Every time I try to save on iMovie HD...
It says---
An effect is still rendering and cannot be saved in the file. Ok to stop rendering and remove these clips?---
How can I make sure the effects get saved? It's pretty much the only reason I used iMovie '06.
This error has several options to fix. Let's start with the easiest one first.
With all Office applications shut down:
In your User's Library How to view the User’s Library folder
Go to Preferences, delete com.microsoft.Word.plist
Still have issues....
In your User's Library >Application Support > Microsoft > move the Office folder to desktop.
Restart computer. Test (you can move back if needed.)
Still have issues....
Boot into Recovery Drive. Hold down Command R when restarting computer.
Run Repair Drive and Repair Permissions in Disk Utility.
Restart and test.
Still have issues....
Download combo updater to refresh your system files.

FCP quits every time I try to save! Help! Please!
Tonight, every time I try to save a current project that I have been working on for a few weeks now (up until now all was fine) FCP v5.1.1 unexpectedly quits on me. I am able to open the project and play and edit my sepquence but it will not allow me to save, it just up and quits on me, can any one out there help.
G5 Mac OS X (10.4.6)maybe something screwy with the project file, try "Save As..." and save it under a new name, will that work?
aletrnatively, with the browser window active, but nothing selected within it, choose File > Export > XML
and then double click that exported XML to open it back into FCP ... in the Import XML dialog change the Destination to (Create New Project), and leave all the other options checked. -

Please Help!! "A File I/O Error Has Occurred" every time I try to save...
I'm working on a postcard design for print purposes with several embedded images and text elements. I've saved successfully several times early on, but suddenly, every time I attempt to save, I get the message "A File I/O Error Has Occurred". I need to get this to the printer, but can't make important changes now. HELP!

paulCrazy! Wasn't saving to a server, but to a 2-gig jump drive. When I saved it to my mac's hard drive, no problem. Is there a short answer to why that happens? I didn't appear to be out of space on the external drive...

Illustrator CS 5.1 freezes every time I try to save
I just started using Illustrator CS 5.1 on a new laptop running Windows 7. (I have used it for over a year on an older computer running Windows XP with no problem). For the first month or so on Windows 7 it worked ok (saving was somewhat slow) but suddenly it freezes every time I save - sometimes it will eventually save - after 5-7 minutes - yes, I timed it...
Help!To what folders are you saving? What are your saving options? You could simply be running out of (temporary) disk space if you use the default My Documents/ My Images folder because your temp folder is in the same location. This could cause all sorts of performance issues. And then of course the usual suspects: Virus scanners and otehr tools causing excessive disk activity or trying to scan your file while it's being written.

I am receiving an error message that it is unable to save my file everytime I try to save a file using QuickOffice Pro on my iPad. It seems like I must have missed a setting or something someplace but I can't figure it out.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

InDesign 'save' window closes every time I try to save
I am running InDesign CC and am having a problem saving. Whenever I try to save any document, the save window opens, then closes as soon as I click the text box or even try to click on a folder/ place to save the document. The program does not crash, just the save window so I am not able to save the document.
I am running the most recent version of CC on Mac.
Does anybody know how to remedy this?Ensure your InDesign CC is fully up-to-date.

Illustrator CS3 shuts down every time I try to save my file

My Illustrator starting having trouble with saving files about a month ago, but then, if I would wait long enough, eventually it would save the file and I could move on. Now, my Illustrator shuts down, or just tells me there is not enough memory to save the file - and it is not a huge file. even when trying to print from Illustrator now, I have big problems.
I've already had the hard drive on my computer checked and it's in perfect shape. I don't have any other issues in any other program on this computer. Just Illustrator. I uninstalled and reinstalled CS3 today, but made no difference.
Any help or suggestions?D,
If it has anything to do with preferences, uninstalling and reinstalling will make no difference. If that is the case, you may try to Move the folder.
But before doing that, it may be worth trying to consider whether the file may be corrupt.
Does it happen to other files?
If not, you may move the contents into a new document (tick Paste Remembers Layers in the Layers panel (and untick it when done).
You may try to move everything (from all layers), and if the new document is corrupt, you may start anew and move bits and pieces. -

Basically what the title says, is there anyway to fix this without closing the illustrator file as i do not want to lose any progress on the work i've already completed.

There may be different causes.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.
