I am running the latest iTunes, the latest updates to the OS and on an iMac 3.4GHz Quad core i7 with 8GB of RAM and the music stored on local HDD.
Still locks up iTunes for between 2 minutes up to 20 minutes.
Really annoying.

attempted to mail an email with a large attachment file. One of the addresses was bad. When my Outlook is running, the Mac tries to send it and shows the progress. However, when I look in my Outbox the files are not there. It does show up in the Outbox progress section but I can not delete it when it is there.
Where do these files reside?
Is there a hidden Outbox??

If you want to bulk email yourself, there are apps for it and their templates will work in most cases...

rather than my home page, when I start up firefox it opens a page to check plugins and then I have to wait for it to load all the way before i can close out and continue on.

The Mac has system version 10.6.8. I have the orange Firefox HD icon on my desk top. Am I supposed to do something with that?
What page is telling you this? If it is google.com/firefox that page is outdated and reporting wrong information.
Change your homepage to about:home or something else... -
The bookmarks, cookies, history all the time are deleted when I start Firefox and I need to import them all the time.
I have version 3.6.12This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Thanks for any help....I was having this issue also. I found this thread and disabling Exchange Notes did the trick. Obviously, this is the solution only if you were using Exchange to begin with.
If you want to continue to use Exchange notes or perhaps try this to see if it works in general, I found a fix on this site. All works well now.
1. Delete your exchange account from the Mail, Contacts & Calendars pane in System Preferences.
2. Go to Finder, click "Go" in the menu bar, click "Go to Folder" and type in "~/Library" (without the quotes) in the box. This will take you to your user Library folder.
3. Use the search box in the finder and type in "com.apple.notes" and click "Library" in the search bar that appears. This should now find several folders and files related to the Notes app. Rename or delete everything except the help files (with the lifesaver icons on them).
4. Restart your Mac. Put your exchange account back into System Preferences, you can go ahead and activate the Notes sync service.
5. Open Notes and it should be working now! -

Try a restart.
Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

Every time I open the browser the Welcome to Firefox tab is the first tab, then a second tab opens and thats my google, then a 3rd tab opens for me to reinstall my toolbar. This has been happening for a good year. Updates have not fixed it. Others have this problem. I did a search for an answer, the question is out there but no answer. Now if I go into add ons and add a background Theme or an extension it all is gone when I exit the browser. When I open the browser again I get all 3 tabs and have to install my toolbar again. I DO NOT want to reinstall as I will loose all my saved data, passwords, bookmarks, everything! I have had this computer for a year, Windows Vista x64 bit. Its not the computer, it's the browser. I am updating iphoto 9.1 to 9.3 and every time when I clicked for update aps store asked to open it in the account where you purchased. I am using the same account and its available in the purchased item of this account. But in my purchased item library it indicates that you update iPhoto. I am not sure which account the aps store asking. Can someone resolve this problem.

If you have a 2G iPod, you will not be able to update past 4.2.1. Only 3G and 4G iPod Touch models can upgrade to 4.3.

I desperately would like to update Firefox to version 10 from version 9 but each time I try, I am stuck with FF10 checking addons for compatability and the Welcome page opening every time I start the browser. I continue to have to revert to version 9 to resolve this issue.Sorry to be a while getting back! Tried all of that with no sucess so this AM, bit the bullet and deleted the FF folder from programs and downloaded and installed FF 10.01. Still was plagued with the same problem. Went into the appdata folder and there were two sessionstore.js files. Deleted them both, restarted the browser and no compatibility check for add-ons was done at start up and the extra tab for Welcome to FF was no longer opening Everything seems to be working as it should and I did not loose any of my settings.. Thank you for trying to help and I hope my solution helps anyone else who might experience this in the future. Here's hoping the next update goes smoother!
