Everytime I try to open firefox i keep getting this message "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your computer"

i have restarted my computer and i have uninstalled firefox and re-installed it but i still get the same message i have also tried safe mode and it still has not worked, and i have recently gotten rid of a trojan virus
