Every time I open a new FireFox window or tab Bing opens instead of my home page.
How do I stop Bing from opening everytime I start FireFox, open a new window or tab in FireFox? When FireFox starts I have my options set to open with my homepage.

Every time I open a new Firefox window a dowload dialog box opens
Every time I open a new Firefox window, a download dialog box opens with the last youtube .flv file that I converted to an mp3 from www.flv2mp3.com and the box offers the options to open it or save it. I have to click cancel it every time (or try opening it or saving it) to make it to go away. If I open a new tab or new window while I still have the original window open, it doesn't do it. Is this a glitch in Download Helper or did I get a never ending script from flv.com, or what?

I didn't have this problem before with Firefox. My kids must have pressed something or clicked on something that's the open new tab button does not function anymore. No matter how you click it, it doesn't open a new tab. Even if you click on file, then go to new tab, it still doesn't open a new tab. You have to open a new firefox window in order to do multiple browsing.
Hope you can help resolve this problem.
Sincerely,
Ems GuillarteUninstall the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened. Checking your list of add-ons, the MyPlayCity toolbar is a version of the Ask toolbar.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:
* Check the Windows Control panel for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4
* Also check your list of extensions, you may be able to uninstall it from there - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons -

Clicking the scroll wheel does not open a new firefox window
I'm running Windows 7 x64 SP1. I use the scroll wheel to click items in the task bar to open another instance of those items. Eg I scroll-click a Firefox or Excel or Explorer or whatever item in the taskbar, and it opens another instance of that program. I use this feature to open a new instance of FireFox rather than switching to the FF window, then using control-n to open a new window.
I just upgraded to FireFox 6 from FF4.x. Since doing so, scroll-clicking the FF item in the taskbar does not open a new FF window. It does, well, nothing.
I installed FF6 on a clean Win7 x86 (RTM) build in a VM. When I use the scroll-click feature in the taskbar, it works as expected: it opens a new FF window.
Things I have tried: A different mouse; updating video drivers (I doubted this would make a difference, but it needed to be done anyway, so I thought I'd mention it); running FF in safe mode (ie with all plugins etc disabled).
I'm doing a little experimentation right now with respect to x86/x64, RTM/SP1, clean FF6/upgrade from 4.x and other differences that might highlight why it works as expected in my VM but not on my physical machine.
I'm curious to know if anyone else has experienced this problem since upgrading to FF6.
MaxRespectfully, that answer isn't particularly helpful. I have already demonstrated that middle-clicking (mouse wheel click) will open a new instance of FF, and other programs. This was true before the upgrade from FF4 to FF6, and is true on all my VM builds (Windows 7 default install with nothing but FF installed).
Nevertheless, I've tried shift-left-click, and it does not open a new instance. It will only open a new instance if I pin FF to the taskbar, which I have already stated I do not want to do. This new behaviour is unique to FF. Other applications (Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, whatever) all behave as expected. It is only Firefox that is misbehaving, and it is only misbehaving since the upgrade.
My issue is that FF has changed its behaviour with respect to middle-clicking since upgrading from 4 to 6. I'd welcome helpful comments about getting FF to behave.

I want to know is there a way to open, say 3, Firefox windows and duplicate the actions done on one to happen across all open Firefox windows. I want to use the repeat feature, left click followed by ENTER the whole time on a current thing I'm working on. The tabs won't work because I have to flip through them the whole time. I'm currently doing this on two computers at the same time but need an easier way. If I duplicate tabs, it only opens the original source of the page I duplicate and not the current page I'm viewing so its a time taking process to click on the links where I need to be then start doing the control+tab. Speed is a major issue so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I am still trying to figure out what it is you are trying to do.
You have X number of pages open, and you want what you do to one page
to also be repeated on the other pages? Most browsers think that multiple
pages are individual, and separate.
What is it you are working on? No secured information, please. -
Firefox 4 opens a new firefox window for every tab I open
Everytime i open Firefox 4, all my old saved tabs are opened in their own new window in addition to being put on my tab bar. Each new instance of the windows has all access to all the other tabs from the original window as well
It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
* Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
* http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
* http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js
If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note).

'''bold text'''Browser:- Firefox 4.0.1
OS:- Windows XP SP3.
It happens every time I open a new window.
This very annoying, especially when i can have up to ten window active at a time. I group my windows by subject matter, and may have several tabs open in each window.The ASK.com Toolbar can cause other windows to get maximized.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

* https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes -
The issue occurs like this:
1. Open a new window
2. Enter a URL and go to a page (any page).
3. Click the + and open a new tab.
4. The first tab is no longer visible in the tabs bar.
5. I keep opening lots of other tabs and the first tab stays invisible (all the others stay visible / accessible).
6. The only way I've found to return to the first tab is to close all my other tabs.
This doesn't always happen (i.e. I can have two firefox windows open and only one of them does it!)
I'm not sure if it's a feature or something? But it's very annoying!
Any ideas welcomed.
ThanksHi - yes I can! I hadn't noticed that little arrow before, thanks.
However I would really like to stop it hiding the first tab all the time.... Even when I navigate to the first tab using that "list all tabs" arrow, it still remains 'hidden' (i.e. I can't see a tab up the top, even when that tab is active. And when I navigate away from it to another tab, it is invisible again).
Any ideas?

Ever since Firefox 3, command n does not open up a new window. I'm on a Mac, OS 10.6
Hello cor-el,
Yes, I do use a 2 monitor set up. And Yes!!! moving the Firefox window to the main or 1st monitor allows use of command n shortcut to open a new window. You're a genius. Thank you soo much!
Naturally, the reason I use a 2 monitor set up is to have Firefox open on the 2nd monitor for quick reference and easy access. Is there a workaround that will allow me to keep this configuration? (I know, I'm getting greedy now!)
Many Thanks,

How to get links from other applications to open a new Firefox window
I have non-Web browser applications that want to open browser windows. I have Firefox as my default Web browser. When these other applications pass a URL to Windows, Windows passes the URL to Firefox. Unless there are no Firefox windows running, Firefox then opens the URL in a new tab of the most recently used Firefox window. I would prefer that Firefox open a completely new window. Where can I find the setting for this behavior?
Thank you,
DanStart Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Opening a new application window in tab navigator
Hi All,
I am trying to open new application window in a new tab?
Is it possible to dynamically add children to a tabnavigator in Flex 3?
If Yes, can you provide an example?
Thanks!Hi Swati,
Your question is not clear to me.
If you want to add childs to TabNavigator here is the code:
var tabNavObject:TabNavigator = new TabNavigator();
var vBoxObject:VBox = new VBox();
vBoxObject.label = "Child 1";
tabNavObject.addChild(vBoxObject);
If you want to open new tab in browser here is the code:
var connection_request:URLRequest;
connection_request = new URLRequest("http://www.google.com"); // URL, or you can give your application path here.
connection_request.data = new URLVariables("param1=" + "Prashant"); // to pass any parameter to URL
connection_request.method = URLRequestMethod.POST; // setting method type
navigateToURL(connection_request); // this is standard function.
Thanks. -
I am running Mac Computers in a School. Current Mountain Lions OS and current Firefox Browser. We log in using mobile accounts. How can we manage Firefox so all users get the same home page and settings.
If I can do locally or through a profile, that would be greathello, you could use the mozilla.cfg file in the firefox program folder in order to lock or set certain preferences - here is some general information on how to set that up: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locking_preferences
and specific guide to set the homepage can be found here: http://mike.kaply.com/2012/08/29/setting-the-default-firefox-homepage-with-autoconfig/ (this blog also contains may other helpful resources for deploying firefox)
