Everytime I open Firefox after the last update, it runs an add on compatability check and opens two tabs. One tab is the firefox "latest update faq" page and the other tab is the set homepage. This is very annoying, how do i make it stop???

when it checks add on compatability every time, its starting to get a little annyoning. I like firefox but am about to uninstall it.

Unwanted ad? There is an ad at the bottom of the page that keeps prompting me to answer a question. this is very annoying and I want it out. How do I block it?

There is an ad at the bottom of my home page that is very annoying. I have tried everything to delete it but it won't go away. I can only assume that it is one of your sponsors. The ad keeps saying I am a winner and just answer a question. I am very upset that I am imposed on in this way every time I sign in. Please eliminate this from your home page as I am getting to the point of deleting firefos.

The easiest way is to use the Status-4-Evar add-on. With it you can choose to not display any of the status messages, or display them in the add-ons bar or location bar instead.

I keep getting a box saying 'this URL is invalid and cannot be loaded' sometimes the page loads at other times I'm blocked. It's very annoying

It happens with many sites on a daily basis and is so annoying that I'm considering going back to Explorer. Sometimes the site appears and so does the box (sometimes with multiple boxes and I must delete each one before I can continue. On other occasions I'm blocked and cannot open the page

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

Ive had my iphone 4s since 10th april and on three seperate occassions its switched itself off completely (whilst having battery) it then wont work for around 2 days, this is very annoying and I dont know what to do as its been out for around 12hours now

I don't know why my phone keeps switching itself off, I've never dropped it, had water damage nor any other damage to it. Ive had it for around 5 months or so now and it just likes to switch itself off for around 30-40 hours then work again as though nothing happened. Although this is great as it will eventually work its very frustrating not knowing if it will switch on again.. at the minute my phone hasnt worked for about 10-12 hours. I went in to the apple shop and they said they couldnt see me for over a week as they were fully booked, I understand that theyre busy but surely they can't expect me to go without a phone/alarm/email for that time when I am paying for it. Standard troubleshooting...
1. Try a Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the slider. Slide to power off. Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the Apple logo.
2. Try a Reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider if it comes up. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
3. Remove apps from Recently Used list...
- From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
- Swipe up on the app preview card
- Press the home button when done.
4. If still a problem restore with your backup.
5. If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
6. If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.

Firefox 4.01 keeps dimming the screen after a few secnds unless you keep moving the mouse.This is very annoying. It doesn't do it on Explorer or while in Windows so it is only happening ince I upgraded to 4.01

Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.

I had the same problem with some apps and printer setup software. SInce Rosetta has been discontinued on Lion my only solution was to restore to 10.6 since the manufacturers either have not yet or will not release updated apps. In this case you have to determine how important those old PPC apps are to keep around and if there alternitives that are available to replace the functionality. I would expect a broadband provider to update thier apps if it is something that is required to connect.

I don't think your mac is setting up. It's stuck.
I would:
hold the power button until it shuts down
unplug all peripherals
do a safe boot (restart and hold down the shift key until you see the apple logo).
If it starts up in a safe boot, then you can try restarting with a normal boot.
If it does not start with a normal boot, then you probably have some incompatible third party software. Likely culprits are:
MacKeeper
CleanMyMac
third-party antivirus software
any other "cleaning" or "optimizing" or similar third party "utilities".
A good place to start would be to uninstall any of those (while in safe mode) and then restart.

When I launch Firefox it loads the same set of tabs twice or three times. How do I make it stop?

Firefox launches and loads the 5 or 6 tabs I usually keep. Then it load them again, along with other tabs I closed long ago. And sometimes it loads them all again, so there is a string of 18 or 2o tabs when all I want is the regular 5 or 6 I usually visit.

Bridge from CS3 won't open and just sits on the task bar. If I hover over it, I can see a small view of the last screen I was working on. It won't open up full screen, what should I do. I've closed it and restarted my computer numerous times with no luck.
