A couple of things you can try:
Open System Preferences and click on Network. Click on the small gear icon below the list of connections and select Set Service Order. Move your AirPort connection up to the top of the list so it will be first in line when your computer searches for connections. (It's probably looking for ethernet connections first..the normal default..and finding none, it then looks for wireless. This takes time.
Click on your AirPort connection again to highlight it and then click Advanced in the lower right of the pane. Make sure your wireless network is at the top of the list. Delete other networks that you don't need.
Finally, make sure there is a check mark in the box next to "Remember any network this computer has joined".
See if one of these actions will help.

This usually happens when KeyChain has two entries for the same WiFi network.
If repair did not work you can follow the manual steps:
Disconnect WiFi
Open KeyChain from Applications / Utilities and find your WiFi network entry(ies) and delete all of them.

How do I get the Airplay Icon to show on the System Preferences of my MacBook Pro? I want to be able to connect to my AppleTV.
I looked at that already. I've done everything it says: check to make sure wireless is working, make sure airplay is enabled, make sure device and apple tv are on the same network blah blah. The icon just isn't there. Unless I skipped a step. AirPlay works when I use it in the music app and in the video app, I jus can't get mirroring to work. I was looking at some other threads and mirroring doesn't seem to be working for a lot of people. Maybe I jus have to wait for an update =\

After upgrading to the latest Firefox, my icon disappeared from my start up screen and I can't find how to get it back.
Go to START then ALL PROGRAMS then find MOZILLA FIREFOX, right click on it, select SEND TO, and select DESKTOP(CREATE SHORTCUT).

Mail quits unexpectedly every time I close my macbook.
For the past week or so every time I reopen my macbook I see the little error window that states that Mail has quit unexpectedly. Does this mean there's a gremlin in my macbook?
Thanks Linc. It's completely gibberish to me of course but I've followed your directions and come up with the following. I hope there's not much there - I basically chose all the lines for a one minute time period (I had no idea my macbook worked so hard). And as for the crash report - it was only the most recent one of ten since 19/8/14. Thanks for your time - I really appreciate it.

I can't open this product, every time I try to it just asks for my adobe sign in and then when I log in the photoshop icon disappears and nothing opens. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the program but the same things happens.

HT204291 Airplay Icon lost from both my iPhone and Macbook Air
I've lost the Airplay Icon from both my iPhone and Macbook Air, so I assume there's something up with my AppleTV setup (connected via LAN ).
Airplay was working fine until recently.I've checked all settings and they seem ok. Anyone any further ideas?
All other functions work ok, streaming video off the net , playing iTunes (installed on Macbook Air) from AppleTV etc
I've just lost Airplay from 2 devices.
AppleTV was updated in the last few days, but the Icon was lost before that.

A simple reboot of my modem/router (the fibre one from BT - BT Infinity) fixed this for
both my iPhone and Macbook Air.
I can also mirror my iPhone screen to the AppleTV now too.
(mirroring only worked from my Macbook Air before)
That must be a new feature. Excellent !

The "stop load" X icon disappeared from my navigation toolbar and I don't see it in the available icons in the customize window to add it back.
Did you also look at all of your toolbars while in customize?
You could use the keyboard shortcuts and avoid the problem altogether.

Everytime i am finished using Firefox, if i want to go back onto the internet, i now have to either log off and then log back on. or i have to use the task manager and close the firefox process, it is extrlmely annoying as i have to do it everytime, if i try and open firefor before i do either of what i have explained it just comes up with, firefox is allready running please close all windows to open a new one, or end the process...how do i stop this message from popping up every single time i use firefox????

Facebook/Safari logs me out every time I close my MacBook.
When I close my MacBook I am signed into Facebook with the 'remember me' box clicked. However, when I reopen my MacBook, Facebook keeps asking me to log in every time. This has only started happening in the past few weeks, not a clue why it has either.
Any help would be appreciated!
Cheers!I just notice that Facebook requires me to log back in from scratch as well twice during a short period. Guess it's them causing it, might just be a temporary thing.

HT4191 My notes disappeared from both my iPad mini and iPhone.
One note from the notes app were deleted from my ipad mini and iphone 4s. I opened up my ipad mini notes app and was looking at the note and all of a sudden it disappeared. I checked other mail accounts and looked on my iphone, but it was also gone from there. My other notes were there but the one i was looking for was gone. I used the search key for it also. Please help!

Do you have Time Machine enabled. If so, go back through your previous months until it features in your Application folder. Then restore.

The firefox icon disappears from my computer and I can't reinstall it.
When i shut down my computer, often the firefox icon will be gone when I restart. I was just reinstalling it, but now I no longer can. Please help in terms I can understand as I am very inexperienced in computers. I got a new Macintosh in January and found it difficult to buy on ebay with Explorer. Firefox solved this problem and I want it back.
If you mean the Messages app and you're running OS X 10.7, then you had installed the now-expired beta. To get it back, you would have to upgrade to 10.8.

That won't be possible. You can only view a rental on the device used to do so, unless it is done via computer (in which case you can stream using home sharing)
