Everything is Ok.Loadesd in (Usb Hob 1.1) light Orange-Green

Windows recognizes my Ipod, transfers the music but want to play my Ipod Shuffle but no music at all.
What's going on ?
William

I give up and return M500 (I had two drives).
I bought Intel SSD 530 180GB, cloned Windows 8.1 on desktop.
Set SSD windows partition as C: and HDD windows partition as E:.
Put SSD and HDD back to notebook.
Windows boot up from SSD in seconds.
Result: SSD Crucial M500 + HP 250 G3 (J0Y29EA) + Windows 8.1 are not compatible.
I don't know which one to blame, but this combination is problematic.
Intel SSD 530 had some issues too, like windows freezing.
One can be solved with windows update fix it (diag) from http://support.microsoft.com/fixit.
Another one is waking up from sleep mode. It can be  partially solved in Power managment, but it's not elegant.
So that's all for now.
Have a nice year.

  • Plug in Seagate USB drive and status goes from green to yellow

This is somewhat different from what others have posted.
When I plug in or turn on my Seagate 160 gig drive on the base station USB, the status light switches to yellow and no more wireless. The disk works when direct connected to the iMac. Epson printer works fine in the base station USB.
    Anybody have these symptoms?
    Rick

It is formatted FAT32 and works fine on my PC (I recently jumped ship to Mac) and connected to the iMac.
I don't understand your final comment. Once the disk goes 'ready', the wireless is down and I can no longer access the base station. If I turn the Seagate off, the light goes green again in about 5 seconds.
To anticipate: no, I have not yet attempted to 'talk' to the base via hard wired ethernet. That is, I have not seen any error text.

My 13.3" macbook pro will not power up.The battery indicator light does not come on.The Mag safe charging light flickers green and red dimly.I had a cell phone connected to the USB port.

This didn't work for me, so I did a bit of searching and TONS of pages later in google, I found an answer. Here are the steps for people who also were in my situation:
    1. Take off bottom case
    2. Unplug battery - blurry image here: http://i.ytimg.com/vi/03cC79r5Dx4/0.jpg
    3. Press and hold power button for 5 seconds
    4. Plug a charger in, and it should start booting up
    5. After shutting down again, reconnect the battery and close the case up
    6. It works! (hopefully, if you guys had the same situation I did)

Since our preemie woke me at 04:00 this morning and I had nothing better to do--I let the ATV3 connected to our "main viewer" 'update'.
Got a screen showing what at first bleery-eyed glance looks like a HDMI-to-iPod/iPhone/Ipad cable wanting iTunes.
    Fast blinking white indicator light.
    Pretty much BRICKED.
I shall attempt the USB-mircoUSB after another cup of coffee.
Really GLAD I did not update the two ATV2s.
UPSIDE: discovered that one can make the same content play on ALL ATVs simultaneously from iTunes on the main machine...

Windows works perfectly appart from the usb hubs.

    Hello,
Are these the built in hubs, or external ones?
If external, are they bus powered or do they have their own AC power?

  • IMAC connected to Mbox 2 - USB LED doesn't light up - Please help!

Pretty new to all of this. I just bought a new IMAC intel core duo and Mbox 2. I connected the Mbox 2 to the USB port and the LED didn't light up.. I disconnected it and tried again...same thing. I restarted the IMAC and connected the Mbox 2 again...still nothing. I went to system preferences and clicked on the Mbox 2 and it said "You cannot open digidesign Mbox 2 preferences pane on this computer. Contact the developerof this software for a newer version"....needless to say I'm lost now. Can someone point me in the right direction???

Try to use another cable and check if the internet led will light up. Try connecting the modem to the Ethernet ports as well for isolation. If you will get the same thing, do a hard reset on the router – push and hold the reset button on the router using a pin or a paper clip for 30 seconds then power the router off for another 30 seconds. Check the lights then. You can also do a loopback test – connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the internet port and the other end to any of the Ethernet ports. Check then if both ports will light up. If the internet led will still not light up then it’s possible that the hardware is defective.

  • IPod not playing

The ipod shuffle that I received for Christmas will not play. I set it up and put some podcasts on it and thought it was charged. I was able to play it for about an hour. The next time I tried to listen to it the light was green when I turned it on, but when I pressed the play button, it was green, then flashed 3 orange,1 green then off and nothing played. I thought I charged it (from my computer port and my usb hub port) The light stayed green, indicating it was charged, but still the same sequence of lights when I try to play. I've also restored it. Is this some defective battery or am I missing something?

  • If you tried everything and still get USB Parent d...

For those that have tried everything and still receive the USB Parent fatal error.
I have tried everything on these forums and spend several hours getting it working. Finally I got it to working and with the latest version.
    Here is what I did:
    1. Run Nokia PC Suite Cleaner (No reboot)
    2. Run a search through windows drive (probably c for anything "Nokia" and deleted.
    3. Run registry cleaner (CCleaner).
    4. Took groa's advice and added registry entry:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Wdf01005]
    "SystemComponent"=dword:00000001
    5. Checked through Add/Remove programs and deleted anything Nokia related.
    6. Reboot computer.
    7. Plugged in phone to charger.
    8. Folled PC Suite installation and plugged in phone when prompted.
All drivers were installed successfully and phone is now recognized.
I hope this helps anyone that is still having this annoying problem.

Glad that worked for you. I don't know what step did it, but it did and that's what matters.
*** I forgot to mention for step 3. I ran CCleaner for both Cleaner and Registry (making a registry backup). And lol I typo'd step 8. folled = followed.
For anyone else that doesn't know how to make a registry entry, here's how:
    1. Make a new notepad file and add the following:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Wdf01005]
    "SystemComponent"=dword:00000001
    2. Save the file as X.reg (the X can be whatever).
Then you just click the file and import into your registry.

  • ALL peripherals do not work. No usb, displayport, ethernet

I've tried to find a similar thread but each one seems to be item specific and not all.  My problem seems to be all peripherals (anything that plugs in the back) do not appear to be functioning.  The unit turns on and off, that's it.
I have a 3,1 mac mini, the last revision before the unibody.  The primary use of this unit is as a headless computer serving Apple TV content to the ATV2.  The ATV2 primarily used for Netflix as well as local content from the Mac Mini.
I've had no problems at all in the past, so this is somewhat surprising for me.  Plus, having it headless it's not immediately apparent that there may be issues.  Here are the things that were tried as the problem was discovered.  I'm hoping maybe there is some fix that I may be overlooking.
    Power light is on.
    Turns on and off.
    Cooling Fan is on.
    Rebooting has no effect.
    Can't screen share anymore.
Checked to see if peripherals may have been turned off/unplugged.
The unit connects to the internet via Ethernet connected to an 8 port switch, which connects to an AEBS.
    The switch has power.
The ethernet ports (both on switch and mini) are NOT on.  This is when I figured I had a bigger problem.
I tested different ports and no change.
Tested ports with other functioning lines on the switch and they light up fine.
Connected a different ethernet cable that is known to work to the mini and there are NO lights.  As far as I can tell, the ETHERNET PORT is not functional.
At this time I tried using a boot disk.  It takes the disc and spins but nothing changes.  I had no displays that could connect via mini displayport or mini DVI to verify.
TODAY, I purchased a mini displayport to VGA connector so that it can display out to the TV -- NO DISPLAY.  Verified that the cable is functional on a macbook pro.
I don't have a apple mouse, so I tried connecting a USB trackball.  No light emitted from trackball.
I connected a apple keyboard, and no light coming from the caps loc button when pressed.
    I've tried PRAM reset.
    I've tried SMC reset.
I've tried PMU reset -- this one forces the fan to high for a long time (or until I turn it off).
This is a second mac mini used this way and had no problems up until now.  I have upgraded RAM to 4gb myself, and has been running just fine for the last 45 days or so.  Not the first mac mini I had to open up so I doubt that was the issue, but I suppose bad RAM is always a possibility.  I doubt that bad ram could make everything inoperable though.
The mini is out of warranty so if there is no fix, there's a good chance it'll need to be replaced.

    Problem resolved.
Because the hardware failure seemed to be fairly massive, I decided to go ahead and open it back up to see if there was a loose ribbon cable somewhere.
Sure enough, there was.  The back left corner connects some circuit boards from that are part of the upper assembly that houses both drives and fan.
I reattached and crossed my fingers.
I was happy to get an audible error message, LOL.
3 beeps/flashes says RAM failure, which just seems unbelievable to me.  I twice reseated and restarted and still got the error.  I feel fortunate that I kept my old RAM just in case and tried it instead, and now it WORKS!
    YAY.
Now to see if my upgrade is still under warranty.
    Thanks for hearing my rant.

  • MSI P67A-C43 (B3) USB not working but theres a twist! Help!

:lol_anim:I Have built a new rig with the MSI P67A-C43 (B3) Motherboard, 16GB DDR3 PC3-10600 1333MHz Memory (4GB x 4), Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz 6M LGA1155 Processor, 550 Watt 80 PLUS Bronze Power Supply,24x DVDRW, 3.5" Internal Card Reader with 2 USB ports,    500GB 7200RPM 3.5" SATA Hard Drive(which i plan on upgrading just didnt want to waste money on the shitty HD they had.....
So down to the nitty gritty  . My computer is running Windows 7 64 Bit, i have downloaded all of the updates and all of the Chip-set drivers, Bios, etc... i ran a system registry tool to clean up any errors in my registry and i have ALL of my drivers up to date.
I have my USB mouse and keyboard that connect fine and are recognized by my computer, sometimes they stop working and start back up within seconds but windows does display any type of error or disconnection "this may have been fixed due to the registry cleaner i used i haven't had any hiccups yet" so i have my USB mouse and USB keyboard working fine and dandy now i think. got a new headset and the windows finds the USB Headset and it works Perfectly fine. BUT and this is where my whole frustration comes out. Whenever i connect my I-Pod Touch, I-Pod Nano, My Cell phone to copy files to from my SD Card, or my External My Passport drive Windows says "USB Device was not recognized" notification and in the Device manager it shows the one device with a yellow exclamation point and says "Unknown Device" I have tried to uninstall the USB hubs and reinstalled them perfectly restarted windows, still non of the devices work. i have tried making sure that windows tries not to turn off the device to save power, when i say i have tried almost everything i mean everything that is related with USB Device not Recognized. So i do not know what to do now, i have contacted the Manufacturer and they don't know squat about it or what could be causing it. the only thing i can think of is there is some hardware maybe that is not compatible i do hear some beeps when i start up i will have to come back and update how many beeps" i saw another post that it means the motherboard is trying to tell me something maybe this could be the issue. but i have tried every single usb port and non of them Recognize the device but when i plus in my mouse and keyboard in diff ports they still work so i am a bit confused. my last step is to return the computer to the manufacturer for a replacement or repair w/e i do not want to do this cause this should be working. my friend has almost the exact same MB and equipment and his works fine so i am getting a little frustrated with the issue Someone Pls Help me out. And yes i have tried turning off the computer, unplugging it and pressing the power button, and waiting like 1 Hour etc and still nothing. Drivers are Up-to-Date and Mother board bios and chip-set drivers are Up-to-Date as well. I hope someone knows or has an answer to help me out!

Yes the Bios is Up-to-Date and they are not plugged into the Blue USB 3.0 ports(x2). oh and forgot to mention already did a clean install again of Windows 7 64bit and still nothing.  Im also wondering if the power supply is enough?? maybe?

  • [Solved]Can't get past "Starting network" during installation from USB

I'm trying to do a fresh install of Archlinux on my laptop, following the Beginners Guide. However, I never get to the shell prompt because the installation gets stuck at "Starting network [Busy]".
    These are steps I followed:
    - I downloaded the latest Arch ISO.
    - I wrote it to a usb stick ("Kingston Data Traveler") with "dd if=archlinux.iso of=/dev/sdb"
    - I put the usb stick into my laptop (HP Pavilion dm1-4139sd), and booted it. I chose "x86_64". Everything seems to go fine, the only warning I get is: "microcode: failed to load file amd-ucode/microcode_amd.bin".
    - I get the message "INIT: Entering runlevel: 3" and "Starting Syslog-NG [Done]", after that its endlessly (at least 20 minutes) stuck on "Starting network [Busy]".
I tried the following variations on the above:
    - Wrote the ISO to a different USB, samen problem.
    - Tried it with a different Arch version (from August), same problem.
    - Turned kvm on and off, same problem.
    - Pressed TAB at the "x86_64" line and added "acpi=off" to the end of it. I then get:
        :: Triggering uevents....

You can try to fix the problem manually, log out when you are finished
sh: can't access tty; job control turned off
        [rootfs /]#
I'm not sure what to do in this prompt. At least the network isn't working and none of the normal commands.
    - I reset the DHCP leases on my modem, same problem.
    - I turned off/on the hardware WLAN, same problem.
    - I tried it with or without the LAN cable plugged in, same problem.
    - I tried it with or without the battery plugged in, and with or without the power cable plugged in. Same problem.
I also performed the Arch memory test, and the bios hard disk test. They both report no errors.
I did an Arch installation a month ago on this laptop, and back then it didn't have this problem. I still have that arch installed from back then and it boots/works without problem (I have Starting NetworkingManager [Done]). I know I technically don't need to install arch again, as I still have the old one, but I wanted to clean the changes I made to some settings files and I if it turns out this is some kind of hardware problem I'd like to return it to the store.
Please help! I'm not really that familiar with Linux in general, so it might have been a very basic mistake from me as well. I have no idea what to do next, except for formatting my harddisk (which I don't think should influence the installer?), or trying to install a different Linux distro.
Edit: The solution that solved this problem for me in the end was resetting the BIOS to its defaults.

DSpider wrote:Did you check the MD5 checksum? If you downloaded it using a BitTorrent client, then you don't need to (its hash is checked during downloading).
Yes, I downloaded it using BitTorrent and the MD5 matches.
    DSpider wrote:Try a different stick?
Yes, I tried it with 2 different USB sticks. They are both from the same brand ("Kingston DataTraveler"), so I might try different brands as well, but I don't think it is the problem.
DSpider wrote:Or at least a different method from that wiki page. For example, "dd"-ing it should work just fine.
The methods for writing the ISO that I tried so far:
    The base method:
    dd if=archlinux.iso of=/dev/sdb
    (from an Arch install)
The method without overwriting your USB drive (created a FAT32 drive with an VFAT filesystem, from an arch install)
    Using Imagewriter (from Windows)
Each method gives the same result: the laptop gets stuck at "Starting network [Busy]" when booted from one of the USB sticks. My modem indicates that it "sees" the laptop, but that the laptop has no established connection. When the laptop is stuck at the "Starting network [Busy]", all the activity on the USB stick stops (the light stops flashing).
The thing I find most strange is that the OS currently installed on the laptop has no problems booting or accessing the internet (both wired and wireless) at all.
