Everything recognizes my Zen...except MediaSour
Windows Media Player recogizes my Zen Xtra just fine.
iTunes recognizes it
Real recognizes it
My windows desktop recognizes it
My Nomad Explorer recognizes it
Everything on my computer recognizes my Xtra....except Creative MediaSource, and that's the one thing I want to recognize it, because it's how I load my songs. See, the problem is iTunes doesn't load WMA files, and I have a lot of them. None of my playlists are on Real, and Media Player's synchronization doesn't work correctly - it only successfully loads half the songs, and the other half it gives "incompatible format" error messages (but there's nothing wrong with the format of the song - any of the other applications import that song just fine). So that leaves MediaSource, which can import the playlist from Media Player, as well as the songs and synch them with my Xtra. But for some reason, whenever I plug in my Zen Xtra, MediaSource acts like nothing happened, and won't recognize that I attached it, even though every other application on my computer does.
So I guess my question is threefold:
. What's wrong with MediaSource and how do I resolve this?
2. What's wrong with the synch with Windows Media Player that in 3 songs aren't imported
3. How else can I load Media Player playlists onto my Xtra if I can't resolve or 2?

Here is what you should do:
- Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2 from your product download site.
- (Depending on your product and firmware) For non-PlaysForSure Zen series: Download and install the latest Creative Zen and NOMAD Jukebox plugin 2.00.20 for Creative MediaSource from your product download site.or:For PlaysForSure Zen Xtra: Download and install the Creative Software Suite for PlaysForSure-enabled Creative NOMAD Jukebox Zen Xtra Players.

I loaded Mac OS X v10.7 Lion yesterday. Everything’s running fine, except for a simple problem. Any time I want to copy a file, JPEG, etc., I am prompted “Finder wants to make changes. Type your password to allow this.” I don’t want this!! Is there a way to unlock “Finder” or rid this process?
Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. You can demote it back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Triple-click the following line to select it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):

Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
Step 2
Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
resetpassword
That's one word, all lower case, with no spaces. Then press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.

MediaSource 5 doesn't recognize my Zen X
Hi,
I had to do a reinstall of Windows XP recently, and once it was done, I downloaded MediaSource 5 and the driver compatible with Xtras running on version 2.0 or less -- I installed both.
MediaSource 5 runs fine on its own, and the Zen Xtra is detected by Windows (and shows up in the My Computer Menu in Windows) as soon as I plug it in. But I can't get MediaSource 5 to recognize the Zen Xtra -- when I plug it in via USB, I get the "connected device" noise, but that's it.
Strangely, I get the "connected" icon on the screen of my Xtra if I open it up via the Start Menu, but then I just get a huge folder full of audio files.
How do I get MediaSource 5 to work with my player?

st off, I was having issues with mp3's transferring to my zen touch, it would say file cannot transfer, invalid format or something of the like.. The creative audio converter would not allow the file to be converted as it said the source was not availble, all odd as the files worked fine on my computer and were mp3 format. I did get them to transfer after downloading another 3rd party converter, I wanted to get past using another program though so I updated to media source 5, along with firmware updates to most recent for the zen touch.
Once I had updated it would not recognize my player, I opened version 3.xxx whatever and it did recognize. Thinking maybe it has an issue with both being installed I unistalled the old version. Same problem, still does not see my player. I upated the driver for the player as well, and my computer now could see the zen touch instead of unknown usb device, media source 5 no go still at this point. I opened windows media 0 and it saw the player and I could transfer files, but the lay out and editing cababilities are limited.
Basically I want to know what to do get this thing detected so I can use media source 5 to organize my files. Someone please help me.N Oh how I love the beauty of forums! Fantastic. So you know the fix went for my issue here, I had already upgraded the zen/jukebox driver to version 2.0 to no avail, and did not get the play for sure firmware as it says all data will be lost, but I did upgrade with the other option on the support downloads section before as well to no avail. Thanks to?GuyGraham, after I installed the app update for Creative ZEN and NOMAD Jukebox Plugin 5.00.22 for Creative MediaSource 5 Player/Organizer it works once again!! I just do not see how this file isn't included with the media source 5 application in the first place. Either or thanks a lot you guys, problem sovled!

I had photoshop installed fine. We had to replace our hard drive, but had a full backup and everything else is working except for elements. This is the message I get -Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory, Please reinstall the application. I have reinstalled, but am getting the same message.
A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

I just purchased an iPad air, everything is working properly except my bookmarks. They transferred but my only option is to add. In other words I can see my old bookmarks but when I press on one the only option I get is add. Can somebody help me.

I recently purchased a 8gb Creative Zen and was surpised to find the enlosed CD didn't contain Mediasource. I downloaded Mediasource 5 from the creative website but then after installing it, it'skept saying it didn't recognize my Zen or Zen wasn't connected or something like that. Is there something else I need to do or alternati'vely is there another product similar to Mediasource I can use to organize my music. I want something similar to itunes which I used to use for my ipod. Thanks.

Hi. I recently discovered my iMac not shutting down and stalls. Everything seems to disappear except my wallpaper. If I Then go to setting on my Dock the apple sign at the top appears for me to shutdown the second time. I asked one technician’s what might be the problem. He said that maybe it is Flash Player that runs in the background and avoid the computer to shutdown. I uninstalled Flash Player and the problem was fixed. Now I can’t watch any YouTube videos. Is there something else I can do to use Flash Player again to avoid the shutdown problem?

Be advised though that Flash is used for other web stuff too. -

Firmware: .20.08 (is this the latest upgrade?)
Software: 2.02.06
O/S: Win XP, SP2
Windows Media Player
Checking device manage it is recognized as a portable device, however it is not detected in WMP . Changed my USB permissions in the registry, downgraded WMP to version 0 (rebooted when prompted), upgraded the application software (uninstalled version 2.02.06?and rebooted?) upgraded?to version 5.20.23 as well installed the plug in, version 5.0.38, which now gives me and error while installing " setup is unable to detect?a supported product on your system, click retry....." tried the different USB ports on the pc as well as changing the cables. Do you have the driver installed for the device?You can find that here.http://support.creative.com/download...ale=033&nPage= WMP is for MTP devices which the Xtra is not, There is a firmware update for the device HOWEVER updating to that firmware may just kill the player so I would not advise doing it since you have XP & you will be able to sync using MediaSource. Did you install the Creative Zen & Nomad Jukebox plug-in 5.00.22? Click on Show Details & read them before installing anything. -
My computer won't recognize my Zen Micro....
Just recently, my computer stopped recognizing my Zen Micro. The battery icon on the screen shows that it's attempting to charge, although it takes forever (it took all weekend to give me just 2 bars) to do this. Windows Media Player tells me there are no devices connected, so I'm unable to add my new songs to my player. I know it's not my computer or USB port, because my girlfriends Ipod is working fine. At first I thought it might be my battery, so I bought a?new one and I'm still having the same problem.
