Every page I open in Firefox looks cramped.

Every page I open in Firefox looks like the formatting is wrong. Even this page...the fields overlap. Particularly if it is a retail/shopping site, I can hardly read product descriptions or whatever because everything is on top of each other. Pictures, text, etc. I thought it might be the 'magnify' feature so I shrunk the size. Nope! just made it impossible to read and still cramped looking. The kicker is, none of this happens in Explorer. :-(. I hate Explorer and really would like to get this resolved. thanks for your help.

hello, please go through the solutions described in the websites look wrong-help article, it covers the most common issues that apply to the problem as you've described it. thnx

I am not able to click on top portion of every web page.I have been facing this problem since yesterday. first thought came to me was that it might be hardware problem but it is not since other browsers are working quite well.

The Yahoo! Toolbar extension has been reported to cause this issue.

• Amost every page I open, Firefox asks whether to enable Flash player. How to get rid of this nagging pest ?

Amost every page I open, Firefox takes a line off my netbook screen to ask whether to enable Flash player.
How to get rid of this nagging pest ?

downloaded 17MB flash installer from Adobe website.
This download did not run properly, reporting that it had some error.
Still plagued with FireFox queries about Flash.
Don't much care about having flash plugin in FireFox.
Prefer to download a flash file, scan with virus checker, then play it with VideoLAN.
So I disabled Flash plugin to "Never Ask" but still the noxious popup
"FireFox has prevented the outdated plugin "Adobe Flash" from running on helpx.adobe.com. Continue Blocking ? Allow ... X"

• How do i stop the "update to 6.o" every time i open my firefox?

every time i open my firefox a download "update to 6.0" appears. tried 'x-ing' out, tried repeated 'no' on the install now and after 12 days of it sick of it. how do i get rid of these? i didn't want 4.0, so why should i want 6.0? i am content with my 3.16. that i have been using and don't wish to change.

• Downloaded Firefox yesterday. Every time I open the Firefox browser, it starts in Safe Mode even though I have shut down and restarted my computer several times

I have Windows OS. I downloaded Firefox yesterday. Every time I open the Firefox browser, it starts in safe mode. I have restarted my machine several times -- Firefox still starts in Safe Mode. My favorites from IE copied to Firefox fine, and Firefox is now my default browser...it just keeps opening in Safe Mode.

I downloaded the toolbar. When I was done using the computer, I put it to "sleep." The next time I "woke" the computer and went to Firefox, the toolbar was gone. When I downloaded the toolbar again, I got a box in the upper left hand corner of the screen stating Firefox BLOCKED the toolbar, and did I want to allow it. There was NO option to allow always-it's just a one time deal. When I shut down for the day, I expected it to remain, but no-next time I fired up firefox, NO TOOLBAR. I pulled up Inbox dollars again, clicked on download toolbar, got the box stating it's blocking the toolbar, etc, etc, etc. Unless Firefox upgrades daily, or in some cases, several times in one day, I'm going to stick with my description that the toolbar magically disappears EVERY TIME I OPEN
FIREFOX!!!
I don't profess to be any type of computer whiz, I'm totally self-taught, and it's not beyond the realm of possibility that I'm doing something wrong. I've been using Firefox for about a week, so I'd welcome any help!

It's just the Google homepage tribute to Pacman turning 30 today. A playable game starts up automatically, use the arrow keys to move Pacman. It's fun!
You can get Ms Pacman to appear in that game by clicking the "insert coin" button twice and using the WASD keys to move :)
You can also just change your homepage to something other than google until tomorrow.

• Every single page I open on Firefox never fully loads.

The content loads, but the blue circle is constantly spinning on the tab of every website I open. It's not my internet connection because Firefox works on my brother's macbook, and everything else internet related works absolutely fine. Just Firefox never fully loads anything. Firefox is up to date.

Hi nicoleschaafsma-
You might want to try reading this Support article for troubleshooting websites that hang. There are a lot of suggestions on how to identify and fix the issue:
https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Firefox%20never%20finishes%20loading%20certain%20websites
Hope that helps!

• Every time I open up Firefox, it opens up my previous session, how do I stop this?

Just recently, every time we open up a new Firefox window, the previous session will show up. I do not want the old session to appear. How can I stop this? I have checked my options and it is set to my homepage but still the previous session always appears.

You probably already have checked the Options dialog to make sure Firefox is still set to start up with your home page. In case you haven't, this article has the steps:
* Startup, home page and download settings
Sometimes and add-on or external program will create a user.js file in your Firefox settings (profile) folder, and Firefox will use this file to override your previous session settings. To track down and remove a user.js file, please see the steps in this article: How to fix preferences that won't save.
Note: By default, Windows 7 hides the .js file extension. To unhide it, so you can work with file names as accurately as possible, please see this Microsoft support article: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hide-file-name-extensions
Any luck?

• How to get rid of rpc-8.html. It pops up every time I open my Firefox.

It happened 2 days ago for the first time. Each time I opened Firefox, the browser asked me either download or save rpc-3. html . Finely I saved it. From now on, each time I open my Firefox the browser opens file rpc-8.html as a pop up. I scanned my computer for viruses with updated Norton without any help.

See:

• A you-tube video page (how to download a video) keeps attaching itself to every window I open in Firefox, but I can't close it or get to it.

The sound of the video sometimes plays in the background, but I can't get to it to turn it off. Also I was getting a double slider but only the one for the page I was really working in was active, but the bogus page will show up (flash up) when I navigate to another page on the site I'm working on. I deleted firefox and downloaded a new one and reinstalled, so now the second slider doesn't show up (or hasn't yet), but the same video page is there. Is this a virus or bug thing? Doesn't happen in other broswers (Safari and chrome).

Did you check the home page setting?
*Firefox > Preferences > General > Startup: Home page
*https://support.mozilla.org/kb/How+to+set+the+home+page
If you do not keep changes after a restart then see:
You can also check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox Profile Folder that store session data.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
*http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

• Using the HTML Validator for Firefox, I have found that every page I open has errors, not just the ones I have designed; why?

Even using it on this page there are 5 errors geneated.
I am using HTML Tidy.
Is there something wrong? Am I using it incorrectly?

I checked and agree this page does not pass validation

That validator is an official w3.org validator
*http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Wide_Web_Consortium
* http://www.w3.org/
I suppose it could be expected these pages would pass validation. I will mark this for escalation lets see what HelpDesk's observations are on that.
I also note that html tidy appears to be a utility originating from w3.org

• Every page I open is tiny, every time I open it, How can I make tham ALL bigger all the time

I installed FF4, and now the all the web pages I visit must be zoomed in, each and every time I visit them.
I reinstalled FF3.16, and now I've got the same problem with it. Man this really sucks, as before I could actually use this browser fairly easily.

The Firefox Page Zoom feature does a domain by domain level of saving the users preferred zoom level settings, there is no default Page Zoom level setting in Firefox.
Try the Default FullZoom Level extension: <br />

Or the NoSquint extension: <br />

• How do I stop tracking cookies from respawning every time I open a Firefox window?

I'm in Firefox 21. I tried to delete my cookies, but when I close and reopen the "Show Cookies" window, all cookies have respawned, including many third party advertising cookies from sites I have never visited, sites such as 2o7.net, interclick.com, adlegend.com, and about a hundred others. This is in spite of the fact that I have "Accept third-party cookies" unclicked. How can I delete these advertising tracking cookies and ensure that they never come back?

Additional Detail: If I close all tabs and windows of Firefox, then the cookies do not respawn; the cookies window then remains empty. However, once I open a window and navigate to any page, they all come back.
