Everything keeps freezing/crashing after Mavericks installation on MacBook Pro.
It started with Photoshop, then Safari, and now the Kinect sensor.
Mavericks is the worse thing that happened to me I have a thesis project to work on!
What can I do?
How can I remove Mavericks and go back to Mountain Lion?

First, I would run through these steps:
Your computer’s startup disk may not have enough free disk space. To make disk space available, you can move files to another disk and then delete files you no longer need on the startup disk:
Increase disk space

If that doesn't work, you may need to repair your computer’s disk in Disk Utility:
Choose Apple menu > Software Update to make sure you have the latest version of Mac OS X.
Software updates sometimes change a file’s permissions to improve security, so updating your software can solve some permissions problems.
Open Disk Utility, in the Utilities folder in Launchpad.
Select the disk you want to check.
Click First Aid.
Click Repair Disk Permissions to test and repair permissions.

I've just installed Mavericks OS X on my 2011 MacBook Pro. Although quite slow, everything seemed to go smoothly during the installation process. Once booted up in the new OS, I noticed immediately that I had no wifi connection on the device. I am unable to enable/disable the wifi, and more troubling, any attempt to make changes to Network settings seems to freeze up the System Preferences application. Once this occurs, the machine is basically useless. A series of restarts, shut downs, safe-mode boot ups, etc and eventually I was just getting a blank grey screen after startup (no login screen, mouse visible and working). At this point, I booted via the recovery partition and did a full re-install of the Mavericks OS X. Not surprisingly, it did not fix any of the problems.

Very strange problem (no surprise to you).
I suggest you reset the SMC (and PRAM, if you are able). That cannot hurt and might help.

Facebook games won't work after Maverick install on MacBook Pro

I've researched this extensively, but I haven't been able to solve my problem yet.
It started completely out of the blue with a kernel panic, where my screen seemed to malfunction and I got the kernel panic message (but I could hardly read it because of distorted graphics). I forced my laptop to shut down, but every time I rebooted and used it again it would completely freeze after a while (the amount of time varied, it has lasted from a few seconds to a couple of hours). What happens essentially is that the cursor and entire OS freezes, and I'm unable to click on anything or use the keyboard. The fans start working full speed and the only thing I can do is force the laptop to shut down.
At first I thought it was a Chrome problem because it only happened after I opened the browser. After uninstalling it, the laptop seemed to work fine for a couple of hours, but then it froze again while I was using Safari. Ever since it has been functioning normally for smaller and smaller time periods before freezing again. I've tried reinstalling Snow Leopard OS from the original disc and then downloading all software updates, but the problem continues. I've also tried doing a hardware test by pressing D as the computer starts up, but for some reason it doesn't work.
The laptop, including Chrome and Safari, works fine in safe mode.
I'm sorry I don't know what specific information to give you about my laptop/OS, but please ask anything you need to know. I'd greatly appreciate any help — I'm panicking because I fly to England tomorrow morning to start university and I really don't want to go without a laptop for 2 weeks while it's getting fixed!

Can't complete OS X Mavericks installation on MacBook Pro

I've downloaded the OS X Mavericks upgrade on my MacBook Pro, but when I install it, it keeps getting stuck at the installer where it says "Time Remaining: Completing installation... Your computer will restart automatically" but it NEVER restarts! I've tried it several times already, but it keeps getting stuck there...
Can anyone tell me what I should do? I can't even quit the installer and just not do the upgrade. I'm just STUCK THERE. Please help!!

Try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. Try the installation in the Safe Mode. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem.

Home wifi crashes after using iTunes on macbook pro

When I open iTunes on my MBP, my home wifi network crashes. None of my wifi devices can connect to the internet when this happens. The "fix" is to reboot my cable model and wifi router... and to get out of iTunes on the MBP. If I open iTunes on the MBP, then reset the crashed router, I try to play via AirPlay the music from my library over my home speakers. It will play for awhile - then it will drop -- sometimes it will "fix" itself -- sometimes I have to reset the router again to get the music to play.
I typically have better luck playing my iTunes playlist from my iPad - however this has been crashing my wifi network off and on tonight too. I enjoy listening to my Christmas music - and this is frustrating that it crashes the network so I can't work on other stuff online while listening to my music.
Any thoughts on possible solutions are welcome!

Download the full itunes 10.5.3 installer and reinstall.
Reboot in Safe Mode (hold down shift after chime), to rebuild caches, reboot again.
If problems persist check /Applications/Utilities/Console note the time of the hang and see if any errors occur at that time.

Frequent Crashes after upgrading to ML (Macbook Pro 15" 2010)

I have been experiencing numerous, frequent crashes ever since upgrading my computer (Macbook Pro, 15", 2010 model) to Mountain Lion from Snow Leopard. The crashes appear to be very random; they don't happen at startup and aren't associated with any particular application or action. For example, I once experienced a crash while opening a file in VLC. After restarting, I was able to use VLC without any problems, and instead experienced a crash when opening a bookmark in Safari (which wasn't a problem earlier). In all cases, the screen turns black for a second and then the computer forcibly restarts.
Below I have pasted the details of the error report that the computer wants to send to Apple. I've had nearly 20 of these since upgrading on Wednesday night, and I don't know if they are all the same. But hopefully someone can help me here; I don't know how to interpret this log in order to pinpoint what is causing the problem. This looks a lot like the "kernel panics" that others have reported, but I just don't know what that means or how to fix it.
Also, I ran Software Update and am currently up-to-date.

Slow startup after Mavericks update in MacBook Pro (MD102HN/A)

After the Mavericks update, my MacBook seems to lag at startup, starts really slowly. Especially when the lock screen is about to appear and the Apple logo kind of slides upwards. Does anyone else face the same problem or is it just me? The slide always lags!

Remove all items in System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items
Same for /Library/StartupItems
Then restart your Mac to test.
And check to make sure there's enough free disk space.
Click your Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info > Storage
Make sure there's at least 15% free disk space. Less can slow your Mac down.
If nothing above helped, the startup disk may need repairing ...
Launch Disk Utility located in HD > Applications > Utillities
Select the startup disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click: Verify Disk (not Verify Disk Permissions)
If DU reports errors, restart your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys. From there you should be able to access the built in utilities in OS X Recovery to repair the startup disk.
Make sure to back up all important data first before using OS X Recovery.

Outlook Mac 2011 keeps crashing after Maverick installation

Hi everyone,
just installed Maverick. Now my Outlook Mac 2011 keeps crashing. I just freezes up and eventually pops a window stating "microsoft outlook must be closed because an error occured. any unsaved work may be lost.". Anyone seen this too and found a way to fix?

I have found MS Office databases to be fragile. When I had the 2008 version, it was corrupted by an MS Office upadate. The same thing recently occurred to me in MS Office 2011 after I migrated to a new iMac. The tech support person from Microsoft had to reinstall MS Office 2011 from scratch and I had to start over with a new Main Identity.
Fortunately, there are ways to migrate all your old email to a new main identity but it is a pain.
I suggest you head over to the Microsoft forums to see what they are saying over there. It could be that your database was corrupted by the update to Mavericks but there are other things that cause that delicate database to get corrupted. I realize this does not fix your problems but you might gain some additional insights at the Microsoft web site.

Adobe Illustrator CS 5 V15.1.0 Crashing after Mavericks Installation

I have a co-worker who is on a 27inch iMac Mid - 2011 running OSX Version 10.9.1 who's using Adobe Illustrator CS5 to design various spreads for a local magazine. After installing Mavericks her Illustrator program crashes randomly, most of the time it's once a day but some days it crashes multiple times. It has crashed with one spread open and with various spreads open. Here are her computer specs.
     27inch - Mid 2011 iMac
     Version OSX 10.9.1
     20 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
     AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512MB
     Illustrators CS5
     Version 15.1.0
She continues to loose important spreads that she has spent hours on, we have looked for .tmp files but nothing comes up on our server where she has been saving her files. We've tried uninstalling, repairing disk permissions, and reinstalling Illustrator CS5, still have problems. Our IT professional hasn't been able to fix the problem either. Let me know if you have any suggestions on how to solve this problem, anything is welcomed.

Gotcha, is there any solution to this problem? I can’t imagine that Apple or Adobe hasn’t come out with a patch or solution to fix this problem given that a lot of Adobe Creative Suite programs are used my Mac based computers.

After maverick upgrade on MacBook Pro computer won't boot

How do I get it to boot
Is there a safe mode
Can I revert back to my old system
It finished installing launched started working on it then it started not seeing files and getting errors
System extensions were not installed correctly contact developer to reinstall

Can anyone help to troubleshoot why PST Bridge Pro keeps on crashing after the installation of the application and pst files were imported. Once I re-open it an error screen comes up giving the option to either "Keep References" or "Remove References".

Apple mail crashes after Mavericks update

My Apple mail crashes after Mavericks installation. There are also some other minor bugs that slow down the system but they are by and by adjusting, for example, the mouse took little time to ge tused to mavericks, but notw it is fine. Only issue is Apple mail.

My initial enthusiasm about the account de- and reactivation actually waned quickly after I realized that I couldn't have all accounts active without crashing. Now I just discovered a new solution that seems to do the trick for me:
*Delete Smart Mailboxes (e.g. "Today")
It seems Mail reindexes all the thousands of mails that you have in your folder and mail just breaks down if you have several bigger accounts.
After deleting smart mailboxes, Mail now works normal. So far...
Tip for those that haven't upgraded to Mavericks yet: delete the smart folders/mailboxes in Mail, and please report here whether you encountered issues or not.

Mavericks freezing even after clean installation. Help me, please!

I'm having some issues with my Mavericks in my MacBook Pro Late 2011 (below you'll find my system information from EtreCheck).
I've tried update my Mountain Lion to Mavericks (10.9). The installation went well, but after that the OS has freezed several times, mainly when I was using iPhoto and Firefox (or Safari) together. My iPhoto library has more than 200 GB. I needed to forcely restart the machine every time the freezing ocurred. Important: the freezing was not completely; I could do things like show the desktop (I use one hot corner for that), but couldn't open or close programs.
I've got very frustrated and thought about downgrading to ML.
But I tried to do a clean installtation of Mavericks (10.9.1). I did that, but problems continued (different, but continued).
First, I've got a strange message saying that I run out of memory application (same as this one: http://www.michaelkummer.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/2013-10-27-at-2.25-PM-2x .png). This problem didn't happen anymore (maybe because I've deleted all my Internet accounts, as suggested by someone here, because I've received some Keychain's messages asking me to change my passwords).
The freezing problem continues now, but a little differently. Sometimes, when I open my MB Pro display, the screen gets blank and didn't appear nothing in it, and I need to forcely restart it frequently.
Well, that's it. I'm seriously considering to do the downgrade, but decided to try getting help here with you, all the experts and good people.

have you tried resseting it by holding the sleep/wake button and the home button for 15 seconds? if that doesn't work try doing a DFU mode(http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1034) restore and see if that fixes it.
