I have a new I655 Satellite. Windows 7 takes 6 minutes to load (wasn't always like this). Other apps take an extended period to load as well. I have MacAfee installed. Bought the laptop through OfFice Depot thinking at least they could fix any problems, if I had any. I was wrong! I did not build any revocery disk for this unit, but I also have an l555 Satellite which I did make some type of disks. I have two questions: can still make recovery disks from the affected laptop? I am thinking there is a virus, or was, or something has happened. I notice when booting in safe mode, it hangs up on a particular driver and is probably the cause of this long delay (dont have the PC with me right now to get the name). Is it safe to create a recovery still? Then there are the other system disks. Can I uses these disk or not a good idea? Both laptops are running Windows 7. Any suggestions?
you can not use the disks from the other laptop. you can only use the ones that are made for your model number. you should be able to still burn the recovery media as long as the partitions are not damaged or removed. look for the recovery media creator program and give it a try. if not you can always order them through toshiba.

Everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) is slowing down...
Hey everyone,
So I've had my G4 iBook for about a year and a half now and everything is slowing down. And I mean, EVERYTHING! When I click an icon on the dock, it takes almost two full seconds before it starts to bounce and load up. When I'm loading a web page and then open a new application, I get the spinning color wheel for about 15-30 seconds before something responds.
Anytime I seem to give it multiple, simple tasks, it starts to freeze up and give the spinning wheel for a bit before everything starts responding again.
I have already wiped the drive and tried reinstalling Tiger. And I have no third party RAM in there. I've reset the PRAM as well.
My optical drive also makes very loud noises, and appears to be working although that seems slow, too. (Maybe it's having trouble reading discs?) For example, when I was coping some files from CD to my hard drive, copying went at a rate at about 1 MB per second, which seems much slower to me than usual. And after I wiped the drive, it took about 7 hrs. to reinstall Tiger completely off the DVD. Is that normal?
Could this be the processor or motherboard? This is my second iBook (the first was replaced by Apple after about 6 major repairs to the motherboard in two years.) I love my iBook and I don't think I'm INCREDIBLY hard on it, so I don't know why I'd be having these kind of problems... any ideas?

I have 768 MB of RAM. And weird thing, I did try booting off the hardware test disc, and it rejected it, saying it wasn't compatible... but it is the iBook Hardware Test disc, the one that came with the computer... any ideas?

I have a macbook pro 13’ (late 2011) 2.8Ghz Intel i7 memory 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3 and have upgraded my OS X Lion to Mavericks 10.9.5. Everything has slowed down and the battery lasts a bit earlier. How do I go back to the older OS X Lion? Or should I improve speed differently? Would improving memory to 8GB help?

I'm running 2 GF 8800 GTs (PCIe .) cards on a MSI Eclipse SLI board. My Audigy2 ZS PCI runned fine in this system.
I just replaced the Audigy by a PCIe X-Fi (EMU20K2 audio processor - not the xtreme audio from MSI).
Now I'm dealing with the following issue:
- System startup is slow
- in Windows, Mouse is slow, stuttering
- high CPU-Load
- very slow system response
!!! Attention !!! I had this problems allready at the st boot with the X-Fi, when the driver from creative wasn't installed (the card was recognized as "HD Audio" bei Windows 7). Installing the drivers didn't help.
If I install only one graphics card, the system runns fine and I can use the X-Fi and it's Software without problems.
If I replace the X-Fi by the PCIe Xtreme Audio from MSI, System runns fine.
If I use Win XP with the two GFX cards and the X-Fi, System runns fine.
Can you help me?

-System (Win7x64) takes ~0min to start.
-Stuttering mouse, keyboard everything >.<
Deactivating the onboard sound doesnt help.
Newest Nvidia and Creative driver too =(
The system runs fine without the X-FI and two GTX260 no errors ect...
One GTX260 runs also fine with the X-FI
But two graphic cards and the X-FI..... **bleep** =/
I use debian as my main OS and it run still fine with both graphic cards and the x-fi...
so i think its just a driver problem.
Hope it will be fixed soon =/

youtube loads slow after Shockwave Flash 11.5 r502 update, never had this problem before. the browser i am using is google chrome. everything is updated. i have a download speed monitor on, it shows the youtube videos downloads 200kb/s regardless the resolution and my internet is 1500kb/s. i thought it might be the monitor but i turn it off the videos still loads very slow. i dont know what to do.

The issue appears to be limited to older Flash 8/ActionScript 2 content. If you have access to the ActionScript source, there are a couple workarounds here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4841531#4841531#4841531. -

Boot-up slow, NetFlix streaming erratic, wifi will not automatically connect after putting computer in sleep mode, Studio One 2 glitches after running for a while. None of these problems existed until I upgraded to Mavericks.

My computer crashed and the hard drive is no longer. I have purchased a new laptop but now have no access to my old itunes library. My laptop has created a new itunes account with NOTHING in it?? My Itouch has everything loaded but it wont sync with this itunes account....HELP
- Transfer iTunes purchases:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
- Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here:

- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup
Note that the iPod backup that iTunes makes does not included synced media like apps and music. -
After 10.7.4 update, everything is slow, on my mac mini with 8 GB Ram
I don´t know, what I can do. Before the update, everything was very qiuck. I was happy with my first mac. and now everything is slow. Safari is very slow.
what can I do?Not enough free space on the startup disk can slow the entire system down including Safari.
Click your Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info then select the Storage tab.
Make sure there's at least 15% available space.
If that's not the issue, the startup disk may need repairing.

Oracle Forms loading slower with Sun JRE in Oracle E-Business Suite 11i
Hi,
After Deploying Sun JRE (Native Plug-in) for Windows Clients in Oracle E-Business Suite 11i (Note 290807.1) we find that Oracle Forms are loading slower than using Jinitiator.
Also the PDF reports are opening in a minimized fashion. Meaning the PDF reports are opening correctly in new browser window (as expected) but is minimized.
Customer is not willing to go live with Sun JRE due to these issues.
Plz advice is there is any additional configuration I need to do.

ThiruWhen the JRE was installed/configured on the workstations was the jar cache placed on a LAN drive instead of the local drive? We have experienced poor performance with both the JRE and Jinitiator when the Workstation Sysadmins configured the jar cache to be located on a LAN drive. Also is the size of the jar cache on the workstation sufficient to hold all of your required jar files. It could be downloading the jar files all the time.
Overall our performance with the JRE is comparible to the Jinitiator.
Sorry I have not experienced the problem that you are having with you pdf reports so I can't provide any comments on it. -

The site loads within 4 seconds at my end. The bandwidth (modem/connection speed) also plays a major role in determining the time it takes for a web page to load on your computer.

Formatting on several websites is incorrect. Everything loads on the left hand side one after the other. Clearing 'Everything' from the search history fixes the problem temporarily, for a very short time. I've been using Firefox for years and I've only recently been getting this problem. It's been happening on both Windows 7 and 8. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it but this problem has only arose since I upgraded to fiber power broadband, 100Mb. I have updated to windows 8.1 recently and ater u pdating I see that everything became slow motion. like mouse's arrow is slow now and opening or closing browsers or videos and everything is slow suddenly
I tried to restart it and scan it several times and the issue wasn't solved so I beleive it may be graphics issue software incomatiblity and I tried to update NVIDA but didn't work. so what drivers or softwares may cause such problems after upgrading to windows 8.1??

I understand Windows 8.1 appears to be in slow motion. It could be an issue with graphic drivers, but regardless, I'll do my best to help.
You may want to install updated graphic drivers. If you do not know how to do that, this document provides you with the instructions you need, using HP Support Assistant: Downloading or Updating Software and Drivers for HP Computers
If that doesn't help, try booting the computer in Safe Mode and see if it behaves the same.
