Every time i plug in my phone, iTunes creates a new library
I rebuild all the music and app etc, and sync, then the next time i plug it in the libray is empty. iTunes "forgets" where it put all my stuff.

Why is iPhoto automatically opening every time I plug in my phone?
Every time I plug my iPhone into my Macbook it automatically opens up iPhoto whether or not I have new photos to import, which I usually don't. It's really annoying. My husband has the same phone and his doesn't do this. Is there some way to stop it?
he iPhone includes a single Camera Roll where all photos captured by the iPhone are stored. If you save a photo from a received message or from a website, the photo is stored in the Camera Roll.
If there are photos in your iPhone's Camera Roll - even if some of the photos were previously imported by iPhoto but not deleted from the Camera Roll after the import process is complete, iPhoto will launch automatically when your iPhone is connected if you have iPhoto set to do this when any digital camera is connected.
Depending on which iPhoto version you have, iPhoto includes a preference setting for this. If you have an earlier iPhoto version that doesn't include this preference setting, the same is available via Image Capture preferences with the Image Capture application. Connecting camera opens - select No Application. -
I have quite alot of music etc so to save hard drive space I have created my iTunes library on an external hard drive. If I ever accidentaly open iTunes when that external hard drive isn't attached iTunes makes a whole new library from scratch on my computers hard drive. I find this highly frustrating as I often open Itunes to find no music as it have changed librarys and I have to re-load my actual library: very frustraiting and time consuming.
I would like to know if it is possible to lock iTunes some how to stop it from changing folders when it can'f find the library, or atleast give me a warning that it can't find the library before creating a whole new one????Tunes works through a database file which has a list of your tracks. When you click on a track it looks up in the database which file it needs to play, then plays the file. If something breaks this link then you get ! The two main ways to get ! are to move a file from where iTunes expects it to be, or to delete it altogether. I don't know which has happened in your case. You can try using Spotlight to find a file for the one referred to in a broken link. If the files have been moved then they need to be moved back. If they were deleted completely you will have to restore them from a backup or download them again from the iTunes Store and rebuild your library.

It happened once before, but it fixed itself. I read about it online and people say they brought their iPods to Apple and they said its Windows causing the error. Its not one of their error messages.
1st : Install SP1,SP2 and ALL Microsoft Online Updates. There were known issues in Vista with Apple ipods usb syncing feature in Vista, but in the lifetime of Vista it was fixed several times, so update the OS.
2nd : If you have a x64 version of Vista you MUST use itunes also in 64bit, because it installs drivers into the OS. 32bit drivers wont work properly in 64bit OS, even if the application itself will start.

Toda vez que sincronizo meu iPhone com o iTunes, ele exclui a biblioteca do iPhone e copia tudo de novo, sendo que eu estou sincronizando no mesmo mac desde sempre.
Have you ever had all 7 of them synced before? Are these ringtones you made yourself? Is there a chance they could exceed 30 seconds in length? Is there a chance you have moved the original file location on the computer? May need the answers to a couple more questions to try and determine an answer.

Can anyone help us figure out why every time we plug 2 of our 3 ipod touch devices it tells us to reset it to factory settings. We have reset them a few times but it still tells us to do it every time we plug them in to itunes to sync them.
- Inspect the dock connector for bend or missing contacts, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Try a different USB port
- Try a another cable
- Try another computer. If this works this points to your computer. If no then it points to iPod problem -

This is probably a setting in your operating system.
I don't have the Windows 10 Preview version but try either searching for Autoplay or go to
Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Autoplay
The phone is probably being treated as a camera and so set the default action accordingly.

It is opening up your computer generally because there are photos in the camera roll to prompt you to import them to the computer as you would a digital camera.

I recently got both an iphone 5 and a macbook air. im trying to take the songs off my old phone (iphone 4s) and get them onto my mac's itunes and then be able to sync them to my new 5. every time i plug in the 4s into the mac, it says that the USB is drawing too much power and has to be shut off. what should i do to recover my songs?
Are you using a usb hub or anything like that? If so, try without. Otherwise unplug everything from your mac and reboot with your iphone 4s plugged in and nothing else.

Every time I plug my phone through my computer it sync's it. I takes a long time for my phone to sync with my computer. I was wondering why this was happening all the time and why does it take so long to sync?
Because that is the way Apple made it.
Whenever your phone is connected and iTunes is open it syncs.
If for whatever reason you do not want iTunes to open and synch with the iPhone, go into iTunes and turn that feature off.

Have managed to cure it based upon the following information received -
I keep having this problem with iTunes when I try to connect my iPod Touch to iTunes. I keep getting this error message: "This iPod cannot be used because the required software is not installed".
What I did:
Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64-bit version of iTunes.
I have already done this required step about a hundred times and I am still getting this same error so if you have any idea of what I can do please help.
Solution
I was running the 64-bit version if iTunes, and I did uninstall and re-install just to make sure -- no luck. Turns out there's a really easy solution, I'll spare you the detail of how I figured it out, but if you encounter the same issue, here's the solution:
1) Using WinRAR (or any other decent archiving program), extract iTunesWindows64Setup.exe
2) Right click on AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi and choose Properties.
3) Switch to the Compatibility tab and check the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" box, and select your only option, "Previous versions of Windows", in the drop-down box.
4) Click OK
5) Double click the AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi
6) Tell it to Repair your current installation
7) Done! -
Every time I plug in my iPhone 4 into iTunes, it always asks me if i want to "Set up as a new phone" or "restore from backup". But every time i click on restore from back up it deletes everything & that iTunes message is still there. Is something wrong with iTunes?
Apparently it does need to be restored because that is what it is requesting. You will need to restore it as New or from a recent backup if you made one.

Three days ago, my iPhone 4 started sporadically displaying this message when I plugged my authentic apple iPhone charger in: "This accessory may not be supported." I was dismissing it, until my battery was nearly dead and I finally realized that when the message would come up the charging would stop.
Somehow, last night, I got it to begin charging on my Macbook and although it stopped a few times, got it back to 95%.
Now, it happens every time I plug it in to charge and it WILL NOT charge.
Details:
I am using genuine apple chargers. The one that came with my iPhone and the one that came with my iPad.
I am using outlets that work.
I have tried charging on my Macbook and receive the same message.
I am on IOS 7.1.1
The battery seems to be draining faster than usual.
It seems like when the battery gets low enough (<5%), it will charge again, at least a little bit, without the message popping up?
I tried to make a genius bar appt. but the next one isn't until next Tuesday! Eek. I cannot afford a new phone right now, and I am really hoping there is a way to fix this. If there is anything I can do at home to isolate the problem, or reduce what could end up costing a lot I would greatly appreciate your help.hi, try all what these guys say, as they make sense (my bet is on a slug of kebab guys ).
you list bits you have tried but don't say if you have tried a new lead?
i'm not being tricky, as an electronics engineer of some 40+ years who repairs consuls, iPhones, iPads etc. i have some experience of what gets overlooked. Some of the cheap after market leads aren't the best quality,and some darn right lethal, likely to catch fire while your asleep. you might have bought of them.
i find it tends only genuine Apple leads lock in, but there might be fakes of them to. either way worth a go. perhaps se if your family or mates have one.

Elements 12 for MAC won't open new files or save to any format
