What kind of gobbledegook is that?  Are you or Microsoft crazy.  Us computer users need simpler instructions.  Or you need to write your programs so that they work.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

My MAC won't recognise our new Ipod 5. Everytime I try to update iTunes it tells me that I need a newer version.

Uopgrade your MacBook Pro to OSX 10.6.8 or higher so you can run the newest iTunes.  Snow Leopard discs cost about $20 from Apple online (not available in retail stores).

  • Every time i try to update itunes i get error code 2330, What is it ?

    niose it

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

You should probably post this in the iTunes forum to get a better chance of answers.

i have the version of itunes the ios 7 update requires but every time i try to update my phone it says i need the itunes version 11.0.5 but i already have it?

You need iTunes 11.1 which is not available for download in google chrome or other browsers.  The only browser it has worked for with me is Safari.  Hope this helps!

  • ITunes crashes every time i try and update genius.

I have itunes 10.1.2 and every time i try and update my genius it gets to 75% done and then I get the pin wheel and iTunes does not respond. I have heard people having this problem with older versions of iTunes but no one having it happen recently. Any help would be welcome.

A few others having this problem, and I'm sorry I've got nothing to offer. What I did get through Apple support was that because the error message is coming from Windows, it's not something "in" iTunes that's causing it. So it is some sort of incompatibility that has to be dealt with via Windows. Very disappointing, but will at least save you the grief of looking for a solution via iTunes -- there isn't one.

  • Every time I try to update an app or download from iTunes a message appears 'unknown problem has occurred' please help as to why?

Every time I try to update an app or download from iTunes a message appears 'unknown error has occurred' can anyone help as to why this would happen and how to fix the problem? Thanks

Are you using a proxy or a VPN to connect to the internet? If you are, this is possibly the reason why. I suggest using anothe connection which is not a proxy.

  • Every time I try and update mu devices from my itunes account I get an error unknown error 9006

every time I try and update mu devices from my itunes account I get an error unknown error 9006

    Hey burtonpg,
Thanks for the question. If you are receiving a 9006 error when attempting to update or restore your devices in iTunes, this usually means that there is a conflict with security software on your system:
Resolve specific iTunes update and restore errors
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694
    Configure your security software
Check your security software and settings, which can block ports and prevent connection to Apple servers during update and restore.
    Common errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006, 9807, 9844. Sometimes as a result of this issue, a device might stop responding during the restore process.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.
