Ever Since 10.5.6 update, "Show tempo in LCD" window causes problems

I've been hesitant to install the 10.5.6 update and now that I have I wish I hadn't. When using Garageband '08 if I select the "tempo" window to adjust tempo Garageband UI will cease to function. The music will play/pause with the space bar but will not update. If I open a song that is set to display tempo then the window will never appear, though pressing the space bar will start/stop the music. Has anyone else seen this issue? SHould I just bite the bullet and downgrade the OS? I thought it might be related to Firewire breakout box (firewire 410) but installing the firewire update just made things worse so I disconnected the Firewire box and removed the software. Garageband is still tweaked and somewhat of a resource hog since I started trouble shooting this issue. Any help is much appreciated.

Still searching for help on this one. Since Yesterday I have trashed preferences (no help) and tried the issue in a new user account. Surprise, the user account not affected by this problem. But I haven't found any other preferences to delete. Now that I know its not the OS, but my primary account, does any one have any suggestions? BTW, this all started when a friend sent me one of his songs to work on and I just couldn't open it correctly. I assumed it was a corrupt file and had him re-send it. Same thing both times. So I opened my files and started trying different things. Thats when I noticed if I attempted to change the tempo (now requiring going to the tempo window in '08) even my own songs acted like his on my computer. I know I was adjusting tempo prior to the 10.5.6 update so that's why I thought it had something to do with it, but maybe not. Please Help if you have any ideas.

Ever since the last iTunes update, my cloud movies and TV purchases all vanished from my iTunes library. I go to Settings>Store>Show Cloud Purchases, but Show Cloud Purchases isn't there. So, I go to the store, then click on purchases, and I download anything from my iTunes account. Now, I go to Settings>Store>Show Cloud Purchases, and it is back. I check the box, and my cloud purchases are again back in iTunes.
OK, I wouldn't bother posting this, but a day or so later, it all happens again. Cloud purchases gone, no option to fix in the Settings>Store menu until I go to the store and download something again.
How do I get iTunes for Windows to keep showing my cloud purchases without having to do this silly work-around every day or two?

Audiobooks are not avaiable for redownload from iTunes, though I suspect you may find they are still on your computer even if not currently listed in your library. This may help...
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
Would you mind telling me which anti-virus package you use? It may be that it is disturbing iTunes when it tries to write out the fresh database, as it does after almost any activity with your library. I'm noticing more of this type of problem than usual and trying to see if there is any pattern. It may help to prevent a repeat of the problem if you look at the advanced options for your AV package and see if you can find a way to exclude the iTunes folder from any real-time scanning process.

Ever since the last two updates of iOS 6 I have a blank email screen

Ever since the last two updates I have a lank email screen. I've tried a warm reboot and a cold boot but with no results. I have nothing. Also the battery drains very quickly now. It used to last for two days quite easily and now it barely makes it thru the day and I've actually been using it less. In the time I've been composing this post, it's drained 6%. Additionally, there is considerable lag when using other functions such as photos. I have a 64GB iPad and no where near capacity so that shouldn't be an issue. We are, BTW, down 8% of battery function. Just so frustrating to have a wonderful piece of technology turn into crap.
Prior to the last two updates, it was functioning normally. What's the fix? Please advise. And don't suggest a reboot or complete shutdown because I've tried that.
I am using iPad 3 64GB

PS Down 10% battery capacity

Backup your ipad and then restore it as a new iPad with iTunes on your computer. Check to see if battery use has returned to normal. If it has not then your pad may have a hardware problem. If so contact Apple Support or visit an Apple Store.
If it now functions normally after the restore as new then restore it from the backup you made previously and continue to monitor battery usage.

Google and Apple got into a fight and Google took his ball and went home (or Apple refused to use Google products). No YouTube, either...another Google app. You can download it in App Store. You can also download an app called Maps + Street View. I haven't downloaded, but previews look sharp. You can also go to Google and use their maps on the Internet.

I have the pioneer avh-3400bh. Prior to iOS6 on my iphone 4, everything worked as it should. Upon updating to ios6 on the 4, and now also with the iphone 5, my head unit will play BT audio, but it receives no track/data information. Using USB, I can no longer use my phone to browse songs, I can only use the head unit control. the phones tell me that an accessory is connected and won't allow me to do anything. You can't update FaceTime separately from the rest of iOS, so are you referring to updating iOS? And if so, to which version?

I did do a permissions fix with the disk utility and same problem!

Below where you see the Read and Write permissions on that folder there is a little triangle next to the word Details. Scroll down a bit and you'll see a tab to click to Apply to Enclosed Items. If it says you have read and write on the main folder, click the Apply button to make sure that all folders inside the main folder also have both Read and Write permission.

Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash. Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder. Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space. If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application. In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder. You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder. You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder. Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item. Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder. Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences. Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab. Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS. Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term. Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default. You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, EasyFind, instead.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder. Usually with the same name as the program or the developer. The item generally has a ".pkg" extension. Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.

How do I get my albums and pictures to match correctly? Ever since the last iPhoto update my entire library has been in disarray. i.e. my wedding album have pics from vacation album. Which was not the case before. MacBook Pro 2010

Ever since I did the lastest iPhoto update my picture albums have not correctly matched up with the corresponding photos. i.e. my wedding pictures now show up in my vacation album. The picture thumbnails are not showing me the correct photos.

I have iPhoto '11 with the lastest software update. I forgot what number it currently is. I am vigalant when it comes to the latest software updates. Yes, I did restore my iPhoto pictures from a backup since I founf out I could not share any of my pics using my apeture library since they were not the orginals. So, after the back-up of iPhoto all my pictures albums and the pics in the album do not match up, even the thumbnails. I find this quite annoying. All my albums were working and correctly before this update. As for apeture can I re-master all the photos there masters? so i can just do away with using iPhoto all together?

Ever since I updated my system to 10.9 and updated the numbers, iphoto, imovie, pages etc I have been unable to open my numbers documents. I keep getting a message I need to update. My computer shows I did. Whats happening?

I was opening my documents from the document folder on my dock and that's when I couldn't open them. I also couldn't open them from the old icon for numbers on my dock. I even couldn't open from finder. After recieiving your message I did use the Applications to open numbers and it did work. I also had one document set with a password and I still had problems opening it. Once I got it open I removed the password temporairly and it opens now from the document folder like it used to before. Oh yes, I forgot to mention I removed the old Numbers icon from the dock. Then I dragged the icon from the Applications folder onto my doc and all seems fine.
Thank you for your help, I just don't know why these things just don't update automatically from Apple. Ever since using Apple products these past 3 1/2 years I've decided no more Window's computers. Please to Apple.....is there a way they can take care of these updates beforehand?

I'm operating a new laptop using Windows 7. Ever since the update last Fri, Firefox keeps crashing on most websites I visit. It's very frustrating. I've browsed to folder C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\components but there is no file nsBrowserOpt.dll.

Mozilla do not respond to crash reports that have been submitted. they are used to help analyze the causes of the crashing in order to make Firefox more stable.
Can you post some of the recent crash report IDs as shown in the [[Firefox crashes]] article, that may help somebody identify the cause of your crashes.
