Everything is back to normal

System intel:
AMD Athlon X2 4400
2GB RAM
MoBo ASUS A8N5X (using onboard audio)
OS- Windows XP SP2
Audio Codec - Realtek AC97 build A3.93
iTunes for Windows Build 7.0.1.8
note I store all my music in a self created folder and not the one iTunes creats. This may or may not be important considering the trouble some had with file errors on upgrade.
When I upgraded from 6 to 7 I went online to try and find the patch notes for the new release as I like to know what is changing with each new DL. Admittedly I had had no problems with previous builds (other than the annoying erasure of all my ratings and play history)and as such I had already begun to DL and install build 7 as a I read over the new(? dont remeber it before) forums. I have to admit I was very nervous about this install but things appeared to go well. No file curroptions, my rating remained, play history remained, everything looked fine...except I was not able to start any other application that used sound without iTunes stuttering unless I went in and manually changed the Quicktime settings from 16bit to 24bit. Oddly the 24bit lost much of the richness in sound from playback (the sound was very aenemic for somereason) this was at best annoying but it did work so meh.
Then I encountered another issue: When I ran Teamspeak or Ventrillo I would ofc change the setting to 24bit andeverything seemed fines until I lowered the volume from within the iTunes program. Anything other than 100% volume resulted in unbearable distortion. So it seemed it was a no go.
On a larf I installed the lastest sound drivers tonight and still had the same problems so off I went to see if others had this problem. I noticed a new iTunes version was up, read a few bad reviews but noticed ot wasnt a flood and decided to try it.
VIOLA
I'm back to 100% usability. Not a single issue here and with the additions added to build 7 I have to say I am an extremely happy iTunes user
Forums have a tendancy to only show negative aspects (its the whole if it aint broke why fix it attitude) so I just thought Id share a more positive experiance.
Cheers

Can someone please help? Recently just had my iPhone 4S reconnected. I've now waited the 24 hours that you need to wait till everything goes back to normal. However on a phone call I can hear whoever I'm calling but they can't hear me?

i had the same problem a few weeks ago and i had only had my 3g iphone for a few weeks. It was as if i was on permanent mute. I could hear others fine, but they couldn't hear me, even if i used speakerphone or even a bluetooth.
i took it to an apple store and they did a real quick test (they first did a system restore, then they took my phone and tried calling another employee). Once they validated it wasn't working, they replaced my phone quickly with no questions asked. Just make sure to back up everything on I-Tunes before you go in so that you dont lose any info. might want to do the restore before you go in, as well, otherwise you'll have to wait for them to do it at the store, which takes them 15 mins or so.
    Hope this helps.

  • My messages won't send, then all my messages disappear, I can't make or receive calls, then after a while everything's back to normal? Someone please help

My phone takes forever to send a message, it then after reopening the messages app, will delete all of my texts and iMessages. The app will usually freeze and come up empty with 'create new message'. At the same time it won't let me receive calls, sometimes it will let me make a call but the phone app itself is also then frozen. After 15-45 mins everything will go back to normal and my messages all appear again. I then receive anything that I was sent to me during that time and all my messages then send. I've gone and got an early upgrade from a 4s to a 5s in the hope this would stop and it still hasn't. I heard somewhere that it could be to do with iCloud and it being bugged, would be great if anyone could help

Go through these 4Rs troubleshoots if you haven't done already:
    Restart:
    1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
    2. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Note: You will not lose any data

  • I was in Country Genre and after trying to update album names and artist iTunes changed A LOT of the albums and artist names in that genre to the same one! How Do I make everything go back to normal?

Take My Nashille Album, Which had the right Album name and right artitsts is now "American Ride" By Tobey Keith!!! And there are many more like that!

Backup with this User Tip, restore the library to the new computer using the same tool, keep the backup up-to-date in future. Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer need to access protected content on it.
As to your issues with compilations albums select all the tracks, set the Album Artist to Various Artists and on the options tab set Part of a compilation to Yes. See Grouping tracks into albums for details.

  • Linux Mint Installation - Can't partition the disk back to normal

I'm going to go ahead and say that curiosity definitely killed me this time. I wanted to install my favorite distro of linux (Mint 6.0). I used boot camp to do so and in doing so I created some swap space and a /home and / partition. After doing so I booted up and it worked absolutely fine. However, I only have a 100GB hardrive with my macbook pro and I decided I wanted to get rid of it. So I went into disk utility and tried to "-" the linux made partitions.
I have tried this over 10 times and each time I try to delete any of the partitions disk utility hangs up on "Preparing to delete the volume" and it never does. I left it working for almost an hour and nothing happened.
I just want to delete the partitions and restore the full 100GB to OSX. What did I do wrong and how do I fix it?
Edit: Also, I tried to run off boot camp again with the linux disk in there to try to clear out the partitions with the advanced partition manager and that didn't help at all. Now whenever I start my laptop a gray folder appears in center with a white question mark over it and after about 1 minute the apple log appears and osx starts up fine.

Using BootCamp Assistant the way you did is a one-way street. It can only remove a single Windows partition.
What you simply need to do is download CCC and clone your Leopard OS, erase the HD completely and clone back. Presto chango - everything is back to normal.
Be sure to test the clone by booting into it before erasing your internal drive.
Use the file-file clone, not the block clone which will clone your entire HD which you don't want to do.

i googled for answer to resolve the zoom problem.  all the anwers just told you to read links but didn't tell how to fix the screem back to normal then it can be able to go to Setting to fix the zoom funciton.  HOWEVER, I accidentally found the solution myself by using a fingers or more
to draw circles clockwise on the screen....it will reset it normally.  I spent hours trying to go diagonally, compressively still didn't work.

  • My ipod is brand-new and I mistakenly pressed the "restore" option! How can I put everything back to normal now?

My ipod is brand-new and I mistakenly pressed the "restore" option! How can I put everything back to normal now?
And after that, could you explain to me how can I put songs in it?

Re-sync your apps and content from iTunes on your computer or redownload it from the iTunes Store, then restore from your backup:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
That should put back most if not all of your settings and data. As to putting songs on, either purchase them from the iTunes Store or, again, sync them from iTunes:

You might find it worthwhile to read the User's Guide:

  • Everything on the screen is huge.  Therefor I can not get calls or call out etc. How do I get it back to normal size so it will work?

My screen now has everything on it huge.  Therefore I can not use the phone to answer calls, make calls, etc How do I get it back to normal size?

    Hi pizzamanvin,
Sounds like you have Zoom on. Double tap three fingers on the screen to put it back to normal size. You can turn off Zoom altogether by going to Settings>General>Accessibility, and turn off Zoom.

  • I forgot my restrictions passcode for my ipad. under settings i went to "erase all content and settings" but it needs the passcode. how do i restart my ipad so it can go back to normal? i dont care about losing everything on it

i forgot my restrictions passcode for my ipad. under settings i went to "erase all content and settings" but it needs the passcode. how do i restart my ipad so it can go back to normal? i dont care about losing everything on it

Try and force the iPad Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

  • Everything on my screen just shrunk to where its unreadable. how do i restore it back to normal size?

i was on facebook scrolling down when my screen started getting small fast. i dont know what happened or how to restore it back to normal.

Thanks for the advice but my passwords were correct. It has been resolved, I think it was an ITunes problem. I ran a diagnostics check and it found a couple of problems. i then took advice from someone else on this forum and held down the home button at the same time as the switch off button and it restarted the Ipad. after than it took my password and has worked ever since. bit of a miracle I think. Thanks for your advice.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Since this issue is only happening in one of your apps, please force quit the app, and reopen it.

Do you mean restore a backup with the old layout??  Define "won't let me."  Exactly, what did you do and what happened?
