Everytime I open a new page in firefox a you tube video keeps opening and playing, how do I stop this?

I had clicked on a you tube video accidentally and now, everytime I open a new page the video comes up. How can I make this stop?

When I open a new page in Firefox, it goes through all current open pages, so that on closing the new page, it doesn't go back to to the one I opened the new page from, but to the last one I opened.

Every time I try to open a pdf file in firefox, it asks me to activate adobe acrobat. How do I stop this from happening?

I do activate acrobat, but it still comes up next time I need to open a pdf file. The same problem occurs when I use a quicktime file. I get the drop down to let me me allow every time but again , next time I want to use see or hear a quicktime file I get the same question. This is very annoying. I went into options and chose the file to use to open rather than having it ask me but that didn't solve the issue either.

You can check for problems with preferences.
Delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.

Do you mean that it is opening links in a new window? If you would rather have a new tab instead, you can set that in Options > Tabs. Some links are set up so that they will open in a new tab or window. I know of no way to make those open in the same tab, short of changing the code on the page.

This happens when someone drags the HD or a system folder icon to the iPhoto Window by accident. Solution: restore from back up created before this occurred.

Since moving to a new MAC Firefox asks permsion to use various font whilst loading - how can I stop this?

I moved over to a new Apple Mac using a time machine back up. Since then when ever I use Firefox it stops and asks if it's ok to use a font located on an external hardrive. How can I stop this?

Having done that-Face book and a few other sites came up as hyperlinks only with no illustrations, So- I deleted Firefox completely and downloaded a new copy. It downloads but won't open. I used an old copy-13.0 & same thing-does not open.

I am the same one who posted that question though the problem is exactly as described.. I watch the progress bar unpack the download and then it gives me the choice-run with previous settings or as administrator using a password.
Either way-I do not get a new browser. I do get a screen saying that my previous settings may be partially lost. I think a month ago I had also used CC cleaner. At that time-right clicking worked. Now it does not matter. Clicking on the Mozilla download gives me the progress bar but NO unpacked browser.

This is not a problem that has to do with searches. If I go to one of my regular web pages, say Yahoo!, the site will come up, then disappear when I'm redirected to some other page. Firefox keeps crashing upon starting, how do I stop this?

My PC crashed some days ago, after rebooting firefox was no longer working. It does start up, but doesn't allow me to do anything and after a few seconds it crashes and shows the error report, often this already happens the second I try to fire up firefox. I have tried rebooting my PC several times thinking this was the issue. After the problems continued I have uninstalled firefox, making sure no traces of firefox were left anywhere for old data to be around and it spiraling into the same error, I have tried installing an older version of firefox but it still crashes upon opening. It opens 2 tabs of which 1 will probably be the congratulations you have succesfully installed firefox and the other being the home page, however I can't confirm this as they don't load. The same goes for the TOR browser which works on a FF basis. I don't know what could fix the issue and hope for some answers that will solve the issue.

It looks like you may me having an issue from what I could intially see with an add-on or extension which is causing the crash. Restart FF in safe mode to see if this fixes the issue

Firefox Start now has autofill on the search. How can I stop this?

Firefox Start, Google search used to have no autofill for searches When I type in a search I do not want to see suggestions for my search. This is extremely distracting. This is the only reason I use Firefox Start. Google will not let you opt out of the autofill for searches. How can I make this stop in Firefox?!?

Each time I add a new contact an existing contact gets deleted. It only seems to let me have 20 contacts in my Phone before it starts deleting them.

I load firefox it checks the compatibility of the add-ons. They are compatible, I have confirmed this through an addon but it doesnt go away. I also always loads the "welcome to firefox page" that you usually get after an update. How do I stop this?

Click any firefox link and it loads a box first checking the compatibility. This can take anything from 20 seconds to 5 mins to complete. When that finishes it loads up the standard page you get up after you update firefox plus my homepage. It also freezes and lags ("not responding") briefly as well if I try to close it down and sometimes crashes.
This happens without fail every time that I load up firefox and some help would be much appreciated in resolving this.

I have an old MacBook laptop and it doesn't have enough memory for a new version of Firefox; why can't I keep the old version which works fine on this computer?

After updating tot the newest version of firefox, the browser asks me everytime if I want it to remember my passwords. I don't want that. How do I stop this?

In the left corner of the browser I see a key now and every time I log in to a site or e-mail a pop-up shows up, asking me if i want to remember the password. I don't want the browser to do this. It's quite annoying. How do I turn this feature permanently off.

I disabled Sync history with IE , yet every time i look at my history in Firefox it shows all the IE places i visited , how do i stop this , so i can go to only my Firefox history , but still have IE and Firefox synced

I use Firefox and Google Chrome for forums because they are faster than IE as IE(7) tends to hang a lot , so i have all my Favorites and everything synced with Firefox , as this is my main browser , but i do still use IE7 for some browsing , u went to Settings and unchecked the History , in the Sync section , but when i go to Firefox to view a forum topic i was looking at , recently , if i had gone to IE and visited any sites , then they show up in my history (for example Craigslist , i will look at several adds , and ALL of them are in my Firefox History) and push my Firefox history off the list so i have to go back to my favorites and start over , instead of being able to use my Firefox ONLY history so i can just go to those pages
Is there anyway to fix/bypass this but still have Cookies and Favorites and such synced ?? , without the IE History knocking all my Firefox history off the list ??

Only when i go to a different browser (like IE) after i clear it , then all that shows up is the pages i visited in IE , that is what bugs me , why is IE browsing history sowing up in Firefox ??
