
    Managing accessibility features using iTunes
Connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to any computer with iTunes installed.
    In iTunes, select your device.
From the Summary pane, click Configure Universal Access in the Options section at the bottom.
Select the feature you would like to use and click OK.
You can find the full article here:
    iOS: Configuring accessibility features
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5018
Alternatively, you may have Switch Control turned on.  You can disable this by going to Settings > General > Accessibility > Switch Control.
    iOS: Using Switch Control

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,

  • IPhone 4S will not shut off

Recently my iPhone 4S has not been able to shut off completely. I will shut it off by pressing down on the button on the top, then I would try pressing down the button on the top and the home button but I get the same result. It will shut off the way it is supposed to. Red slider then black screen but almost immediately afterward I get the Apple icon and then it goes back to my password screen (I use a password to get in).
Has anyone else had this problem? I'm avoiding doing a complete restore.

Try a reset first. Press and hold the home and sleep button for at least 10sec until the Apple logo comes back again, ignoring the "slide to turn off" button. You will not lose data by resetting.
If this does not solve the problem, set it up as new device:

Hello, my email is connected to Lotus Notes. When I updated my iPad to iOS 6, it REQUIRED that I have a password for the iPad or else my email wouldn't work or synchronize with Lotus Notes (on my work laptop). This is really frustrating, because I cannot disable the password under General<Passcode. Thanks!

This would almost certainly be a setting that is being enforced by your company. You'll need to talk to them about this.

  • Does anyone elses iPhone 5 just randomly shut off or freeze on a blue screen after only having it for a week??

I got a white 16G iPhone 5 last Sunday (Jan 6th 2013) and I have already been on the phone with apple once and in the store twice about this issue. The phone randomly shuts itself off or freezes on a blue screen for 5-30 minutes at a time. Apple reset my phone thinking that would fix the issue, it didnt. I went into the Sherway location while it was frozen and they told me i couldnt get an appointment until tomorrow so ill have to wait... I'm hoping that they just gave me a dud of a phone and that when i go back in tomorrow they will just give me a new phone because this is getting ridiculous. if this problem continues once they finally give me a new one than i suggest that no one else buys the iPhone 5. I had the 4 and had only one problem in a year and a half, and i've had more in one week with this model. Let me know if anyone else is experiencing this too or if my phone is just a dud.

First I would try restoring from your backup. If that does not work I would restore to factory-new condition and manually add apps and other things back on since there may be something corrupted in your backup.
