Every time I open Photoshop on my iMac?

Photoshop opens every file I have worked on and I have to clue each one before I can work on the present one. Why is this and can I stop it easily?

If you have a newer version of Photoshop that has the auto-save feature and its enabled.  It sounds like the auto recovery files are not being  removed when you save and close document. So every time you start Photoshop Photoshop see these auto-save files indicating Photoshop previously crashed and these file need to be recovered,  Are the file that open actually yours or does the image title show  name.PSB Photoshop native file format.

    Hi 49balf,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I recommend removing and reinstalling iTunes using these steps:
    Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
    Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
    Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
You can find the article with these steps and more information here:

  • "sniffer_gpu quit unexpectedly" error happens every time I open Photoshop CC

I get the "sniffer_gpu quit unexpectedly" error every time I open Photoshop CC on my 15" Retina MacBook Pro. I'm running Mac OS X 10.8.4, and I have no updates available for Photoshop from the Creative Cloud menu bar icon.
The odd thing is this: Photoshop CC still works flawlessly. The error I get when I launch Photoshop CC is more of an annoyance, but also makes me wonder what *isn't* working flawlessly somewhere in the background that I'm not aware of – or at least not aware of it yet.
    Here is a screenshot:
Any ideas on how to fix this?

    Sounds good, I'll try that.
But the weird thing is, I have the latest CUDA driver, and I'm running a compatible graphics card.
Premiere CC and After Effects CC both work flawlessly and with no error popups (I installed the CUDA driver primarily for Premiere and After Effects anyway.) It's really strange.
I don't really need any kind of boost from the GPU for Photoshop CC, so I'll try setting it to basic or something. I'll report back momentarily...

  • Every time I open photoshop cc the actions I have loaded previously have disapeared and I have to re load them, any ideas ?

Hi I have recently formatted my pc and reinstalled Adobe CC. I have two sets of actions I regularly use and also a little action to flatten images when finished working on them.
Every time I close Photoshop and re open it they have disappeared, all the windows I have set up are all back to the original. The work space if fine as are my Nik filters.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    David

1.— Did you actually save your actions as a set?
2.— Did you actually save a workspace with your Actions panel showing?

  • How do I stop the "drag firefox into the applications folder" dialog box from opening every time I open Firefox on my iMac?

When I installed Firefox on my iMac, a dialog box appeared telling me to drag the Firefox logo into the Applications folder, which I did. Firefox works fine, but every time I open it this dialog box opens before Firefox does, and I have to close it out. This is irritating. How can I stop it from opening again?

Make sure that Firefox gets installed properly.

  • How do I disable auto-recovery files from opening every time I open Photoshop?

Hi! I have read several forums about how to disable the auto-recovery feature. However, I don't want to disable the auto-recovery because I like that it saves my work in case of crash. It's just annoying that everytime I open photoshop all those previous files auto open. Is there anyway to make it stop? I read that there is a file that you delete, but will that stop the auto-recovery feature? Thanks in advance for your help!
Oh! It's Photoshop CS 6 and the os is Mountain Lion. Thanks!

On Windows, if Photoshop crashes, the autorecovery files are not cleared. On next launch, Photoshop sees those autorecovery files and reopens them.
When Photoshop closes successfully, it deletes these autorecovery files, and thus on the next launch no recovery files should be opened.
So if your files are continually opening, then Photoshop is in essence crashing every time you close it (assuming you are trying to close Photoshop each time).
May need to look at doing things like recreating the preference files or running Photoshop in a new user.

  • Adobe Updater quits every time I open Photoshop CS 3

When I open up Photoshop, it opens up OK. Then I get a message that the "Adobe Updater has quit unexpectedly." I click "ignore" and I try opening it up again by going to Help - Updates. The same box come up.
What can I do to fix this problem?
I am running Leopard and Photoshop CS 3 Extended Edition.
    Thanks in advance

    You're probably already fully up-to-date.
I suggest turning off any preferences that want to check and apply updates automatically. If you're out and about online with any kind of regularity, you should become aware when any new updates come out. Just download and apply them manually.
Let the Windows users keep that auto-update stuff turned on for their thrice weekly anti-virus/anti-spyware/anti-skunk-in-the-pants workflow killing needs
    XD.

  • How come every time I open certain apps, my imac gives me an internal error message then it crashes?

I dont understand it and I'm hoping that someone out there might be able to, Thank you ....eddyy

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
Still in the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports for crash reports related to the process. The report name starts with the name of the crashed process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

I am trying to use the trial creative cloud software on a PC windows 8.1 - I've downloaded and removed Photoshop CC 2014 two times - every time I open the file it says there is a problem and it shuts down and closes. I can open indesign and maybe other apps but photoshop no. Any ideas?

I don't think I can access the crash report? Excuse the ignorant questions I'm about to make am a relative tech novice.
Soo - as mentioned every time I open photoshop it crashes - it just says there's an error and the program will shut down and if there's a solution windows will notify me. Then nothing...
I've tried to look in photoshop files for the detailed crash report & the system event viewer but cannot find a file with those names. I've also looked in the windows files for files with those names but cannot find them either - so I don't know where to look.
    Any guidance would be great.

  • How to remove a small black window that appears on the upper right corner of my iMac and covers everything behind it every time I open iPhoto?

Every time I open iPhoto on my iMac a small black window appears in the upper right of my desk top and covers everything behind it, including iPhoto. The window says "Blocked Plug-In". I cannot move it, delete it, force quit it, etc. I have quit iPhoto, but the black window remains. I have restarted and shut down the computer, but when I open iPhoto the black window comes back. I have right and left clicked on the black window, but I cannot get rid of it. How do I stop the black window from appearing on my screen?

    No problem

  • Formatting changes every time I open the file?

I've been working on reformatting a slides from a previous presentation. I get one show all set, check everything and save. But when I open it again headlines are missing, text is too big for the boxes and sometimes a random image from another part of the presentation is on the master background.
Any ideas on why this is happening?

  • Every time I open PS (starting today) it acts like I am using a free trial I bought in May

I purchased Production Premium CS6 in May and haven't had any issues until today.  Every time I open Photoshop the message comes up asking if I would like to pruchase the software or continue my free trial.  I tried putting in the serial number I recieved when I purchased the software but it tells me it is invalid.  I am running Mac OS X 10.7.5.  I have not made any changes except last week I moved all of my CS5.5 software (that I had upgraded from) and the CS5.5 and CS6 disk images to an external hard drive.  Anyone else experience this kind of problem before?

Quick update to this:  I just gave it one more shot entering the serial number, and (I guess) it accepted it.  When I clicked "next" the message disappeared.  I guess we'll see what happens.

  • Every time I open one of my CS6 Products I have to re-enter my serial number.  Help Please.
