Ever since the first iOS8 update, my 5s constantly disconnects from home wi-fi network even after replacing router
I've been struggling with this issue since the first iOS 8 update but have patiently waited through all the subsequent software updates, hoping the problem would resolve itself, but it has not. I even replaced my router at one point (unrelated reason) and the issue persists. It's possible that the problem isn't just at home, but I really only notice it at home, likely because that's where I am when I'm playing games/watching YouTube/facebooking etc. for long spans of time to where the issue is very problematic. My wi-fi connection CONSTANTLY drops when I'm doing things and switches to the cellular network, which is a huge pain if I'm playing a game that ends itself if you lose your wi-fi connection, or watching YouTube when I don't have unlimited video streaming. Sometimes just pressing the home button and returning to the main screen will bump it back on, but sometimes I have to toggle wi-fi off and on. I've messed with my router settings, rebooted it, done a hard reset on my phone, reset network settings etc. etc. etc. and nothing has fixed this issue.
Any ideas?
I was at dinner tonight and saw someone with the new Blackberry, and for the first time, I found myself seriously considering a new phone at this point as I've been dealing with this for what seems like months and months.

Ever since the last two updates I have a lank email screen. I've tried a warm reboot and a cold boot but with no results. I have nothing. Also the battery drains very quickly now. It used to last for two days quite easily and now it barely makes it thru the day and I've actually been using it less. In the time I've been composing this post, it's drained 6%. Additionally, there is considerable lag when using other functions such as photos. I have a 64GB iPad and no where near capacity so that shouldn't be an issue. We are, BTW, down 8% of battery function. Just so frustrating to have a wonderful piece of technology turn into crap.
Prior to the last two updates, it was functioning normally. What's the fix? Please advise. And don't suggest a reboot or complete shutdown because I've tried that.

PS Down 10% battery capacityBackup your ipad and then restore it as a new iPad with iTunes on your computer. Check to see if battery use has returned to normal. If it has not then your pad may have a hardware problem. If so contact Apple Support or visit an Apple Store.
If it now functions normally after the restore as new then restore it from the backup you made previously and continue to monitor battery usage. -
Ever since the last iTunes update, my cloud movies and TV purchases all vanished from my iTunes library. I go to Settings>Store>Show Cloud Purchases, but Show Cloud Purchases isn't there. So, I go to the store, then click on purchases, and I download anything from my iTunes account. Now, I go to Settings>Store>Show Cloud Purchases, and it is back. I check the box, and my cloud purchases are again back in iTunes.
OK, I wouldn't bother posting this, but a day or so later, it all happens again. Cloud purchases gone, no option to fix in the Settings>Store menu until I go to the store and download something again.
How do I get iTunes for Windows to keep showing my cloud purchases without having to do this silly work-around every day or two?Audiobooks are not avaiable for redownload from iTunes, though I suspect you may find they are still on your computer even if not currently listed in your library. This may help...
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
Would you mind telling me which anti-virus package you use? It may be that it is disturbing iTunes when it tries to write out the fresh database, as it does after almost any activity with your library. I'm noticing more of this type of problem than usual and trying to see if there is any pattern. It may help to prevent a repeat of the problem if you look at the advanced options for your AV package and see if you can find a way to exclude the iTunes folder from any real-time scanning process.

I have the pioneer avh-3400bh. Prior to iOS6 on my iphone 4, everything worked as it should. Upon updating to ios6 on the 4, and now also with the iphone 5, my head unit will play BT audio, but it receives no track/data information. Using USB, I can no longer use my phone to browse songs, I can only use the head unit control. the phones tell me that an accessory is connected and won't allow me to do anything. Same for the pandora app -
Since the last AppleTV update I can no longer use home sharing. I have checked all IDs, re-booted iTunes, my router, and AppleTV, and checked the port settings in my firewall. nothing works. Is it me or did this last update really scew things up?

I'm now more than convinced that this is caused by the latest iTunes version.
As some others stated in other threads .... it seems that Apple doesn't really take care of this problem. So what if, if we could make them feeling the same pain as we do. ... Just by dropping them a mail as soon as we have the problem again. Not more often, we don't want to be unfair, but everytime it happens.

Since the last update to iTunes Version 10.6.1 (7) streaming content (Movies and TV shows) to Apple TVs and iPads has two major problems:
- Home Sharing is lost during streaming (streaming stops even if a large portion of the content is already preloaded)
- streaming stops and the main screen pops up (Home Sharing still available)
This happens sometime after some minutes, sometimes after several hours, but it surely happens.
I followed every advice I could found on this support website. There are now a lot of threads following this issue.
Sometimes it seems getting better, but hours later the same isues occured again. Watching content on this enviroment is a real pain and very frustrating.
As many others I'm now convinced that the latest update of iTunes caused this problem.
Our family enviroment contains the following Apple products:
- iTunes on a Win7 32 bit Noname PC (all content)
- second iTunes on a iMac with OS 10.6.8 (all content)
- third iTunes on a MacBook Pro with OS 10.6.8 (daughter, only selected content)
- fourth iTunes on a Win7 32 Samsung Notebook (son, only selected content)
- all iTunes sharing the same Home Sharing ID
- 2 Apple TV second generation
- 1 Apple TV first generation
- 2 iPod touch (bought last year)
- 2 iPads (second generation)
all firmware or software are on latest available patchlevel.
At this moment, I can not recomend to others to buy this products.
I will drop this feedback everytime my famiily and I facing this problem... just to help you to get a better feeling of the urgency of this issue.

Ever since I did the lastest iPhoto update my picture albums have not correctly matched up with the corresponding photos. i.e. my wedding pictures now show up in my vacation album. The picture thumbnails are not showing me the correct photos.

iPhone 4I have iPhoto '11 with the lastest software update. I forgot what number it currently is. I am vigalant when it comes to the latest software updates. Yes, I did restore my iPhoto pictures from a backup since I founf out I could not share any of my pics using my apeture library since they were not the orginals. So, after the back-up of iPhoto all my pictures albums and the pics in the album do not match up, even the thumbnails. I find this quite annoying. All my albums were working and correctly before this update. As for apeture can I re-master all the photos there masters? so i can just do away with using iPhoto all together?

Ever since I updated my system to 10.9 and updated the numbers, iphoto, imovie, pages etc I have been unable to open my numbers documents. I keep getting a message I need to update. My computer shows I did. Whats happening?
I was opening my documents from the document folder on my dock and that's when I couldn't open them. I also couldn't open them from the old icon for numbers on my dock. I even couldn't open from finder. After recieiving your message I did use the Applications to open numbers and it did work. I also had one document set with a password and I still had problems opening it. Once I got it open I removed the password temporairly and it opens now from the document folder like it used to before. Oh yes, I forgot to mention I removed the old Numbers icon from the dock. Then I dragged the icon from the Applications folder onto my doc and all seems fine.
Thank you for your help, I just don't know why these things just don't update automatically from Apple. Ever since using Apple products these past 3 1/2 years I've decided no more Window's computers. Please to Apple.....is there a way they can take care of these updates beforehand? -

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.

I go to settings and switch "Automatic time" off and then back on. It works for a while, but then just goes back to being off. I've tried manually setting the time, but it just goes back to what it was before. If I send a text, it sends and then disapears. I can't see what I wrote! I went in to Apple to try and get it fixed, but they just restored my phone. It's still not working. Please help!
It's not hacker or a virus. You are experiencing what a number of users of iOS 5 are experiencing now - sluggish or less than perfect iPad performance. It seems that for some of us - memory management has gotten a little out of whack with this most recent update. Some of the basic troubleshooting steps that you can try are ....
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Close apps in the recents tray. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If you have Safari crashing issues - Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
None of these steps should be necessary as part of your daily routine - the iOS is supposed to handle all of this without any user input. Once again - for some of us - the iOS is letting us down.
Until Apple releases another update that resolves this issue for the "few" that suffer, keep these steps in mind and use them as needed. -
My Iphone 5 and Itunes no longer sync after I updated my IOS to 7.1 I have done multiple things to troubleshoot. Uninstalled drivers, reinstalled drivers, uninstalled Itunes, reinstalled Itunes, etc.. It will not show my Iphone in Itunes anymore and will not sync.

At lunchtime yesterday when I went online, I got the message "checking add-on compatibility with this version of Firefox;" subsequently, the Yoono sidebar displayed as a solid black box. Disabling and re-enabling Yoono didn't help, nor did removing and reinstalling Yoono, nor did restarting the computer. I've come to rely on Yoono to advise me of YouTube & Facebook updates without me having to directly visit my YouTube or Facebook home page and scrolling through all the updates myself - and I really miss not having the Yoono sidebar around!
please directly contact the extension developers - they can likely give you more detailed guidance and are the only ones who can fix bugs or make necessary adjustments in the addon for new firefox versions. thank you...

I am using an apple ipad 2, have always used facebook on it since I purchased it. now, tryig to open facebook, I receive only a white blank page. the only thing is that at the very top, it shows ' ipad with wifi running middle -- time and at the right end.. the battery amount. then my my white page. I am not understanding?
Quit the Facebook app then reset the iPad.
Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
