least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

My iPhone says that I don't have enough storage to update one of my apps so I went to delete stuff that I didn't need but every time I select what I want to delete my phone freezes, goes back to the home screen and doesn't delete anything.
First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

My iPod touch just stops playing songs automatically.
When doing a google search it sometimes times goes back to the home screen.
Also it sometimes takes several goes before it will accept the charger!
Would appreciate any help, thanks- The charging issue could be due to a poor connection or a problem with the iPod. Try another cable first
- Try the following, it is mainly for the not playing and other problems:
Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod
If still problem time for an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. -
The last several days I have not been able to access the dial pad. When I go to phone a pop up appears that says "unfortunatly contacts has stopped working." To remove the pop up you have to hit 'ok', the it goes back to the home screen. This also happens when I go to contacts.
You migh give resetting your NVRAM a try:

Try restarting your iPhone by holding down the on/off and the home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo.

I would like to be able to add a timer on folio pages that will go back to the home screen if iPad left inactive. Any ideas on how to make this happen in InDesign CC?
There isn't a way to do this with DPS.

Everytime I open anything on my Iphone, it exits whatever I have opened up and returns to the home screen. I have deleted most all of my apps thinking this would solve it. It hasnt solve anything and continues to do the same thing. I have also have hit the top button and home key at the same time to reset things. nothing has worked. Is there a app I can download to take care of this problem, or can I take it to my local carrier and they can fix whatever may be going on???
Try restoring your iphone.
Basics from the manual are restart, reset, restore. -
My ipad air sometimes opens a program, then immediately closes an returns to the home screen. Often will take me 2 or 3 times opening the program to get it to stay open. This does not happen with any particular program. Happens randomly.
Hi Flygrandma,
What you are describing is that the app is "crashing". You may notice that some apps do it more than others. To try and fix this, cycle the power. To do this, you want to fully turn the iPad off.
Hold the sleep wake button down.
The iPad should say something like, "slide to turn off". Do that.
After the screen is not grey, and completely black... wait 15 seconds, then turn your iPad on again.
This should resolve your issues. -

The phone button on my iPhone 3G no longer works. Everything else on the iPhone works fine. I can receive incoming calls. I can make calls directly from Contacts. But if I press the phone button I get a blank white screen for a few seconds then it goes back to the home screen. I've tried the hard reset and also restoring orignall settings via iTunes but keep getting the same problem. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thank you, Neil. Thanks for the advice but I've tried resetting network settings and also the reset by pressing home and sleep buttons until getting the Apple logo. Still have the same problem. To be clear (because I mistakenly typed black instead of blank in the title to this thread): If I press the phone button I get a BLANK WHITE screen for a few seconds then it goes back to the home screen. I doubt it's the SIM card as I can receive calls and make them directly from contacts. What I can't do is view my favourite numbers or missed calls or access my voicemail, i.e. all the things you get to via pressing the phone button.

any advice?
I suspect you have a received a hack message via iMessage. I have been receiving this type of message for the past week. Once this hack message hit my phone, I will not be able to open the Message app again or it will go back to the home screen as soon as I open the app. You can still open existing conversation by going into 'Contact' and then try send a message to a contact with an existing conversation. Any attempt to start a new conversation via Contact will close the app and return to the Home screen.
So far my only way to deal with this is to turn off iMessage and survive on SMS text until Apple comes up with a fix to block this type of hack.
Sorry I can't be much help. -
Phone 'forcing' you back to the Home Screen
I've been using my phone the past three days, and myself as well as a friend have had the same problem, and it's software related.
You will be doing something, just now I was flipping through albums in cover flow, and you get sent back to the home screen. You're not touching the home button, not even near it, and you're forced back to the home screen.
I did this, went back to the iPod, and was forced back again. No matter what I did I was instantly pushed back to the home screen until I turned off the phone and turned it back on.
This happens intermittently and seems to be something software related... it's either that or something with the 'Home' button...
Anyone else experiencing this?I think this means that the app crashed. I've had this happen multiple times in Safari and Google Maps.
To be sure, do this: try a sync of your phone with iTunes, and if iTunes asks you if it's okay to send diagnostic info to Apple, then that's what happened.
If iTunes does not ask you if it's okay to send diagnostic info to Apple, then it's a different problem.
This was also a big problem when the Intel-based Macs first came out, and it has gotten much better. Now we again have the apps compiled for a new platform, so there will be a few months of Apple getting the bugs worked out.
I would bet that stabilizing these bugs will be a very high priority for Apple, and I bet we will see a software update for the iPhone within a few weeks.
