Every time I close Firefox I lose my address and seach bar.

When I close or "X" out of Fire fox then go back in (even after a few seconds) I lose my Address bar and Search bar. I have tried resetting the defaults and adding in the other icons (cut, copy, past, print, ect...) and have even created a tool bar just for the two.

no luck deleted the file and restarted FF but after making changes (adding a tool bar for URL and search), closing and re-opening I still lost the added tool bar.
Edit: The two do stay if I don't add the extra bar. Thanks for the help I'm just going to have to get use to it I guess.

Make sure that Firefox closes properly and that that there are no longer Firefox or plugin-container processes left on the Processes tab in the Task Manager. Otherwise session restore will reopen the page(s) from the previous session.

  • How can I stop Acrobat Reader from popping up every time I close Firefox?

Every time I close Firefox, after my browser window closes, Acrobat Reader pops up. Is there a way to stop this from happening. I already went into the "Add-Ons" and disabled it, but it continues to occur.

It doesn't :-) I was desperate, there is nowhere on the Internet giving the information on how to block pop-ups on just IE (not all of Microsoft) But thank you anyway. :-) FYI I installed IE 9 then deleted IE all together.

  • Everytime I close firefox it loses my passwords and settings

everytime I close firefox it loses my passwords and settings, I went and took the tick out of the box so that when I clean my cache they should not be deleted. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled firefox, and it still will not remember passwords etc. I am running windows 7, plenty of ram and gigs to spare. This time I installed mozilla firefox yahoo!7 edition yahooauk-1.8 it says it is up to date

Go to Options -> Advanced -> General and turn off hardware acceleration.

I am trying to convert an Illustrator cs6 file to a PDF and every time I do it, I lose all text and images. Can someone provide some assistance? Thank you!

It's always a good idea to supply platform and AI version info.
How are you "converting" the file? Are you choosing "Save As" and selecting PDF from the file format options? This will bring up additional save options. I would suggest "Illustrator Default" setting unless you have specific needs.

  • I use speeddial addon and it now keeps going off every time I close firefox and I need to reinstall it every time. What can I do to stop this happening? Thanks!

    My homepage now says
XML Parsing Error: no element found
    Location: chrome://speeddial/content/speeddial.xul
    Line Number 1, Column 1
    every time I open firefox.
I then have to reinstall speeddial every time I start up. This never used to happen before and I don't think I've changed any settings.

Been in touch with the author of the product and got the following reply:
The problem is the SiteAdvisor extension that McAfee installs; go to Tools > Add-ons, in the resulting panel select "Extensions", locate SiteAdvisor, click on it to select, and then click the "Disable" button; Speed Dial will work perfectly after that.
I already contacted them to attempt to fix the problem, but no reply so far. The problem happens before any Speed Dial code is executed, so I don't think I can fix it on my side.
Don't have the problem any more, note I had a McAfee update just before the problem started happening.

  • Almost every time I open Firefox some bookmarks move up, and down the sidebar. Anyone know how I can fix this frustrating problem?

I have many bookmarks in folders. The folders, and some plain book marks move up or down from where I place them every time I open I open Firefox 4.0. I have even put them back to where I want them to be, and next time I open Firefox they move like they are playing Hide & Seek! Also from time to time there are new bookmarks added named "about:blank: I deleted the 8 ones created last week a few days ago, and now have 6 more! I am also having problems deleting some plugins, but that is another issue to worry about later.

Any chance you are using the Sync service?

Check that you do not run Firefox as Administrator.
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".
Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.
    * Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
    * "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" should not be selected
Also check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).

  • After upgrading to the newer version of Firefox, a lose all my tabs every time I close. I've done what was suggested in the FAQx, but I still lose them all when I close. I want to fix this. How?

I want to know how to have my tabs save when I close Firefox. I did what was suggested in the FAQs section, but all my tabs disappear every time I close Firefox, whether using the "exit" command, or the "X" button. This was the very reason I never updated to the new version previously, but had hoped that the problem had been addressed and upgraded, now I'm stuck with having to reopen every tab every time I open Firefox. Please tell me there is a way to correct this. And, I'm not fluent in technospeak, so I need simple, basic instructions. Thank you. Mark

    Hi,
Pressing '''Alt''' + '''T''' on the keyboard brings up the '''Tools''' menu.
To see the full menu bar temporarily, press '''Alt''' or '''F10'''.
To make the menu bar permanently visible, right-click on the '''+''' after the last tab and enable (tick) '''Menu Bar''' or press '''Alt''' + '''V''' > '''Toolbars''' > '''Menu Bar'''.
