Everytime I press a bookmark, it opens in same tab. I would like each bookmark to open in a new tab.

When opening bookmarks,,they open in same tab.
How can I get each bookmark or link to open in new tab.
I have tried different settings in options/tabs and nothing chances.

You can middle-click a bookmarks to open the bookmark in a new tab just like you can with other links.

I would like each new web site or link to open in a new tag as default rather than right click and 'open in new tab'. is this possible please?

No built-in function to '''''automatically''''' do that, but you can:
*right-click link or bookmark and choose Open in New Tab
*middle-click link or bookmark (middle-click = press the mouse scroll wheel
    *CTRL+left click link or bookmark
NOTE: Options => Tabs => 'open new windows in a new tab' works only '''''when coding on a web page''''' would otherwise open a link in a new window.

Hi. I am working on a Mac OSX 10.10.2 Yosemite. I'm working remotely with a woman who is using indesign CS8.2 I'm still on CS6.8 and can't open her files. I would like to upgrade to the latest version and I'd also like to know why these upgrades are not automatic as i pay a monthly subscription to the cloud. Thanks.

A Cloud subscription SHOULD always show you the most recent updates, so you may then choose to do the install

  • I can't stop the Firefox Start page from opening - in addition to my default page - each time I open Firefox

    # Question
I can't stop the Firefox Start page from opening - in addition to my default page - each time I open Firefox

Is this the Firefox branded Google page? If it is, Firefox can store multiple home pages and you may have 2 home pages set. Follow the instructions to set a single home page in this link - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/How+to+set+the+home+page
If it is the Firefox has just updated page that keeps on appearing, there may be a different problem, for details on fixing that see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Firefox+has+just+updated+tab+shows+each+time+you+start+Firefox

Select (highlight) the file in Finder and then use the Finder File menu Get Info (or Command I) and in the Open With section of the Get Info choose the application you want to open the file. Another method is to right-click the file in Finder.

  • My desk top shortcuts to favorite web sites only open in a blank page. I have to then reload in a new tab from the toolbar or a bookmark. It is annoying but not critical.

I have shortcuts on my desktop for yahoo mail and a few other sites. I used to be able to go directly to them. Now it opens in a blank page and I have to load the site in a new tab from the toolbar shortcuts or a bookmark. Also my saved passwords no longer exist. It all happened after a firefox upgrade to my yahoo tool bar.

You would get better response from the iTunes community forum.

  • If I would like to have all opened tabs in my browser stop loading a webpage is their a shortcut key that will allow this?

If I open too many Bookmarked pages into tabs my browser will hang and then sometimes crash or close unexpectedly.
If I bring up task manager or use the Alt + Tab I can navigate to the window and right-click and choose restore to allow me to see the window again. This needs to be done if I load more than 10 pages at once. Is there a way to choose to prevent loading of all opened tabs and then choose which tabs I'm currently working with to load the webpage? I would like to know how to use a shortcut key on my keyboard to select all tabs as ctrl + A does not work and then escape or another key tells to stop all pages from loading in each tab as with all the ads, gifs, videos, and internet spam keeps growing it is too much of a strain to have multiple webpages opened in tabs on the browser.
I use Win XP SP2 and I am eagerly waiting a solution as it has been an issue with even previous versions of Firefox however IE could only have about 3 tabs opened and then would crash that is why I stick with Firefox as my browser of choice.

  • I would like all links to open in the active tab, unless I command-click on the link.

I've searched for answers to this question, and I was able to adjust the values for preferences in about:config so that all links open in the active tab, but after doing so I am unable to command-click to open a link in a new tab. Is there any way to change certain preferences so that command-clicking will override the browser.link.open_newwindow preferences? Or maybe there's some other way around this?
This might seem like an odd request, but several sites I use (Tumblr especially) open nearly all links in a new tab by default, and it quickly gets out of hand. A "same-tab unless command-click" configuration would allow me to control where every link opens. Also, I would still like all links from external applications to load in a new tab.
    I'm using Firefox 32.0 on Mac OS X 10.9.4.
    Thanks

Your request sounds similar to this old thread, except that you want a different setting for the third preference: [https://support.mozilla.org/questions/985943 How do I get when I click on a link it will not open in new tab? I want to open in the same tab where I clicked on that click.]
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste <strong>about:config</strong> and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the filter box, type or paste <strong>link.o</strong> and pause while the list is filtered.
    (3) Double click these to modify the values as desired:
    <strong>(A) browser.link.open_newwindow</strong>
3 = divert new window to a new tab (<u>default</u>) (checked*)
2 = allow link to open a new window (unchecked*)
'''1 = force new window into same tab'''
<strong>*</strong> First checkbox in Options &gt; Tabs
<strong>(B) browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction</strong> - for links in Firefox tabs
'''0 = apply the setting under (A) to ALL new windows (even script windows)'''
2 = apply the setting under (A) to normal windows, but NOT to script windows with features (<u>default</u>)
1 = override the setting under (A) and always use new windows
<strong>(C) browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external</strong> - for links in other programs
-1 = apply the setting under (A) to external links (<u>default</u>)
'''3 = open external links in a <u>new tab</u> in the last active window'''
    2 = open external links in a <u>new window</u>
1 = open external links in the <u>last active tab</u> replacing the current page
    Does that combination work?

  • Hi, after about half an hour I can't select any open tabs or see new tabs. When I reboot and restore previous session the new tabs appear.

Existing tabs can't be activated. I have no problem with restoring a previous session or opening previous tabs, but although new tabs are created - because I see them when I restart Firefox - they are invisible until I restart. Also, some, but not all of the menu options are not accessible until I restart.
    Any advice would be appreciated,
    Cheers,
    Ian

  • I installed the latest version of Firefox and it opens to google. I would like to use my old Sbcyahoo home page as the default page. How do I change

I installed the latest version of Firefox. The home page is now a google search box. I would like to use my old sbcyahoo desktop with its icons. I am unable to make the change.

Oops. I could have been more clear, sorry.
TOOLS > OPTIONS > GENERAL tab
Under Start-up at the top of GENERAL, you have an option to type in the url or use the tabs to set your homepage to the current page.
Go to your chosen site, open OPTIONS and click 'Use current page.'
Sorry for the shorthand version previously. I blame the cat.

  • When I open a saved document in pages, then close it right away without making any changes, why does it ask if I would like to save the page or all new info will be lost?

I have a few saved documents and when I open them to view them quick, sometimes when I close it, I will get asked if I would like to save the document or all my new info will be lost. I didnt change anything so Im not sure why it asks me that. When I open the document again, all the info is there and nothing is different. Thanks

Unless they were Word documents, Pages has done nothing really, but it is updating date information in the file.
It is annoying but just ignore it and don't save.

  • I would like the window that opens with a new tab to be my home page. Instead it's YAHOO and I don't like it. How do I fix this so new tab is homepage?

When I Ctrl+t to get a new tab it opens with YAHOO as the page. I would like it to open my HOMEPAGE.

You can look at one of these extensions:
    * NewTabURL : https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/2221
    * New Tab Homepage : https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/777
You may need to check other extensions if they are overriding the page that opens in a new tab.
