  • Iphoto won't load an gives me a message box that states that it is being updated, but there are no updates available

The new update for iphoto has locked my app up and I now can't access iphoto.  I've restarted and turned off and rebooted, but the software is still locked up with the error message that it is updating.

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

  • What is Photos doing when you quit and it gives you the message box "Closing the library..."?

It hangs for a long time like this.  Haven't yet force quit since I don't want it to damage the photo library.  Most recent - over 3 minutes to quit.

So latest shutdown of Photos took over 5 minutes.  Also, Photos doesn't recognize location data from iPhotos.
After finding out that Apple jettisoned the ability to manually add/edit location data and batch edits I'm going back to iPhoto.  They shouldn't have gotten rid of core functionality just to integrate photo management better with iCloud.  Hopefully, they will add those features back into the product but until then I will be using iPhoto.

  • I got a crash report that said the Flash plug in had crashed, but when the incident actually happened, the report said that "Silverlight" had crashed; how do I know where the problem is?

Sorry. The crash report actually said that Quick Time had crashed, not Flash, but at the time the crash actually happened, the message said that "Silverlight" had crashed. I just want to know how I can tell where the problem is so that I can try to fix it.

You can check for problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions and try this:
*check for updates for your graphics drive drivers<br>https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration
*disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

You can also check for issues with the HTML5 media player and disable Windows Media Foundation.
Try to set these prefs tp false on the <b>about:config</b> page:
    *media.windows-media-foundation.enabled = false
    *media.directshow.enabled = false
You can open the <b>about:config</b> page via the location/address bar.

  • Everytime I close firefox it loses my passwords and settings

everytime I close firefox it loses my passwords and settings, I went and took the tick out of the box so that when I clean my cache they should not be deleted. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled firefox, and it still will not remember passwords etc. I am running windows 7, plenty of ram and gigs to spare. This time I installed mozilla firefox yahoo!7 edition yahooauk-1.8 it says it is up to date

Go to Options -> Advanced -> General and turn off hardware acceleration.

  • Since upgrading to Firefox 27.0 some webpages will not load when I click on them. It gives me a message saying that Firefox can't find the server.

Since upgrading to Firefox 27.0 some webpages will not load when I click on them. It gives me a message saying that Firefox can't find the server. I have to click the link several time before it will load and sometimes when they do load it does not show the page right. It is like the HTML is messed up or something. I have tried everything I can think of. I started in safe mode, still did it., I removed add-ons, still did it., I reset Firefox and still did it., I completely uninstalled Firefox and re-installed Firefox and it still does it. I have tried Malware Bytes Anti-Malware scans and Avast boot-time scans and found no malware or viruses. I have found that those websites open the first time with no problems on my IE9 and they used to do so in Firefox 26.0. I'm at my wit's end. The website links are in my bookmarks and are used all the time so they are trusted and my avast is set to allow them. They range from news websites to gun websites and everything I have read says that Mozilla does not filter those unless something has changed recently.

Try this as a first step;<BR><BR>
Clear the Cache '''''Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"'''''<BR><BR>
    and<BR><BR>
    Remove Cookies '''''Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"'''''<BR><BR>
If there is still a problem,
'''''[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode Start Firefox in Safe Mode]'''''
    While you are in safe mode;
'''''Firefox Options > Advanced > General'''''. Look for and turn off '''Use Hardware Acceleration'''.

JackieMars71 I would recommend reviewing your installation log files to determine if there are any errors during the installation process.  You can find information on how to locate and interpret your installation log files at Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cc.html.  You are welcome to post any specific errors you discover to this discussion.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Do a clean (re)install and delete the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 9.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
