Every time I click on my homepage icon firefox says it "Firefox is having trouble recovering your windows and tabs. This is usually caused by a recently opened web paage." What is suddenly going on here?

I use yahoo as my homepage and simply click on the home icon and keep getting this message. On my tabs then I have one of RESTORE SESSION which consists if this message as well as a tab for MY YAHOO. This has only started recently so must have something to do with an upgrade?

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the sessionstore.js [2] file and possible sessionstore-##.js [3] files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Every time I turn on my computer and start-up Firefox, I get the error "Well, this is embarrassing. Firefox is having trouble recovering your windows and tabs. This is usually caused by a recently opened web page."

This happens even though the last session was closed properly. Google is set as my homepage. I only have a Norton Toolbar.
This is not only embarrassing but highly annoying - enough to consider switching to another browser. Please help!

hello, this may also be the current problem in firefox 20 that when you first close all open firefox windows and then close the application afterwards it is mistaken for a crash - the bug should be addressed in a later version of firefox.
as a workaround in the meanwhile you could close firefox (through firefox > quit) while the browser window is still running or try this: enter about:config into the firefox location bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named '''browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash'''. double-click it and change its value to '''false'''.

Clear the contents of ...iTunes\iTunes Media\Download and try one more time.
If the problem recurs use the "report a problem" links in your account history and explain what has happened so far. There may be a problem with the source rather than your download of it.

You've tried closing and re-opening iTunes and/or rebooted your computer and you have the latest version of iTunes installed ?

'Java Script Application' box pops up every time double click on FF6.0 icon.

1)In the box: "TypeError.Components.classes [cid] is undefined", appears. There is a yellow triangle w/! mark. Below that is small box with "OK" inside. I click it and FF opens.
2)FF 6 seems to be running slower than usual. Almost as if each update eliminates my 'adons' and runs a little slower.
Any fixes for #1?

Other users have reported that this is caused by one of their add-ons. I suggest going to the Add-ons page and disabling everything that is not essential, and then restarting Firefox. Hopefully it's not caused by something you really rely on.

Every time I visit CNN I get a message saying that Firefox prevented the page from automatically reloading. I want to allow this. How can I do this? Why does Firefox make this so difficult? It's just a news site...

I want to allow CNN.com and other news and weather pages as well as blogs to automatically reload. I cannot figure out how to do so. Every other browser I've ever used has a way of allowing certain "trusted" sites to reload. All I get is an icon that says "Allow" but when I click on it the message instantly reappears and the only way to get rid of it is to "X" out of it which defeats the purpose completely.

That shouldn't block refreshes.<br />
If that happens then check your extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions)

Every time I click on a link, an OLD version of Firefox keeps opening, I don't know how to eliminate the old version (I don't see it in the applications folder). This hasn't happened with any other upgrades to Firefox. Can you help?

This happens when I get an email with a link attached. Also, every single time I open up the NEW version, it defaults to the "welcome to Firefox 4" page. Is there a way to make it stop doing that too? Did I just download the new version too soon, before the bugs were worked out?

Version 3.6.16 is opening....as it did when I clicked the link in your email message to me about this situation. The upgraded version (Firefox4) sits in my dock and the old version opens when I click on a link.

Why do I have to sign into my homepage every time I click the home tab??

every time I click on the HOME icon, I get my basic webpage that asks me to sign in. why is this happening?? the att.yahoo page gives the option of "keep me signed in for 2 weeks unless I sign out" & I have this box checked. I was using IE & Chrome until today & both of those ISP's kept me signed in. what's up with Mozilla??

* You need an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep that cookie, especially for secure websites and if you let cookies expire when Firefox closes
* Make sure that you not run Firefox in (permanent) [[Private Browsing]] mode
* Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"
Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and password exceptions.

Yosemite/XCode 6.1 Freezes when every time I click in "images.xcassets"

After updating my XCode to version 6.1 in my Yosemite , the IDE freezes every time I click in "images.xcassets". I've already closed my project, created a new one, and the result is the same when I click in "images.xcassets" on the left side.

Just downloaded xcode 6.1.x on a macbook pro running Yosemite. I am able to create a project and bring an Image View object into the storyboard. But when i click on images.xcassets to import images, xcode just hangs. None of the steps below work :
deleted project and created a new project
deleted project.xcworkspace
deleted Xcode and did a fresh install

Every time I click on Firefox icon, Bridge Base Online opens in a new window.

My wife plays bridge with this program. All of a sudden, a week ago, every time I click on the Firefox icon on the desk top the Firefox page opens and then immediately the bridge program opens. In order to use Firefox I have to open a new window. I have tried rebooting.
