Everyday I load firefox in morning & at the top next to the firefox icon it is written in english. But after a little while it all turns to asian (chinese/japanese) characters. I have to restart my computer to get the english back. What is going on?
Has firefox been hacked? It is freakin me out & I am going to switch browsers if this cant be corrected.
This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Safari and firefox stop working after a few minutes of browsing, regardless of what site I'm on. I have to restart my computer to get internet access again but it only works for a few more minutes, then I have to restart again. I don't get a spinning ball, it just stops working at whatever page it's on. I can close the program just fine but when I re-open it, either safari or firefox, it freezes trying to load the hompage. This started a few days ago after trying to stream a movie on my computer. I'm on a Mac Air OS X Version 10.6.8 and have downloaded all updates. I'm not trying to belittle your issues; you're certainly having them and I know first hand how annoying an intermittent AirPort issue can be. (In fact, mine was due to an AirPort driver bug that no one else seemed to suffer from.)
The single best diagnostic you could do is take your system running 10.5.7 to an Apple Store, and try using their in-store network.
If your machine performs flawlessly, it may be a router issue.
If your machine has connectivity issues there, it may be a hardware problem with your machine.
There have been numerous people in multiple threads over the years who swore that an update was buggy because things used to work, but returned later to sheepishly admit that they took their machine in, a problem was found and fixed, and now their Mac works flawlessly with the newer software.
But simply reinstalling 10.5.5 in no way means the explanation of how firmware bugs may be at play here is incorrect.
In the context of that explanation, all you've done is possibly reinstall software that asks to add "2 + 3." -
I constantly have to restart my computer to get my iTunes to open. Does anyone know of a solution?
Here are the two ways that I run apps as admin in Win 7. Would recommend trying the first method to see if it works before you use the second method.
First: I use this one if I only need to do it occasionally (you may find this way tedious after a few days). Right click on iTunes and the context menu will pop up. Click on "Run as administrator" then another popup will open asking you to confirm if you want to allow iTunes to have admin privilleges (this happens every time any app requests higher privelliges), choose yes and if our issues are the same iTunes should load.
Second: The semi-permenant method, again I'd say try the other method first to see if this will work for you. Right click on iTunes like before but choose Properites, then go to the Compatibility tab. At the bottom you have the ability to give iTunes admin privilleges every time it loads. Check that box, then click apply then OK. You will still see the box I mentioned earlier (I can't get a screen shot of it) asking if its ok to run with higher rights, but this way is a couple of clicks less.

So i tried downloading ios8 and my phone is stuck in recovery mode. i have tried to restore it in itunes and it continues to say itunes does not recognize my phone. i have all my systems up to date and i have tried restarting my computer. help

Every time I close Firefox and try to restart it my computer leaves a message that I still have Firefox running and that it is unresponsive and needs to be closed. The problem is that there isn't a still-running Firefox to be found, consequently it is impossible to close and therefore impossible to open. Basically whenever I watch a video and I exit out of the video I have to restart my computer to get Firefox back open. If I exit out or go to a new page while the video is playing, the audio continues like nothing has happened. I've checked my task manager and it shows that Firefox is closed. When I try to re-open Firefox I get an error message that tells me Firefox is running but is unresponsive and I have to restart my computer. How do I get it to stop doing this?
Try holding control, alt and delete down in succession and then a dialogue box will appear with windows task manager. Once open click on the Processes Tab and look for firefox.exe. Highlight this and then click end process. It should come up with a warning but just click Yes. This should then close firefox and allow you to reopen it from your desktop without shutting down your computer. Hope this helps.

Every time I restart the computer and try to install firefox the same message keeps appearing. I attempted to uninstall the earlier version of firefox using "programs and features" in windows but the same message came up and thus I was unable to uninstall using that method. I have used a third party uninstall program which appeared to delete all traces of firefox including registry entries but I still have the same problem.

Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks without erasing drive
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu.

I am running OSX 10.6.8 and when I try to install the latest security update there is an unknown error and the update cannot be implemented. I still have to restart my computer each time I try. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
I tried using the downloaded update. It still didn't work but at least I did not have to restart my computer. The message was a little different too: "The installation failed. The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Basically I was playing my game and running Skype, talking to friends and the display flickered and then a grey box with a power button and a message that said "You have to restart your computer." It booted up fine, then I looked at the details and it said something about a panic report and the one program it mentioned was Skype. I haven't downloaded anything off of Skype. I'm scared because I just got this computer as a gift and I don't know what to do and I don't want to make it worse. It's been about 15 minutes and it seems to be running fine. I haven't started up Skype again.

Most are the result of conflicting hardware drivers or faulty memory, but in your case it seems Skype may have been the culprit. Make sure you are using its latest version.
