Everything plays in Pro Logic.

I bought a X-Fi Titanium today. I've spent the past seven hours trying to get it to play sound in anything other than Pro Logic mode.
I have a Yamaha home theater with an optical cable plugged in to the digital out port of the card. I tried everything, even spent the past fi've hours downloading 30MB worth of updates from Creative's horrendously slow servers. One? thing I tried to do was to go to the option where I can switch to either Dolby Digital Li've or DTS Connect, however, once I click any of the two it instantly switches back to Disabled with a message that roughly translates to "The audio device is unavailable at the moment. Stop the reproduction then try again." despite having nothing playing at the moment. What's the deal? Did I waste u$90? I'm running Windows 7 64-bit if that helps.
Google hasn't helped and the search function in these forums didn't help much either.

Managed to get it working after installing some unofficial drivers and spending a few hours changing some settings until it ended up working. With such terrible support I have no plans in buying any other Creative products.

Problem with bouncing on my Pro Logic 9

when i record a track on my Pro logic 9 and listen back to it, the sound plays perfectly. but when i bounce it into every format i could, it keeps coming out with a lot of static noise in the background of the track. Please does anyone know what the problem could be??

I wonder if I can use a computer to decode Dolby Pro Logic II
from the signal of PS2 game via optical out to
Digital I/O 2 Optical In to computer to decode Pro Logic II
and output to some Creative 5.1 Speaker for example, DTT2500
or even Inspire 5700 (which doesn't decode Pro Logic II but DTS )
Any clue or solution from any experience user except buying DDTS-100
or some home theater solution with Optical In and Optical Input?

When the pro logic option is selected in the audio options, you should hear sound from the centre and rear speakers when playing just stereo sounds like music. I think Pro Logic is usually a hardware thing, but perhaps it can be implemented in software too. I think Creative should replace the CMSS button with a Pro Logic II button, as they do a similar thing. Although this would probably make the soundcards more expensi've due to the extra cost of including the Pro Logic II chips.
Actually, I have just read the post "How to enable sound for my center, rear and sides speakers?", it says CMSS works well with pro logic material, so you could try that with your games. Also, the Audigy 4 is compatible with DTS Neo: 6, which is DTS's answer to Dolby Pro Logic II. Having never used Neo: 6, I don't know how it would sound with Dolby PL2 games, or whether it would work at all, but it might be worth having a go .

Using Pro Logic X to record. I have several tracks and I'm trying to record an audio track. I have the mic connect to Avalon 737 then into apollo interface. When I record all track are being recorded into that track. I can't just get the audio to record.

Thanks for responding. Everything seems to work right except for the when I plug into the 737. Ok let me see if I can be more clear. I had this set up done with two representatives of Neumann, and DBox. Here it is I hope this helps. 32 Channel snake (24 Inputs 8 outputs) Channels 1-8 from snake to my Octopre for Drums. From Octropre output quarter inch lines into the Apollo 2, quarter inch input. This is so that the Apollo 2 is taking the drum tracks. Snake Channel 9-12 into Apollo 1 channels 1-4 xlr. Snake Channel 13-16 into Apollo 2 Channels 1-4 xlr. Snake Channel 17 into the 737, output of 737 into Channel 5 of the Apollo 1 quarter inch.
Ok The Dbox. Sum output L&R into channel input 7&8 of Apollo 1. Apollo 1 output channels 1-8 into summing input channel 1-8 of Dbox. Apollo 1 main L&R going to main analog input L&R of Dbox. Spid out to DAW input of Dbox. I have both ADAT of both Apollos connected by optical wire. Also have port 2 of Apollo 1 into port 1 of Apollo 2 connected by Firewire. Let me know. Some organs don't play in new Logic Express files after JamPacks installed

After loading only the instruments from the Symphony Orchestra and World Music GarageBand Jam Packs, I lost the ability to hear most of the organs available in Logic Express and all of the organs available in GarageBand after inserting them into Logic Express tracks. These same organ sounds still play in any Logic Express file set up prior to the installation of the JamPacks and they continue to play in GarageBand. Can an uninstall/reinstall of Logic Express 7.2.3 be a fix for this or is there an easier way to return the lost instruments to Logic Express?

The loss of instrument sounds in Logic Express had nothing to do with the installation of GarageBand JamPacks. The midi channel setting in the Inspector box of the Arrange window in Logic Express needed to be set to channel 1 to get midi data from other than channel 1 to play some of the inserted CoreAudio instruments. I don't understand what's going on but now I'm able to get the instruments that would not play.

IS IT A SIMPLE CASE OF A 'SCSI TO USB LEAD' , WILL MY MAC BOOK PICK IT UP FROM THERE OR DO I NEED SOFTWARE OR DRIVERS FOR MY MAC TO BE ABLE TO SEE THEM?

Sorry for the delay in coming back. I bought a zip drive pretty cheaply then and it has only just turned up. However when I put my old ZIP disks in, it seems like the ZIP drive reads them at least but the MACBOOK comes up with the following message...
'The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer'
Does this pretty much mean a no go then? Or can I put the samples from my AKAI sampler back through the old ZIP drive, reformat some new disks in a certain way on that drive so that my MAC can read them?
All its for really is mainly to take old tracks that used these samples and getting them set up in my mac. Also there was some good bits and pieces there anyway and would like to keep using those samples for newer projects. I could of coourse resample them from the AKAI straight to the MAC but would be not as practical and would take alot longer. The 13'' macbook pros input is not digital, only its output.

How to set output 1 and 2 and master in pro logic express when mixing

what is the recommended procedure for setting the levels of output 1 and 2 fader and the master fain pro logic express when mixing? I'm used to just one master fader with my Mackie board. Is there anything in the manual?

The entries have to be made in the sun-j2ee-ri.xml file.

The reason I ask is when I open a Logic Express Project in Logic Pro, I get this message: "ES24 Brass Ens Instument cannot be found" (I just used Brass Ens as an example.) I choose to use LP9 with Snow Leopard myself (10.6.8 and 9.1.6) for most of my commercial work simply because I find that combo very stable and provides the best overall performance for my setups here... but I am also using LPX with Mavericks as part of my client support and that works fine too although with a drop in performance due to the heavier demands made on the hardware by the newer OS X and LPX graphic routines for example..

Pro Logic Express

Just brought a new i7 imac. Brought Pro Logic Express 7 online and now my computer will not allow the programme to open up?
Not too sure what to do.

That's a bit of a disappointment...
From memory I think that Logic Express 7 was not compatible with Intel Macs...
Perhaps you can return it and get Logic Express 9...

Installing Pro Logic 9 on 2 computers?

I purchased Logic Pro back in 2011,I downloaded it from the Apple Store.My question is if I buy a Mac Pro can I download it on that computer without having to buy Pro Logic again?

if you have bought logic pro in the app store, then you can go to "purchases" there and download it again. you can install logic on any other computer in your house.

Everything plays perfect (audio & video). Mute clips after exporting (sounds fine when not exported)

Alright... this is the 1st time I use Adobe Premiere CS5.5, and I´m using the trial version.
I hope the image I uploaded is clear, but if I click PLAY while I ´m using the program, everything plays absolutely perfect.
Problem is when I export. If you can see there, there are like 7 audio bars there, I don´t know if that could be a problem, but I can´t seem to put all of them into a single track.
The main audio files DO play in the exported movie, but many others do not...
Any help??? I really need to fix this.

Pro logic 8

hey guys, can I run pro logic 8 on a g3( i know it's a v. old machine but hey it's worth trying). thanks

maybe iLife 04 would work better on a stock G3, and GarageBand is only on a DVD, so the G3 would need a DVD drive also. It sounds like any of the MIDI software instruments require a G4 CPU (could upgrade the G3).
See the system requirements of the older iLife versions in these PR releases (you can probably find these older versions via mail order from the internet somewhere):

Even with my 1GHz G4 and 768 MB RAM, the number of simultaneous tracks you can use is still pretty limited, but you can mix down a few tracks to one audio track, and start a new project to add more layers that way...
It wasn't clear with the original question what operating system the G3 in question would be using, or its other specs...so it's hard to say what the best alternative would be in this case. Depends on how much you want to spend on upgrades.

Pro Logic/Studio on Macbook

I'm a newbie here so easy on me.
In short, whats the difference between Pro Logic 8 and Studio (or are they the same).
Also, would my macbook run it? Its the first gen macbook from the other year, black one with 2gb and 80gb hard drive

I don't know drumagog and what kind of a cpu-hog it might be, but just to give you an idea:
7 Audio Tracks
1 Pro 53
1 Massive (which has "massive" impact on cpu)
2 EXS24 Samplers
1 Guitar Amp Pro
1 Space Designer
and lots of EQs and compressors
does between 5 and 30%
You should be able to double your setup without running into problems
