• Since the last update, every time I open "Numbers" I get a notice that a font is missing.  How can I stop seeing this warning?

Since the last update for "numbers", everytime I open numbers I get a notice that a font is missing.  I don't care that it's missing and I would like to not see that message.  How can I get rid of it?

A document you had open at the time you quit Numbers has a font that you do not have (probably Calibri).  You can change the font to one you have OR close the file before you quit Numbers.  Numbers will open files you had open when you quit.
Looks like:
The other thing you can do is check the box "Close windows when quitting an application" in "System Preferences > General"

Hello,
Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See this article for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:
#Go to this Adobe Flash Player Help page.
#Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
#Click on Settings in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
# Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel. <br/> <br/> <br/>
# Remove the check mark from Enable hardware acceleration.
# Click Close to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
# Restart Firefox.
This Flash Player Help - Display Settings page has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.
Does this solve the problem? Let us know.

• The past few days every time I open firefox I get the windows' "do you want this program to make changes to your computer..."

Hello
I would be so grateful to know how to fix t his, because it's really getting on my nerves.
I have windows 7 pro 64 bit. I mostly always use firefox. Whenever i opened a new browser, I never got hit with the windows badge and "Do you want this program to make changes to your computer...." or something to that effect. YOu who have windows 7 know what I mean. Of course I click yes, but I NEVER had to do this before. I don't know what changed, what might have happened. I had to have help with some software unrelated to firefox and someone had remote work on my notebook, but he should not have changed browser settings. It is really irritating me to now end to always open the browser now and have to hear that annoying thing and the badge.
My other browsers IE and chrome do not do this.
How can I fix this? It was never the case before for years.
thanks I am grateful in advance. I can't use this browser if this s going to happen it gets on my nerves.

You're welcome.

I had the same problem and I fixed it as following (See if it's the same case for you) :
1. Goto Tools > Options.
2. Under Advanced, select the Network Tab.
3. Click on Settings in the "Connection" box (open connection settings).
4. Check if "Automatic Proxy Configuration URL" is selected. If it is so, select "No proxy" instead or manually enter your proxy if you are using one.
The option "Automatic Proxy Configuration URL" was the culprit for me and some others as well and selecting "No proxy" instead cured our problems. It is a bug and has already been reported on Bugzilla as you can see here :

• How can I change the fact that every time I open firefox, I get redirected to a website promising a free ibook?

OK. So in October I made the mistake of opening a website offering a free iBook (I'm really not gullible; I thought I could figure out who was sending it too me). Ever since then, I cannot open a new Firefox session without being redirected to the site (If I open up more than one webpage and save them before closing, I don't get redirected to the ibook site).
I actually keep my web-surfing software on thumb drives, and I tried two different thumb drives doesn't matter. I purchased and ran an anti-virus program. No dice. Can you help me?
I have a MacBook, which runs on system OSX 10.5.8

Hi revbennyd,
So it sounds like your home page has been hijacked? You should take a look at the Knowledge Base article How to set the home page.
There are steps in that article to reset your homepage preferences to default. I would try that first to clear out any strangeness. If that works, you can try setting your homepage again to your personal preference.
If that doesn't work you should look at the article Preferences are not saved.
Finally, your issue may be because you've been hit with some Malware.
Hopefully this helps!

• Every time I open firefox, I get redirected to PPC Web Spy. I want this off of my computer!

When I open the browser, I get a message window stating there is a new version of PPC Web Spy available. Even if I click on the cancel button, I still get redirected to their site. I have to exit their site to get to my homepage. I don't want any of Brad Callens products, but there is no opt out or unsubscribe button to get me out of this. I'll have to discontinue this browser and go back to Safari if you cannot resolve this.

Check that you do not run Firefox as Administrator.
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".
Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.
* Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
* "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" should not be selected
Also check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).

• Every time I open Firefox a window comes up that says "checking compatability of addons". That takes a few seconds and then "Welcome to Firefox" window opens which I have to close to get to my homepage. Help!

no additional info

See:
It is also possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache, extensions.rdf) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.<br />
New files will be created when required.
See "Corrupt extension files":
* http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_install_themes_or_extensions
If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left side of the Search Bar (or click the "Find Updates" button in older Firefox versions) to do a compatibility check or see if there is an update.

• Every time I open Firefox I get a new page with an ad for Walmart I can't seem to stop it from happening. It doesn't do this with any of my other browsers, however I prefer Firefox.. can you suggest how I can stop this from happening.

I have to close this "other page" before I can use Firefox
It's annoying and is preventing me from using Firefox as my regular browser which I would prefer to do.
Also any scans I've made with virus or hidden ads has come up negative.
I'm at a loss to fix this.
Can you help?

Install, update, and run these programs in this order. They are listed in order of efficacy.<br />(Not all programs detect the same Malware, so you may need to run them all to solve your problem.) <br />These programs are all free for personal use, but some have limited functionality in the "free mode" - but those are features you really don't need to find and remove the problem that you have.<br />

• Every time I download Firefox I get a message that it is damaged

I have tried to download Firefox several times today. When I try to install it I get this message:
"Firefox" is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash.

Note the ftp downloads site also exposes the md5 checksum for each download version. You will be able to use that information to give an indication of the file downloading without corruption, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Md5sum
(Sorry I do not use a Mac so can not say exactly how you run that check on a Mac)

• Everytime I open firefox I get a window that opens. Doesn't happen with IE or Chrome

Every time I open Firefox I get another window that opens over the homepage. It is almost blank with a few lines at the top of the page and the words user registration. It has been happening ever since Firefox updated on my computer yesterday, even after uninstalling and reinstalling.

Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)
* You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.
Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshooting extensions and themes article for that.
To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.

• Every time i open safari i get this pop up for myvdrive and i don't know what to do about it

every time i open safari i get another window that opens for my vdrive and i dont know if i have a virus or not and i dont know what to do about it

Since there aren't any "viruses" for Mac, you can't and don't have one.
You've most likely got a plug-in for myvdrive that's causing the popups.
Safari>Pereferences>Extensions
Look for MyVdrive and uninstall it.
