Every time I try to restore my phone i get error 3149?
I've done everything suggested in the online help category for error codes, my internet connection is working very well, my usb cable connections are fine, I don't know what else to do to get rid of this error so i can restore my I.O.S on i tunes, any suggestions?
Instead of 3194, maybe it is 3149? If so, that is generally an error that is displayed if you are trying to install an iOS other than the current one, or your device is jailbroken. Do either of these refer to what you are trying to do? Your profile says iPhone 4, so the latest iOS for that device is iOS7.1, is that what you are trying to install? Are you just connecting to iTunes and doing a restore, or trying to download the iOS from another site?

Hi, to get your iPhone 4 back to normal, here're two ways for you.
1. Use Dr.Fone for iOS. The free trial version can fix iPhone screen of death. The free trial version can do that, you don't have to pay.
Just download and install this software on your computer and connect your iPhone 4 to computer with a USB cable. When it detects your iPhone 4 is abnormal, click Restart the device to get your iPhone 4 to be normal.
2. Use iTunes to fix it.
Step 1. Make sure that the latest iTunes is installed on your computer.
Step 2. Plug into a USB cable to connect your iPhone4 to computer.
Step 3. Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time for about 10s.
Step 4. 10 seconds later, release the sleep/wake button. But continue to hold the home button until a message comes out, saying "iTunes has discovered an iPhone 4 in recovery mode, you must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes".
Step 5. Click your iPhone 4 in the left sidebar to show the device control panel on the right. Then, click Summary.
Step 6. Go to Backups section and click Restore Backup.... In the drop-down list, choose a backup file and restore to your iPhone 4 -

Or the OP could try actually following Apple's documentation for troubleshooting and solving this very simple problem instead of uninstalling, reinstalling, installing old versions of software, etc...

Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart. -

I tried updating my phone, and right towards the end it said it could not update for whatever reason. So I restored it and updated it, and now it's not letting me restore it from my backup, even though it keeps asking if I want to.
Well, the problem isn't the back up because I already have a backup saved that I can restore from, I honestly don't know how, but I do, and it has all my apps. The problem is restoring it. I keep getting the "There was a problem downloading the software for the iPod "King". A duplicate file name was specified. With my 3G iPod touch, I did not have it named as "King". I had it as another name. I don't know if that helps, but as I said before, Backup-wise I'm okay for now. Restore-wise I'm not.
NOTE: Reinstalling iTunes doesn't help. -

My son can't remember his passcode for his iPod touch and for some reason every time I try to restore it, the software gets updated and it starts processing it then it says there was an error and to try again later. Later, it still does and says the same thing. Is there any other way to unlock it without the passcode?
The only way to clear off the passcode is to restore the device. You could always try the restore process on another computer that has iTunes just to get the iPod working again, then you could plug it back into your comptuer to sync all of his content back on the iPod.

every time I try to sync my phone and restore my content after I updated my iPhone, iTunes goes through the prompts and then says "cancelling sync" at step 5. I cannot restore my apps or music!
when i try to sync my music which i have on my PC's itunes it will just not transfere on the phone. everything will sync [apps, videos, contacts] but the music will just not transfere.
and when i try to download the music from the phone's itunes store it will say "Error. Tap again to retry".

You need iTunes 11.1 which is not available for download in google chrome or other browsers. The only browser it has worked for with me is Safari. Hope this helps!
