Everytime I try to print using Adobe Standard 8, I get a double image on everything except page 1

From page 2 on, it has the basic shape and spacing of the pages, but all the text comes out with garbage letters and overstrikes.
I would attach an example or paste a snip, but this window won't accept it.
However, when I block copied the garbage text from the PDF and pasted it below, it came out in English with some weird spacing in the middle of words, but I could read it. It's like the second page is using a different alphabet for printing.
This is not new, but when I've needed to get a PDF of what is on screen, I've had to use MS Internet Explorer or Google Chrome. I've used the same Adobe 8 for years to create PDFs from Firefox, and it worked up until about a year ago. It still works fine to create PDFs from everything else, so I think the problem is something that changed in Firefox with one of the updates, or I hit something I didn't intend to hit that made this change in my set up.

It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. If that doesn't help, have you checked to see if it's a problem with your printer's drivers? Installing a different printer and trying that one should shed some light on that. It doesn't need to be an actual physical paper printer, a PDF printer, for example, will do perfectly.
