Actually the OP is running Firefox 3.6.8, but has a user agent that is corrupted by an extension (NET_mmhpset)

Hello, I would like to use Firefox as my default browser, but the reason I still use the old Netscape Navigator is that that clicking on my bookmarks Firefox is not opening new tab. Does Firefox has this option (which I may not know) to click on my bookmark, link, etc. where to open a new tab without doing this right-click, it is aggravating?

Why are I being redirected everytime I click on a search link
When ever I click on a search link from my search results I am being redirected to some kind of ad or inappropriate website. This began this morning after Firefox installed it's updates

My Yahoo Calendar is not working on Firefox. Every time I click on the calendar link I am redirected back to the sign in page. It does work on other browsers though. this problem started in the past week.
Initially the problem was with all browsers, but afdter I did system restorem the problem went away with Google Chrome, and Internet Explorere, but not Firefox-> Update Firefox to the latest version 10

How to add new links to a page

In Sharepoint 2013 Server can you create:
A Link in the left navigtion bar or Quick Launch
when clicked it can open a new page and on that page there is an “Add New” type of
button.
Then on that page you can add as many links as the page will allow, each
of those links can contain a url

To add a new link on the left nav:
You can go to site settings> navigation> add a link under "current navigation".
For the second requirement:
You can create a "links" list and add it to that second page. This way you can have that "Add Links" option and add links.

After updating my fire fox to 3.6.3 I now cannot click on links into a new tab it will just open a blank tab, after hitting refresh, nothing happens. But when clicking bookmark link it will open in new tab as wanted but will not load unless I re-click it a second time. Clicking links normally will load page. Entering a URL like www.yahoo.com will not load either. To get to this page I had to a search engine like yahoo and type in fire fox website and it from there.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Creating a new "Link to a Document" opens Word document or upload document dialog - plus more!
The Link to Document content type seems to be corrupted at root. When I attempt to create a new Link, either Word opens with a blank document or the "Upload" document dialog opens. It's been changing as I investigate.
One things I've noticed is that the "Link to a Document" Content Type on the parent site collection now shows it's parent as Document. this explains why the Word document opens, but not why the Upload dialog does.
While writing this question, I decided to check further and it seems that the other document types, Audio, Video etc. all now have Document as the parent and are opening a blank Word document.
Has anyone seen this behavior? How do I fix this?
This is on SharePoint 2010.

Barry CohenWell, I spoke too soon. The process worked for all the custom content types, but the default Document type was still messed up. I probably should have fixed that one first, but...
Anyhow, the Document type had no template going to the Upload File dialog rather than the blank Word document it's supposed to go to. I followed the same procedure I'd followed for the other content types, checking what worked on another site and using that
template which in this case was a blank field:
So, I went opened Document, Document Content Type and went to advanced settings. The template field was empty, which matched the working site, so thinking that if I saved, it would match up with the working site. I saved the Document content type and when
after several minutes the save failed with an incredibly long list of locations where that were being perceived as "read only" plus several hidden content types that were listed as sealed. This snapshot shows a few of they many pages of content types. (I poorly
struck through confidential info):
Besides this gigantic error, which would require going to hundreds of locations on the site to change read access settings, which are, as far as I can tell actually not "read only" or are inaccessible, such as the hidden "System Page Layout' and so forth
which shouldn't be based upon the default document type anyway and therefor not fixable, I need to understand why this is happening and what to do about it. I don't want to spend the next two days going over all of these libaries and content types and ending
up back where I started with all the content types still screwed up. Afterall, I've spent about a day creating all these custom Content Types only to have the default Document content type loose its settings and corrupting everything and another day fixing
it and having it happen again.
This is a highly unacceptable behavior on the part of SharePoint and I would really like to fix this.
Help is sorely needed.

For the past few days now, whenever I click 'open new tab' in firefox it opens immediately at the url posted above. I did, unsuspectingly which is how they get you if you are not careful, installed MySearchDial but removed it completely through add/remove and start/search. I even have new windows opening up with content I do not like at all ... my home page is the same again, but I cannot seem to figure out how to get my new tab to open in a blank page again (btw at the bottom of this 'chrome' page there is an mysearch.com icon - I have googled 'how to remove this' with no success).
I do not use Chrome and do not have it listed as one of the operating programs on my computer. However, when I start/search "chrome" there is a complete list of files and folders that are found and I am unsure if I should delete them all since many of them appear to be directly associated with Firefox. Please - this is frustrating ... what can I do to get rid of this garbage on my computer?The "MySearchDial" app needs to be removed in 4 places.
1) Go to "add / remove programs" in your windows control panel select mysearchdial and remove it.
2) Open your Firefox browser then click the Firefox tab at the top left and select options. You will need to change the start page settings back to your preferred start page.
3) Again under the Firefox tab select "add-ons". In the add-ons manager you will need to remove mysearchdial from both "plugins" and "extensions"
4) In your search bar (top right of address bar" use the drop down menu and select "manage search engines". You can restore your preferred search engine and remove mysearchdial from the menu.
This should remove all the components of the nuisance hijacker and restore your browser back to your preferred settings. If you are comfortable with a more in depth removal I would also suggest going to your "programs" folder within the "C" drive of your machine and deleting the "MySearchDial" folder altogether. However, only do this AFTER you have uninstalled it from your system and if you are familiar with this type of removal. -
I have firefox as my default browser. Anytime I click on an email or search for something, instead of opening my default browser, firefox loads a new firefox page. It is a blank page just as if I had never had one. It has nothing on it except how you would start out before you set up your tabs and history etc. My default firefox is still there running in the background but I must click on it and manually put in the link I was trying to open.

At first I thought I had unknowingly gone to a new tab or window, but that's not it. I haven't ruled out that I have completely lost my mind, but I'm really hoping that's not the problem, although with win 7 that seems more and more likely all the time. It seems to happen at random. I tired holding down or right clicking the back button but there is nothing. The fact that the page I came from is gone from the history seems really strange.

When I open a new tab I get routed to a new browser window. I currently have about 10 browser windows across my lower screen and cannot change the tab setting to do anything different.

In Firefox options I have removed Gmail as the mail to application, and set it to Thunderbird. In Windows I have set Thunderbird to be default. Windows XP and latest update Thuderbird and Firefox.
You can middle-click a link to open the link in a new tab.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

To create popup message when user clicks on some quick link or area page
Hi Experts,
I have following requirement:
1) User will login into Portal.
2) User will be shown ESS / MSS tab pages
3) User will click on ESS Area Page --> Training Home or User will click on ESS Area Page --> Training Home --> Some Quick LInk
4) As soon as user clicks on these links, one pop up message should be displayed to the user. This should contain some information from the R/3
5) The above pop up message will be displayed if the user fulfils certain conditions (i.e. user has not completed training appraisal).
How we can achieve this?
