It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. My touchsmart 610 brings up the log in screen every time I hit the letter "l" on the keyboard.
This just started happening this morning. Very strange problem. Everytime I hit the letter "l" I have to type in my computer password before I can resume.

See if this helps you out. First run your antivirus scan. If no viruses or malware are detectected then do a microsoft recovery to an earler point of time not a full recovery. If the back date recovery works then you know it was caused by a malware. Also check your computers update web-page for troubleshooting keyboard and updates. Most likely your keyboard went bad. Check your warranty status your computer may be covered. Contact HP Direct Support for key board and mouse replacement set. In the mean time use the on screen key board or if you have an extra USB key board use that instead. Until you receive your replacement or order one your self if need be. Here are the part numbers for Keyboard and mouse set. On right side of computer's update web-page you will see order parts for computer click it. This is the part numbers you will need. I think I may have accidentally opened an email attachment which was fake. Ever since I did this my mac constantly opens pop up pages with ads every time I click the mouse. I have checked in preferences and it says pop up pages are blocked but still they keep appearing. How do I stop this?
You may have installed the "VSearch" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
Malware is constantly changing to get around the defenses against it. The instructions in this comment are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Step 1
From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Uninstall any extensions you don't know you need, including any that have the word "Spigot," "Trovi," or "Conduit" in the description. If in doubt, uninstall all extensions. Do the equivalent for the Firefox and Chrome browsers, if you use either of those.
Reset the home page and default search engine in all the browsers, if it was changed.
Step 2
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
/Library/LaunchAgents/com.vsearch.agent.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "com.vsearch.agent.plist" selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.
Repeat with each of these lines:
/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vsearch.daemon.plist
/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vsearch.helper.plist
/Library/LaunchDaemons/Jack.plist
Restart the computer and empty the Trash. Then delete the following items in the same way:

~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ConduitNPAPIPlugin.plugin
Some of these items may be absent, in which case you'll get a message that the file can't be found. Skip that item and go on to the next one.
The problem may have started when you downloaded and ran an application called "MPlayerX." That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an item with that name in the Applications folder, delete it, and if you wish, replace it with the genuine article from mplayerx.org.
This trojan is often found on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content such as movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow.
You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. The reason is that the Internet criminal behind VSearch has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. Apple could revoke the certificate, but as of this writing has not done so, even though it's aware of the problem. This failure of oversight has compromised both Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return. -

Why my iphone produces a bug after it renew for OS5.1.1. The bug is when I use message, type a Chinese word, and then using a releveant word, then the program automately closes. Every time I try the same procedure, it definitely closes.

Why is pages scrolling to the top of the page every time I type something?
Every time I type something, or hit any key for that matter, my document scrolls to the top of whichever page I'm working on and I am unable to see what I am typing. It just started doing this last night, so I feel that I must have clicked something. Any suggestions?
You're not current with the OS version and you didn't say which release of Pages you have. Version 4.0.5 is the latest. See Pages, About Pages.
I'd suggest, in this order:
Close your apps.
Download and Install the 10.6.7 Combo Update
Run Software Update and accept all the revisions for 10.6.7 and Pages
Try again with Pages.
If still having trouble, try in another, new, User Account.

Any ideas on how to control the amount of sustain pedal data that Logic Pro 9 records? Every time I press the sustain pedal down, it records 4 sustains. Same thing when I release the pedal. Thanks!
This gets confusing, you have two Macs with different issues and two pedals with different issues? First let's sort out what's what. So, do the issues come from the pedals or from the Mac software? To find out, simply switch the pedals and note their behaviour. No change: it's the software, change: it's the pedals (imho the most likely scenario).
Second, what kind of pedals are they? Can you name the type of pedal too? The Yamaha what and the Mgear which?
Third, with the 4 fold data problem, are the doubled events simultaneous, or a few ticks apart, or more?
Also, you have no MIDI keyboard? Are the pedals both "standalone"?
I think you have to sort this problem at its' source, which are the pedals. You could, if push really comes to shove, perhaps create some sort of ingeneous/elaborate transformer setup in the environment to filter the extra messages, although with the 4/4 sustain events that may not even be possible. With the "stepped" events you could set up a filter to just block all events with values 20-110 or so.
But much better would be to configure the pedal(s) correctly. -

With Windows Explorer go to View in the top menu and allow Hidden Files.
Navigate to:
C:\Users\[which ever user is you]\Appdata\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes
Delete all files in this directory.
Start iTunes and see the Welcome Screen for hopefully the last time!
I am not an expert. This was a stab in the dark based on the Mac ByHosts solution and it just happened to work for me. Give it a try and let me know if it works.

I have set up a Netgear dual band modem which works well with the iPhone and an older MacBook, but with this brand new MacBook it asks for a password every time I reopen the computer and open safari. As you can imagine this is very annoying. It says I am not connected to the internet and offers me a choice of nearby networks including mine and then asks for a password when I select it. Why does it do this with our new MacBooks (also with my son's brand new one) and not with the iPhone, iPad and older MacBook? They happily automatically connect to our network after entering the password just the once.
Sig, I appreciate you trying to be helpful. I have no idea what issues you were having or what issue exactly pgrounds has been having. Your assumption that everyone's set up is the same as yours is false however. There are many many documented WiFi issues that are a result of Lion installs. Many have been solved by 10.7.1 and 10.7.2. Others have been solved by a large variety of work arounds. Others have not had their issues solved yet.
I am one of those. I have an IT background, and I spent the better of five hours digging up workarounds and attempting all of them. For the benefit oh anyone who is having similar issues, I have posted links to all of those workarounds here. None of them worked in my case, but hopefully they will help pgrounds or others.
So, once again, if you have a new idea, I'd love to here it. But if it has already been posted in one of these links, it's not helpful, let it go.

I have windows Vista and have the updated version of Firefox. I also can run OPERA and LUNASCAPE with no problems. When running Firefox I have to constant re log-in to my Yahoo account every time I leave the page. For example: I log in to check my email on Yahoo and then leave my email page. Then when I return to recheck my email I have to log in all over again. I can't stay logged in. If I run my OPERA browser I stay logged in for days without having to sign in all over again.
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
