Everything displays in Negative

I just had a PowerPoint presentation crash my computer and, in trying to get out of it, I held down a few keys and hit a few keys at the same time (trying to emulate ctlaltdel - yes, I'm a new mac owner used to pc methods). Now everything is displayed in negative - even my desktop wallpaper and screensaver are in negative. I tried to undo this by going bananas on my keyboard again but don't know what I did in the first place. I've looked in System Preferences but find nothing.
Does anyone know how to get my screen to display correctly again? I'm also going to have to post a thread as to why PowerPoint keeps crashing me.
Thanks!

  • Problem to display a negative number in XML Publisher output in excel

    Hi All,
I am facing problem in displaying a negative number in XML Publisher output in excel.
My requirement is that I have to display a negative number in brackets when the output is taken in excel format. Eg: If the value is -123 then i have to display it as (123).
I have put these brackets using a formula column in the RDF, but it is the default functionality of excel that whenever there is a number in brackets then it automatically displays that as a negative value.
Can anyone please help me how I can display this negative number within brackets and not as a negative digit. Is there any special tag or is there any formula which can be used to convert this into text and written in the Help text of RTF template.
This is very urgent. If someone knows please reply asap.

  • Video is displaying in negative

I have an intel iMac 17" bought in February. My kids logged on this morning to find that the video is displaying in negative, like a film negative. I first thought that maybe they downloaded some kind of skin or little app that let you change the look of the interface, but after I booted up WinXP in Parallels I found that XP was also affected.
I then tested to see if the OS itself was defining the color-reversal by taking a screenshot, then printing it on a color printer. The color print came out normally. This suggests that the video card is the problem. If so, how do I fix it? I did check Software Update to see if there are any upgrades I need to install. The only thing that appears is the iMac EFI Firmware Update. I am going to run this now, and if this cures the problem somehow, I will post that the problem has been resolved. If not, then the problem still exists, and I would appreciate any help or suggestions to fix the problem. (This is the wife's Mac, and she ain't happy. Know what I mean?)

    Here is more research.
After installing the EFI Firmware Update, the computer rebooted, and came back to the login screen. It was there that I realized that the login screen and background displayed just fine. I logged in to the main user, and I saw the screen initially flash with the correct colors, then immediately turn negative.
After seeing this, I created a new user with full Admin privileges, and logged into it. The display was normal in the new user. So this appears to be some kind of preference problem, possibly a corrupt preference. But which one? Anybody know what I need to delete or change to fix this issue?

  • How can I stop photos from displaying as negatives?

I am unable to change the resolution of photos in my iPod touch.
    All photos display as negatives.
How do I access settings to change the way photos are displayed?

"Settings" refers to the Settings App which is on the Home App screen. Start the Settings App by touching it
General is a category of Settings which you then select. The same goes for Accessibility and then White on black which are subcategories.

  • Can I display only negative values in an X-Y graph

I have my graph set up to run reading two arrays. It is a sine on sine wave and I only want to display the negative results. Is there a way to do this? Is it possible with something like a scan from function? In the end I will be linking this up to an absolute value and having only the negatives be positive, but getting the graph to display only the negative values is the first step.

You can use the Threshhold 1D Array to filter out all values greater than 0.

Hit control-option-command-8 to reverse the negative effect. You can also do this, and check other settings, in System Preferences>Universal Access.

  • Display is showing everything as a negative image

I have a Power Mac G5 Tower that I bought in 2005. This weekend the display started acting strange. It is now displaying the typical apple blue background screen as a brown/orange color. When i bring up a standard .jpg it looks like an old fashioned picture negative. When i bring up any website that has a photo, it also displays the image as a negative. This is also effecting all my folders and even the backgrounds of menus. (If it was a white background with black letters, it is now a black background with orange letters). Has anyone seen anything like this? I tried plugging in another monitor, but the same display issues are there, leaving me to think it is not the monitor, but the computer that is the issue. HELP?

    Hi
It sounds as if you've accidentally hit the keyboard shortcut which negates the image for the visually impaired:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107329
It can be toggled back by pressing Control(Ctrl)-Option(alt)-Command(Apple key)-8

  • MacBookPro 3.1 display is negative mode, Apple Studio Display is positive

When I have the laptop hooked up to the Apple Studio Display 17", all of a sudden, the 'polarity' switched on the display. That is to say it displayed the opposite color mode from the laptop.
I can switch back and forth from positive(regular) to negative using the universal access preference control panel. How do I get the monitor and the laptop to agree?

Hi, the problem is a combination of Boot Camp 2.1 and the ADC->DVI box. I've described a solution here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=7211956&#7211956
    Basically:
    [1] Plug everything in normally
[2] Boot into Mac OS X
[3] Set brightness to what you want (eg. in System Prefs, or via keyboard)
[4] Unplug the USB cable belonging to the ADC->DVI adaptor (this means anything plugged into the monitor now won't work, so you may need to also move peripherals from the monitor to the mac, or to a USB hub)
[5] Boot into Windows (XP SP2 or SP3 in my case)
[6] cue "I can see clearly now the rain has gone"
    The disadvantages to this are:
[1] You're a USB socket down on the deal (the display gave you 2 but took up 1, now you only have the 1 that it was being plugged into)
[2] To readjust brightness (if you find yourself doing this regularly... I don't) you need to go Mac OS X-> plug cable back in -> adjust brightness -> remove cable -> reboot into XP.
For me (2007 Mac Pro, 23" stripey Apple Cinema Display with ADC->DVI adaptor) it was happening under an ATI 1900XT and also under an Nvidia 8800GT, each time I'd tried reformatting the Windows partition, reinstalling Windows XP etc. Whenever it was Boot Camp 2.0.x it was fine, but adding Boot Camp 2.1 to the party wrecked the brightness. XP SP3 made no difference whatsoever.
Of note, if you'd rather not sacrifice the USB port (it didn't bother me, as 2.1 also made my 802.11n network finally usable under XP, which was more important to me than losing a USB socket), the original poster in the above linked article suggested reinstalling the Boot Camp 2.0 drivers (from the Leopard disc) as an alternative fix (seemingly they'll overwrite anything Boot Camp 2.1 installed, thus "rewinding"). As I say, for me I needed the wireless network so didn't want to go back, but it might work for you as a 2nd route.
I've filed a bug on this, so let's hope the Boot Camp team knock out a fix soon,
    Ken
