Every time I try and update my iphone 4 to ios 7.1 in iTunes 11.1.5 it says "connection reset" even when there is no problem with my connection
I have an iPhone 4. I use iTunes 11.1.5 on my Mac. I am trying to update to ios 7.1 through iTunes, but every time I do that, I get a "connection reset" error, even when I know there has been no problem with my connection.
The exact error message is as follows:
"There was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone "Anne's iPhone". The network connection was reset.
Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later."
I have checked several times. There is no problem with the connection, and I have tried to download the software several times today.
Any help you can give me would be appreciated.
Just managed to successfully download the update, having retried five or six times. I did unplug my phone while the download was taking place (had asked iTunes to download only, not to update) -- suspect this had no bearing on it whatsoever, and that persistence is the only way here.

Ios has not been released. It is available in test version only to registered developers.
If you are a developer then you nkow better thatn to post this here. You should use your credentials to log into the developers forum.
If you are not a developer then you are illegally downloading the software. -
I've cleared my entire phone in order to make space for this update and now it won't update. What am I doing wrong? Is there anything I can do?
Did you jailbreak your iPhone ?
OTA Update would not work.
You need to Restore in iTunes. Pray it goes well. -
ITunes crashes every time i try and update genius.
I have itunes 10.1.2 and every time i try and update my genius it gets to 75% done and then I get the pin wheel and iTunes does not respond. I have heard people having this problem with older versions of iTunes but no one having it happen recently. Any help would be welcome.
A few others having this problem, and I'm sorry I've got nothing to offer. What I did get through Apple support was that because the error message is coming from Windows, it's not something "in" iTunes that's causing it. So it is some sort of incompatibility that has to be dealt with via Windows. Very disappointing, but will at least save you the grief of looking for a solution via iTunes -- there isn't one.

Every time I try and update mu devices from my itunes account I get an error unknown error 9006
every time I try and update mu devices from my itunes account I get an error unknown error 9006
Hey burtonpg,
Thanks for the question. If you are receiving a 9006 error when attempting to update or restore your devices in iTunes, this usually means that there is a conflict with security software on your system:
Resolve specific iTunes update and restore errors
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694
Configure your security software
Check your security software and settings, which can block ports and prevent connection to Apple servers during update and restore.
Common errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006, 9807, 9844. Sometimes as a result of this issue, a device might stop responding during the restore process.
Thanks,

HT201210 Error every time I try to update my iphone 4s to iOS 7
it gives me an error message saying "software update unavailable- software update is not available at this time. Try again later" What do I do?
Youre not doing anything wrong, its just the servers are probably flooded with people updating. It happens with almost every OS update so dont let it get to you. Just be patient and eventually it will work.

Well, the problem isn't the back up because I already have a backup saved that I can restore from, I honestly don't know how, but I do, and it has all my apps. The problem is restoring it. I keep getting the "There was a problem downloading the software for the iPod "King". A duplicate file name was specified. With my 3G iPod touch, I did not have it named as "King". I had it as another name. I don't know if that helps, but as I said before, Backup-wise I'm okay for now. Restore-wise I'm not.
NOTE: Reinstalling iTunes doesn't help. -
PLEASE HELP PLEASE PLEASE
Did you try the things listed here? Error 3194, Error 17, or "This device isn't eligible for the requested build" - Apple Support Is your device jailbroken? Have you ever used the computer to jailbreak a device? Are you trying to load an iOS other than the current one? What version of iPhone are you using? Is this occurring when attempting to update via iTunes and the computer?

TS4123 Every time I try and sync my iPhone my laptop shuts down.
I have tried reinstalling iTunes.
I have reset all contents and setting on the iPhone.
I tried downloading my tracks as a playlist.
I have about 1000 songs on iTunes and at the last attempt it only synced 250 before shutting down. I have tried everything I can think of!
Please help!!Thanks for the answer. The sync process goes well until the last step,(5th) when iTunes try to syncing pictures. At that point I got an error message telling me that iTunes doesen’t work properly. “Windows tries to find a solution to the problem” ...and then the program shuts down. I remember that I tried to include videos in the Photo tab just before it all happend, so I think that is the issue here.
The problem is that i dont know how to uncheck include videos option since the program stops working. Is it something i can do without having my iPhone connected? I Saw that some have installed older versions of iTunes to go around the problem and if that solves it all, at least for now... where can I download it?
Thanx in advance. M -
