Every time I hit play, Logic takes 58 seconds to start playing back

Question

I have a large template (about 250 tracks of Kontakt instances), but this shouldn't happening. I've been doing quite a bit of troubleshooting, and I'm not sure what to do at this point, and I'm on a deadline.
Anyone have any ideas?
(I don't mean to be rude, but PLEASE NO "why do you need that many tracks", or "why aren't you using bidule/VE PRO/Slave machine, etc"). Thank you.

Indeed, but many people don't attempt to do it all within the environment of a single DAW program. Being able to do this comfortably has been the holy grail for film composers/orchestrators for a long time, and it seems that with every generation of newer, faster computers and better software, everyone has said to themselves, 'hmm maybe now the time has arrived where this will be a piece of cake'. Unfortunately it's still a pretty dicey proposition for a number of reasons, not least of which what can be waiting an eternity to switch between projects to work on a different cue. But that said, I'm sure there are people who have persevered to the point of getting an orchestral mock-up template system all within Logic up to a workable standard. Most people I know in film still use an external gigasampler, or these days, a dedicated computer for Kontakt or some other sampler which is constantly and permanently loaded up with the full orchestral lineup they work with. Then, additional instruments specific to each cue are just added within the Logic project in question as audio instruments. Obviously it's less attractive to work this way, you need a mixer or at least an interface with a lot of i/o to print all of your orchestra tracks later, and other niceties like offline bouncing are ruled out. But in terms of not messing around and just being able to get the work done, it's still proven to be the most reliable way of working up till now.
I think Logic 64 bit is obviously changing things in this regard.. but I also think Logic could use a couple of feature overhauls which would really change the game for orchestral mockup work.. I've already discussed what I mean by this in another post so I won't repeat myself ad nauseum here. In any case, hats off to the brave ones out there who are confident enough to do all of their mock ups within the box without missing deadlines.
