Every time I try to sync my iPod Touch, iTunes freezes?
Well, it's pretty self-explanatory. Every time I try to sync my iPod Touch (5th generation), iTunes freezes. It starts syncing for a few seconds, slows down, stops, then iTunes becomes unresponsive. If I don't force quit it, after a few minutes, iTunes is fine, but my device still hasn't synced. Any solutions/suggestions?

Question. In my computer music library, I "unchecked" all of the music that my daughter downloaded onto my computer because I did not want it on my ipod. But, every time I try to "sync" my ipod with my computer now, it keeps downloading her music onto my i-pod, even though her tunes are NOT checked. What is wrong, and how can I get her tunes OFF my ipod?
The best way to manage your music when you have multiple iPods is to change the settings under "Options" so that you manually manage your music instead of it doing an automatic synch each time you connect. To add only the songs you want, highlight them and then "click and drag" them to your iPod. This way none of your daughter's music gets added and you're not in danger of deleting your playlist as well. It will show you how many songs you've added and you can then click on your iPod to verify. To delete her songs off your iPod now, click on the music tab under your iPod so show everything you have stored. Find those songs you want to delete, click on them to highlight then go up to the Edit window and click delete. This will erase them off your iPod but be careful when you highlight. I did that and then had to reload a cd on my boyfriend's, lol. hope this helps

Im getting error 14 every time i try to restore my ipod touch, any fixs?
im getting error 14 every time i try to restore my ipod touch? anyone know how to fix this?
i have itunes 9 and this problem started when i bought the new itouch software. i have alreay tried deleting itunes then re-installing it.Well, the problem isn't the back up because I already have a backup saved that I can restore from, I honestly don't know how, but I do, and it has all my apps. The problem is restoring it. I keep getting the "There was a problem downloading the software for the iPod "King". A duplicate file name was specified. With my 3G iPod touch, I did not have it named as "King". I had it as another name. I don't know if that helps, but as I said before, Backup-wise I'm okay for now. Restore-wise I'm not.
NOTE: Reinstalling iTunes doesn't help. -

Every time I try to sync my iPod, iTunes crashes. Please help!
Every time I try to update my iPod I get a message that says:
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
It does this over and over. I have updated iTunes. I don't want to reinstall it as I will lose all of my play lists and folders.
Please advise!Re-installing iTunes wont erase your folders, unless your iTunes is a very old version pre-iTunes 9 series.
I would suggest to download the latest iTunes, it would solve your problem as in this earlier post -
when i try to sync my ipod, itunes v11 says "waiting for sync to start" then a message appears "sync failed, device timed out.

Every time I try to sync my iPod Classic 160 gb, it locks up my computer. Help?
So when I started trying to sync my Classic up, iTunes kept saying the iPod was corrupted, NOW it won't even sync, it just locks up the entire computer. Never had this problem with Windows XP, I'm using Windows 7 now, however. Anyone else having the same problem?
A couple days ago, I began having a similar problem. When I try to sync my Classic (120 gb), the iTunes says "Verifying.." , then the entire PC freezes. I am using Windows 7. I need help too.

HT1320 Every time I try to sync my ipod, itunes freezes
I've gone through the first 4 of the 5 R's. I can't do Restore because iTunes freezes any time my iPod is connected to the computer, even when it's in Disk Mode. I've reset the ipod, I've checked the status of the disk and there doesn't seem to be an issue there either. I'm stumped. And aggravated!

Can you share the report by doing the iPod Disk Diagnostic as posted earlier by tt2, it wont fix your problem, but helps in troubleshooting. -
ive tried re
A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (or if you forgot your passcode)
iTunes 10 for Mac- Update and restore software on iPod, iPhone, or iPad
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
iOS- Understanding passcodes
If you have forgotten your Restrictions code, then follow the instructions
below but DO NOT restore any previous backup. If you do then you will
simply be restoring the old Restrictions code you have forgotten. This
same warning applies if you need to restore a clean system.
If you need to restore your device or if you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to
update.
2. Connect your device to your computer.
3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
4. Select the Summary tab.
5. Select the Restore option.
6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
necessary to create another.
7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
you see "iPhone is activated."
9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup.
If you can not restore your device then you will need to go to recovery mode.
Placing your device into recovery mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end
of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the
red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake
and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake
and Home buttons.
3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device.
The device should turn on. Note: If you see the screen pictured below, let the device
charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then
start with step 2 again.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
Additional Information:
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information. -
Every time I try to restore my iPod touch 4G, I get an error message.
I plug my iPod touch into my computer, open iTunes, go to Devices, go to my iPod touch "King" and click on Restore. It asks if I want to Back Up the iPod, I choose Don't Back Up because I already have a Back Up I want to restore it to. Then the usual, "Are you sure you want to restore the iPod "King" back to its factory settings? All of your media and other data will be erased." I click restore and it gives me a warning about how I haven't transferred my purchases, and they'll be lost. I wasn't worried about that so I skipped that. Then it gave me the iOS 6 Software update description, clicked Next. Then the License Agreement, wont through that. After I pressed agree, I got an error message saying: There was a problem downloading the software for the iPod "King". A duplicate file name was specified. I did have another iPod touch used with this iTunes (3G), same music, plus more on my 4G. I'm using iTunes 10.7, the latest one, and Windows 7. The restore works on my laptop, but it doesn't have the Back Up I want.
What do you think the problem is?
And how can I fix it?Well, the problem isn't the back up because I already have a backup saved that I can restore from, I honestly don't know how, but I do, and it has all my apps.

I have been trying to update my iPod touch 4 for a while now; however, after downloading the update the computer shows an error and itunes hangs. Can anyone provide a solution?
This should work:
Run notepad as Administrator
Browse here to find the host file:
C/windows/system32/drivers/etc
Add this line at the end of the file:
74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
Save the file
Restart iTunes -
Ipod comes up with ERROR 13019
(copied from here)
Resolution
Update to the latest version of iTunes. The latest version of iTunes can be downloaded from this page. If updating to latest version of iTunes does not resolve the issue, continue: Error occurs while syncing music
The error will most commonly occur while syncing music. This issue can be resolved by following these steps:
Select the device name in iTunes under Devices.
Click the Music tab and under the Sync music option, choose Selected playlists.
Deselect the Voice Memos playlist.
Click Apply and then click Sync.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, check the device and the iTunes library for duplicate voice memos. If you find any duplicate voice memos, delete the duplicates and then sync.If those steps do not resolve the issue, then follow these steps:
Select the device name in iTunes under Devices.
Click the Music tab and deselect the Sync Music option.
Click Apply and then click Sync.
After the sync is complete, reselect the Sync Music option.
Click Apply and then click Sync.
Test in a new user account
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, attempt to sync with iTunes while logged in as a new admin user. Follow these steps to create a new administrator user:
Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7
Mac OS X
From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
Choose View > Accounts.
Click the "+" (you may need to authenticate to be able to click this).
Give the new user account a name and short name and enter a password.
Select the checkbox for "Allow user to administer this computer". This makes the user an admin user.
Click Create Account.
Log out and then log in to the new account.
If the error does not occur in the new user account, other content is causing the error. Proceed to the next section.
If the error does occur in the new user account, the issue may be caused by content downloaded or created on the device, such as podcasts and voice memos. Removing content from the device may address the issue.
Error occurs while syncing other content
If the error occurs while syncing content other than music (applications, podcasts, and so on), perform the same steps as above, but deselect the content that stops the sync. Deselect one type of content, then attempt to sync. Continue until you sync without error. Deselect Apps last, since restoring your Apps would take longer than restoring other content.
