Every time I update LR to a new version I seem to need a patch to make it work..... once again here I am SOS! I've just update LR to the 5.7 version and It wont let me start it: The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b).

Your system is missing a couple DLLs that LR needs, but the fix at Adobe is to copy them to the LR folder which gets replaced for each install, so you have to redo it after each LR install. It would be worth documenting the process and saving the DLLs so you don’t have to ask about it each time:

You might also use the AIO210 program to add them as detailed in this YouTube video—maybe this is a more permanent fix, but since the files are from media-fire be very careful about what you do so as not to install a virus on your computer.
I’d scan the downloaded ZIP you download with whatever virus and internet security software you have and don’t be fooled by extraneous popups you might see during the download process. I was able to download the aio210.zip after authorizing one Captcha window and closed at least one bogus popup trying to get me to install other software. To migrate your phone to a new account, start by saving any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll. If you are syncing notes with iCloud that you want to keep on the phone, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself so you can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; your other devices won't be effected by this), provide the password to turn off Find My iPhone (if using iOS 7) and choose Keep on My iPhone when prompted . Then sign back in with your new Apple ID to create your new account and choose Merge to upload your data to the new account.

The HT1766 article you attached lists the prerequisites for an iCloud backup:
iCloud automatically backs up the most important data on your device using iOS 5 or later. After you have enabled Backup on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in Settings > iCloud > Backup & Storage, it will run on a daily basis as long as your device is:
Connected to the Internet over Wi-Fi
Connected to a power source
Screen locked
You can also back up manually whenever your device is connected to the Internet over Wi-Fi by choosing Back Up Now from Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.

Captivate 6 Errors: Missing file libwinpthread-1.dll and The Application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b) on Windows 2008 R2

Hi,
I have a problem with Captivate 6 installation on Windows Server 2008 R2. I have 2 different scenarios where I tested but the result is same.
1- I used AMEE (Application Manager Enterprise 3.1) to create the installation Package to deploy through SCCM 2012.
Notice that the current package works fine on Windows7 (x86 & x64) but not on 2008 R2 due to an error after I try to launch Captivate.exe application.
The error states that there's a Missing file: libwinpthread-1.dll and if I copy and made a registration of this .DLL file then it sends another error saying: The Application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b) so it never let me launch the application.
2- Now if I install the package directly from the Original sources(CD) without creating any AMEE package after completing the installation I still have the same error about the DLL missing file.
Is there any fix or workaround to install Captivate 6 on Win2008 R2 ?

Win7 /Office Updates April 2015 - userinit.exe - Application Error : The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000018)

Hi all,
After updating our acceptence Windows 7 SP1 clients (april updates). We are unable to login the machine.
Error: userinit.exe - Application Error : The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000018)
After rebooting the machine 2times I'm able to login. When I shutdown the machine at the next boot i'm getting the same error again and i'm not able to logon.
I have no idea where to start. One by one uninstalling updates isn't an option because after a reboot it seems ok.
Any idea's? Help is welcome.

Uninstalling
KB3045999 works as a workaround like Wastashi said. We too have this problem.
@Karen Hu: Startup repair didn't find anything here and this is probably because the system boots properly but only after a user logs in the "Error: userinit.exe - Application Error : The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000018)"
appears. Safe mode works however and after I disabled all the startup items and rebooted I could successfully logon once, but this could be coincidence because sometimes after a reboot you can login as pointed out by Tim NL. However a few seconds
after I successfully logged in and saw the desktop, the pc rebooted spontaneously. Any idea what this could be causing? Virus scanner maybe?

Trying to reinstall firefox on a windows 7 machine and I get "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142)"

In troubleshooting a different issue I uninstalled Firefox. After fixing the other issue I'm tying to re-install Firefox and am getting an error message that says "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application." The title bar of the window says "setup-stub.exe - Application Error." My PC is a Dell Studio 19 All-in-one running Windows 7 Home Premium.

When I look up that error on Microsoft's forums, I find suggestions ranging from an incompatible update/hotfix to malware...

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

My computer says it's been synced with another device besides my own, and it wont let me do anything in itunes until I either start up the device as a new one, or restore from another back up, and i dont know what to do!

I got the new ipad several weeks ago, and since i had the ipad 2 before it, i transfered the data from it to my computer and gave the ipad 2 (techinally new since it had nothing on it) to a family member. Now, when I go to itunes on my computer with the new ipad, it says that the computer has already been synced with another device, and my only two options are to set the ipad up as a new one or to restore from a backup (my up-to-date backup for the new ipad does not come up on itune's list of backups that went to my computer). So now because of this, there is no way i can put anything from my computer to the ipad, or even look at it through Itunes on the computer! Is there any other option for me?! I need help now!!

Click setup as a new device
Immediately unplug your phone from the computer
Give it about 30 seconds and iTunes will give a message (I don’t remember the specific, but regarding you unplugging the device and it not completing)
Plug your phone back in
Viola! no restore occurred and you can access everything again

The latest update to Firefox 3.6.14 has twice closed and disabled the program so that it will not re-start. Instead I get a message reading "The application was unable to start correctly (0x0000056). Click OK to close the application"

The error console suggests that there is a missing semicolon in the code. It's unclear whether this is in the Firefox code or the Java script code, or for that matter whether it's the source of the problem. In any event the only way both times I have been able to get Firefox to work again is to download and reinstall it again. How can I stop this cycle and get Firefox to update correctly? My computer runs Windows 7, 64-bit.

I was almost driven crazy by this problem. My Premiere CS6 displays error 0xc000007b exactly like your situation. I tried every method on the internet but none of them worked.
Including copying the msvcr100.dll to the Premiere folder. Nothing happened.
But this one sounds reasonable, comparing to some guess like video card problem or something.
Since I don't use ilivid or something like this. So I thought maybe there was some file else which my computer lacked.
But I don't know what it is.
Then I got an idea.
Here is what I did:
Copy all the AE CS6 .dll file in "Support Files" folder.
Backup all the .dll files in Premiere CS6 folder.
Paste and replace them all!
Then I found that Premiere Pro was able to start up. But unfortuately, it stopped in half.
Well. Maybe I shouldn't click "replace".
So I went back to the backup folder. Copied the origin .dll files.
Paste and replace again!
That's equal to choose "Not replace" at the first time.
Now everything came back to normal.
I want to get a sleep.

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

I install adobe acrobat 7.0 in windows 8.1 and when I try to open it I get "application was unable to start correctly (0xc00000fd) click OK to close application". This is a new computer and all other software works fine.

As Acrobat 7 is not supported by Windows 8, you might need to update the supported Adobe Acrobat version.
