Every time I click on my firefox icon I am asked if I would like to make changes to my hardware as if it is the initial download .

I have the Firefox icon on my tiles, task bar and start menu. But whenever I click any of them I get the Are you sure you want to make changes to your hardware message box everytime. When I click yes Firefox comes up but why does that require hardware changes?

Hello Sondralyn, make sure that Firefox isn't set to run as Administrator.
right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut, choose "Properties" and be sure
that all items are '''not''' selected in "Compatibility" tab > "Compatibility mode" section > Run this program in compatibility mode [ ].

I keep running the firefox update but the next time I click on my firefox icon it opens an older version and asks me to update. What is going on?

I downloaded and ran the update to Firefox. It said it was successful and then the welcome page etc. came up. However, after I had closed down and started up again the "old" version came up when I clicked on the Firefox icon with the usual comment that I have an old version and should update. I have tried this three times with the same result. I have a Compaq Presario 2200 laptop.
What am I doing wrong?

If you use the www.google.com/firefox site as home page that previous Firefox 3 versions use as the home page then you can ignore the message about not using the latest Firefox version on that page. 
Google no longer seems to maintain that page. 
The text about not running the latest Firefox version is in the code of the www.google.com/firefox site that previous Firefox 3 versions use as the home page and it looks that Google no longer maintains that page. 
Current Firefox 4+ versions no longer use that Google website as the home page, but use the build-in about:home page as the home page. 
Google assumes that you use an older Firefox version if you still visit that site and warns you that you use an older Firefox version and suggests to update. 
You can use another page as the home page like about:home or www.google.com or www.google.com/ig (iGoogle).

I use yahoo as my homepage and simply click on the home icon and keep getting this message. On my tabs then I have one of RESTORE SESSION which consists if this message as well as a tab for MY YAHOO. This has only started recently so must have something to do with an upgrade?

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the sessionstore.js [2] file and possible sessionstore-##.js [3] files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

'Java Script Application' box pops up every time double click on FF6.0 icon.

1)In the box: "TypeError.Components.classes [cid] is undefined", appears. There is a yellow triangle w/! mark. Below that is small box with "OK" inside. I click it and FF opens.
2)FF 6 seems to be running slower than usual. Almost as if each update eliminates my 'adons' and runs a little slower.
Any fixes for #1?

Other users have reported that this is caused by one of their add-ons. I suggest going to the Add-ons page and disabling everything that is not essential, and then restarting Firefox. Hopefully it's not caused by something you really rely on.

Quit Safari
Usually, these pop-ups will not go away by either clicking "OK" or "Cancel." Furthermore, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in gray, including the option to quit Safari. You will likely have to force quit Safari. To do this, press Command + option + esc, select Safari, and press Force Quit.
Relaunch Safari
If you relaunch Safari, the page will reopen. To prevent this from happening, hold down the 'Shift' key while opening Safari. This will prevent windows from the last time Safari was running from reopening.
This will not work in all cases. The shift key must be held at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window reappears. There is no need to download anything to solve this problem. You may have installed a variant of the "VSearch" ad-injection malware.

Every time I click on Firefox icon, Bridge Base Online opens in a new window.

Every time I click on Firefox Icon, a window appears requesting if it is OK for Firefox to change Registry settings. If I click "yes" it then proceeds normally. If I click "no" it also proceeds normally. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and find the same. I have the latest version 4-0-1.

Check that you do not run Firefox as Administrator. 
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties". 
Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window. 
* Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected 
* "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" should not be selected 
Also check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program directory.
If you can't make the changes then you need to start Windows Explorer as Administrator.

On opening and every time I click the home icon, a second tab opens entitled "customizing firefoxx with add-ons

I tried uninstall and reinstall of Firefox but the pesky tab still opens every time I click the home icon. To make it worse I get a new tab every time which means I can have multiple customizing tabs opening during a single session. How can I stop this happening?

How can I stop Firefox from 'talking' every time I click a new item on my laptop screen?

Without my doing anything, all of a sudden my Firefox started talking every time I click something on my laptop screen. Example: I clicked the link that took me to this page. Firefox said "new window... Firefox menu ... Ask a New Question ..." I don't need this, it interferes with all that I do that requires my speaker turned on. How can I stop this?

Use "All Sites" to set the defaults.
You can open about:xxxx pages via the location bar like you open a website. 
Firefox uses the about: protocol to access internal Firefox (setting) pages.
