Ever since updating to latest version of Firefox it has been painfully slow on my Mac running OS 10.5.8.
Websites just hang, and never get to where they are supposed to go. The status loop on tabs just spins and spins but never loads the site. Go to the same site on Safari and there in a second. It is like dial up slow. Have tried all the troubleshooting tips(reset, delete/re-create profiles, uninstall/reinstall, updated flash) nothing works.
Firefox had been working fine until latest update. What gives?

I've tried all the obvious things like resarting the PC as well as the i Pods tried different patch cables but the i Tunes software will no longer recognize my i Pods. I have automatic sync selected, but I even tried to manually sync by clicking on devices under File but the sync icon is "grayed" out. When I look under Preferences and click on devices the serial numbers of my i Pods appear and are correct but again will not recognize the i Pod when plugged in to the PC. Bottom line I'm dead in the water....appreciate any suggestions....thanks

I regulardy used my Memory Card to download pictures, but its only since updating the new version of Firefox it wont read the Memory Card. I have no information on the screen of my computer when I put the Memory Card in.

There are a number of similar topics in this forum over the last few days. There are indications that this problem may be caused by a rootkit infection.
Google "scan for rootkits" to find if your machine is infected.

Do you have Sync over wifi enabled for this device?
Click on the device name, Scroll down the summary page to options and the second box is Sync Via Wifi. If you do not want this uncheck it and click apply

From here it looks like you used Safari instead. Lots of choices that's what I like.
You did end Firefox and try to restart didn't you?
If you did then I would expect you have a problem with your Firewall, and would have had it before, does not affect IE, it does affect Firefox, I don't know about other browsers. See

First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive might be failing.
There are a few other possible causes of generalized slow performance that you can rule out easily.
If you have many image or video files on the Desktop with preview icons, move them to another folder.
If applicable, uncheck all boxes in the iCloud preference pane.
Disconnect all non-essential wired peripherals and remove aftermarket expansion cards, if any.
Otherwise, take the steps below when you notice the slowdown.
Step 1
Launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Activity Monitor in the icon grid.
Select the CPU tab of the Activity Monitor window.
Select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected.
Click the heading of the % CPU column in the process table to sort the entries by CPU usage. You may have to click it twice to get the highest value at the top. What is it, and what is the process? Also post the values for % User, % System, and % Idle at the bottom of the window.
Select the System Memory tab. What values are shown in the bottom part of the window for Page outs and Swap used?
Next, select the Disk Activity tab. Post the approximate values shown for Reads in/sec and Writes out/sec (not Reads in and Writes out.)
Step 2
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way you launched Activity Monitor. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Select the 50 or so most recent entries in the log. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V). You're looking for entries at the end of the log, not at the beginning.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some personal information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting. That should be easy to do if your extract is not too long.

Ever since last night my macbook pro 13 inch has been doing weird and not so wonderful things. It will only power up with the power pack attached as soon as the battery pack is removed my lappy goes dead. The charge icon shows when its connected. Also if the lid is shut while it is still operating and not been shut down it completely shuts down, whether or not it has been shut down properly it takes 4-5 attempts of opening and closing the lid to get it to start up. It only seems to restart with the lid closed and only reason I know it has is because the apple icon lights up. When I finally get it started up the clock has reset itself back to 2008, requests for internet access pops up, outlook is not allowing me to delete emails, etc. Help!!!

yea man you need to take it to the Apple store ASAP. This is why I bought the Apple Care warranty when I bought my Macbook pro. At the Apple store they will trouble shot your problem and if it cant be fixed you may end up with a new lappy toppy good luck my friend, hope everything goes good, and your partner isn't to badly damaged

U-tube video flicker since updating to latest version

When watching video on u-tube the picture flickers left to right since I updated to the latest version.
This problem doesn't occur with internet explorer.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. 
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. 
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Since updating to latest version (10.5.1) I cannot open iTunes

I updated to the latest version of iTunes a few days ago. This is the 10.5.1.42 version.
I am running Windows 7 Professional (x86) on a Dell Vostro 200 Slim Tower, 1.2GHz Processor, 4GB RAM, plenty of HDD space available.
After updating to that particular version, I am now no longer able to open iTunes. In Task Manager I can see the program open then instantly close. I have attempted to fetch a log from Event Viewer but I've had problems.
I've tried finding the answer to this on here but currently I haven't found anything relating to it.
If anyone has any ideas, I would be willing to try.
I was considering just rolling back but I dunno if this has now corrupted my iTunes Library or whatever.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Do you currently have a copy of the QuickTime Player installed on the PC? If so, is that also failing to launch (with or without an error message?)

Since updating to latest version of ITunes it won't share with Apple TV

Updated to the latest version of Itunes and now it will not share with Apple TV even though home sharing is turned on. Apple TV does everything but allow me to play from ITunes on my PC. I can use airplay on my IPhone 5 no problem. I can use all other Apple TV features except home sharing. Apple TV is saying basically that my ITunes does not have home sharing turned on? HELP!!!!!

Home sharing is turned on within ITunes yet apple TV says on the computer icon that: To access your ITunes library on Apple TV turn on home sharing in ITunes on your computer using (my email address)
It is turned on?
I have so far restored Apple TV to its factory settings
Uninstalled ITunes and reinstalled it
Tried to install an earlier version of ITunes however even that says cannot use library due to being created by a later version of ITunes.
Really not sure what to do next?

That error seems to be new with Firefox 4 - never heard of it with earlier versions of Firefox, but it goes back many years in various Windows programs.
