Everything changed to other when plugged in
I recently plugged in my ipod when a window came up saying "you ipod cannot be synced" and turned everything into other so i cant play videos or music. it can now sync but everything is still other how to i change it back. I erased all my audio and video on my comp so its all on my ipod so i cant just replace them. Please help!!!
You can try Resetting your iPod while it is connected to the computer (hold down the menu and center buttons for 6 seconds). If that doesn't work you could also try 3rd party software such as YamiPod or iPodCopy and see if it can find your media files under Other.
If none of these work then you'll have to Restore your iPod and reload all your music and videos to your computer and resync. This is one of the many reasons it is a good idea to keepy all your media files on your computer and back them up.

You are referring to a feature called Clamshell Mode, please read Clamshell Mode setup for instructions.

Why is it that my ipod is quieter than others when plugged into an auxilary jack?
When I plug my ipod into a car auxiliary jack it is really quiet, and I know it isn't just the jack because my friend's ipod is much louder. Is there any way I can fix this?

Well, in what country did you buy it? This would only apply if you bought it in an EU country.
You may have Sound Check enabled (Settings/Music/Sound Check). While the intent is to even out volume differences between tracks, the net effect seems to be a lowering of volume output for all tracks. -
I have a Iphone 4 gsm (8f190) and it will not connect to itunes and when i put it in recovery itunes will not work. It won't show up when plugged into the computer. Only charges when plugged in the wall or a car charger. I've tried everything imaginable but I can't get the phone to register in iTunes at all.. The phone won't even reset.. when i try and reset EVERYTHING on the phone the apple logo with the progress bar starts to come up but the progress never moves.. PLEASE help me.. I'm at my wits end with this phone and I'm ready to just trash it.

When I send or receive e-mail (Thunderbird).....the mail gets changed significantly from its original form.....typestyle, font size, symbols, page layout, color.....everything changes.....is there a way to fix that so my the original form of the mail is not changed?.....

When you use the Lion restore as described, it does a fresh install on the hard drive that you can select at the beginning of the process. This provides a complete install of the very latest version of Lion, including the recovery partition. The drive that you choose for the installation destination winds up like what you would have on a brand new computer from Apple.

Security question keep saying they are wrong and I know they are right. I can't change them cuz when I try it tells me to answer the questions. I have tried everything changing my account and all and still can't get it can some one please help me out.
Go here and select "Reset your password." You will receive an email message with a link that bypasses the questions. You will then be able to select and answer the questions again.

FCP & other programs not opening when plug in Firewire

First, please forgive the double posting - but I just didn't think that I had made myself very clear lastnight, and I wanted to rectify that.
The problem is, that whenever I plug my camera/deck into my G5 with my firewire, no program will open, including Final Cut. I tried Repairing Permissions, and shutting down and unplugging everything, then powering back up again. Then, I turn on the camera and try opening any program, even Disk Utility, and it will not open (giving me the spinning beach ball) until I turn the camera off. This is making things very difficult, especially since I have projects in Final Cut, that I need to Print to Video, view on my tv monitor, or do anything at all.
I might add that this has indeed worked before, and after some 'futzing' w/it, it would work, but I had been 'futzing' for over 2 hrs., and have lost way too much time. In addition, in order to Log and Capture, I've been 'daisy chaining', using my Dazzle, as well as the camera w/the tv, but, it does not work the other way around, when trying to export -- thanks very much!In response to: "Has the dazzle and the camera ever been connected to the computer at the same time?" and, "Have they both been turned on while both connected at the same time"?
No, they cannot be connected at the same time - I only have 2 firewire ports, one is for the Lacie external drive, the other is for either the Dazzle or Firewire. I unpluged the Dazzle to make way for the Firewire lastnight, because I wanted to Print to Video, and could not, because no program would open up, w/the Firewire plugged in.
I will try resetting the PMU, thanks. Not sure how the camera could be the suspect, as it used to work just fine, and it's less than 2 yrs. old, but will take into consideration.

I am in Muse 2014.3. When I edit a page, in the preview everything looks fine, but when I upload it to FTP, the page does not change, even when I upload the whole site. Is this a bug? I don't know what to do.

Are you sure about your FTP credentials (FTP folder and site URL) that you are using for the upload? Are you able to see the updated files in the remote directory of the FTP server, after you finish uploading the muse file, using an external FTP client like FileZilla?

Ipod shuts down when plugged in to one port does nothing on any other
Ok here we go. I have a Ipod 5th gen 80gb. My computer is home built but the usb ports well with every other device. I'm using windows vista with SP1 installed and a dual boot of linux. Everything was great with my ipod untill just recently when there was a short in my usb cable. I went out and bought a new cable, now the ipod says "No battery power remains please plug in cable" when I plug it in to the front USB ports on my computer. It will do nothing when plugged in to any other port. It will do this no matter if I'm in disk mode, diagnostic mode or regular mode on my ipod. but this is only on the front USB ports on my desktop I've tried them on my HP dv6000 laptop, and every other port on my desktop but on any of those ports the ipod does nothing no charge signal, no response on the computer nothing at all. I'm at a loss for words with this, scoured the internet looking for info to no avail.
Do you have a wall power plug for your ipod? It sounds like it has run dead enough to where the usb ports arent giving the amount of power it needs to charge.

My problem is my Macbookpro mid 2010 with OSX 10.7.5 seems to turn off or logs off before timemachine is finished with the backup even though I have changed settings for energy management to "never" shutdown when plugged in to an outlet?
I had this problem on an IMac and I finally found a solution in an unlikely place. The problem was a security setting. I don't remember right this moment the exact setting and I am not on that machine right now but when I am I will try to retrace my steps to the fix. In the meantime check your security settings and any browser or browser extensions for computer log off settings. These settings are intended to prevent unauthorized use and incidentally screw up your backups. Hope this helps.

I am relatively new to apple (have an iPad) and having been a PC user for years I was pleasantly surprised with the apple experience and am now trying to work out the best set up for me, my husband and young son as I am buying them both of them apple products this Christmas. New Mac laptop/ ipad for hubby and then an ipod touch for my son oh and a new mac laptop for me. We are also thinking of moving from Blackberries to iPhones. Yes we seem to be hooked! but i am unsure about the home family set up and how to replace my PC network that I run off an 8TB server.
In reading the forums I keep seeing people talk about problems they have with two apple IDs and trying to merge them. I have also heard about a family ID allowing us to share apps legally. I am really nervous of setting us up wrong and then having problems later and hence i am now looking for some advice on how to share as much as we can legally but also make usage practical and not invading each others privacy. thoughts so far:
Music - I think we are happy to share the same music and access using one ID (we currently don't buy much music from apple but have lots of CDs we share).
Photos - It would be nice to share photos - as long as my son or husband cannot accidentally delete photos of mine (which is my biggest concern). I currently load all camera photos onto my 8TB storage box as the network owner and my husband has full access to copy any photo to his laptop but can never delete the original copies by accident.
Apps - If possible i would like us to share these but they are cheap enough these days to separate if really needed. Would be good to share licence for pages etc though
cloud, contacts, facetime, email - this is what is making me consider separate IDs or learning how to have multiple users in one apple ID - I do not want to have to share synced contacts with my husband. I have near 300 contacts now through work etc and he will not want them plus i will not want his or him being able to delete mine by mistake. and then for email and facetime, well I want to give him his privacy so I do not receive his messages etc. especially now that we are considering switching to iPhones
Then last but not least, i don't know the best solution for my son. he is only 7 years old so even though I don't want to pay for things again I don't want him being able to download "just any" app from the purchased icon in Appstore. Also, is there a child friendly setting to prevent him from viewing inappropriate content on the internet?
