WHere is the 100% option? This is rediculous - a web browser that insists on using 60% of the screen.

TAKE THE WHOLE SCREEN.My control key is wore out... literally. It's held together with glue and tape and honey. Because I have to hit ctrl-+ ctrl-+ ctrl-+ ctrl-+ ctrl-+ on every single web site.
Because there is no option - 100%, that's the deal. Make the stuff 100%. How hard can that possibly be? -

Have a 2006 MBP core duo that Safari seems to stall and not load web pages using wireless or CAT 5, have reloaded the OS starting with Tiger and have progressed thru Snow Leopard and still no luck, I-chat works no issues and have done all the updates both wireless and via CAT 5, any suggestions?Try emptying the Safari cache more often. Command + Option + E
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that didn't help, from your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Cllick Change Settings from the Proxies pop up menu. That will launch System Preferences for you.
Deselect any checked boxes on the left under Select a protocol to configure then click OK.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test. -

I have a Mac running OS 10.8.5 and I use Acrobat Pro and Acrobat Reader. Today for some reason, any time I try and access a pdf file from a web page, it won't open. I get a blank window. PDF files already on my computer open fine and I can create PDF files from Word docs, but I can't download or view any pdf file from any web page. Strangely, PDF files on web pages open just fine on my iPhone.
I checked that both my copy of Acrobat Pro and Acrobat Reader are up-to-date. They are.
I checked that my copy of Firefox is up-to-date. It is. And nothing changed with Firefox within the last 24 hours.
I am a humble computer end-user. I am baffled as to why this would suddenly not work. I have not changed any settings, etc. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Thank you.
I checked your instructions you sent and as far as I can tell all of my settings, etc for Firefox (plugin updates and preferences) are correct but I am having the same problem.
However, everything works in Safari. I don't have time to attempt to diagnose why Firefox no longer works. I will just switch to Safari.

Well crap! Internet explorer goes direct to actual pdf, would'nt you know it, safari wont! I will have to change my pdf order form to include instructions on how to find that toggle thing at the bottom so it wont wig out safari users.
Kind of *****, if people dont know they have to click the open in preview choice, my form wont work.
Thought maybe it was an HTML issue that could be overidden.

I can go to every other website except for facebook. I try every other browser in my computer but the only thing I can see is HTTP 500 error and 404 Not Found. I tried clearing cache history and cookies, enabling cookies, checking my modem, make sure my firewall permits me to access this web and even pt 's' in front of 'http' but it still dosent work. I can go to facebook with my dad's laptop and my handphone but not with this computer, why?

I am trying to open PDF files from safari, but when I click on them they open in a separate window and the information is encrypted. Any ideas on how to get them to open them in Adobe? Any help please!
The pdf is loading as html code. If you save it, it will download as :

Change the extension to .pdf

The word app has disappeared from my desktop computer and can't be found on finder or search. All documents I created on word will now not open unless in "TextEdit" format which I don't use. Any ideas please? Thanks

Thanks JudyThe lack of security updates requires me to update any old OS. Unless you never connect to anything on the Internet with the computer OR you never have anything to protect on your computer running such a computer leaves you open to theft, fraud, etc. The major problem with Mavericks and soon with OS X.X is unfamiliarity. Sure they have features we don’t like. But I bet so did the one you are running, when you upgraded to it.
Having said that I really got miffed when I was required to update my TV to work with digital signals. I have no trouble telling people to upgrade their computer, but ask me to upgrade my TV those were fighting words. -
I can't open any of my Word documents on my Apple Mac. The error code is EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT) and the blame module name is WordArt. The documents are still there, and I can open them on my iPad when I email them there. Any ideas?
Uhhhhh... Thank GOD... Got all of my files.
Spent some time on the phone with Apple Care... who was great to deal with but actually... not as helpful as I was hoping. It was suggested that I try DiskWarrior 4 to try to recover the files. $108 later, I had no files.
More calls with Apple Care and they were pretty sure that everything was gone since once the External drive was installed, like a moron, I let TimeMachine go ahead and back up my new MacBook... so it overwrote who knows how many gig that was my entire MacBook.
I wasn't giving up so I called Maxtor, the manufacturer of the external drive itself. They suggested file recovery software from I365... which is also a Seagate company (the makers of the drive). The suggested I simply use their demo because the demo version would find the files. If it found them, I could buy the software to restore them.
It found them! Another $129 after and I was able to restore all of them back to my old PC laptop.
NOW, I just need to figure out how to get the 50gig of HD video files off of my old laptop now and into my Mac and IMovie so I can actually make some DVDs out of them!
I get that Macs and PCs are different formats but I think it is ridiculous that formatting still means basically just wiping out or at least treating massive lots of old data as if it isn't there. There's gotta be a better way to do that. -

i found the error!
little snitch on os x blocks something (i dont know what exact) of adobe in the background. i have no rule defined for adobe in little snitch, so everything of adobe can go out.
when i stop little snitch, everything works fine - photoshop opens videos without the medialink error, photoshop starts up in seconds and premiere starts without a quicktime error.
i report the problem also to objective developement to fix this!
