Everytime I turn on my MacBook, is required my keychains password.

Everyitme I turn on my MacBook, is required my keychains password, saying "iCloud.helper wants to use information". It is a really annoying problem. I am also having trouble while activating the iCloud Keychains, after the ID password it says that "The keychains were not activated due to a connection problem with iCloud". My email is not working too, it insists on requiring my password every second. This happened after the latest software update OS X Mavericks. What shoul I do? I am a new MacBook user.

  • How to stop Firefox from launching everytime I turn on my MacBook?

    Hi Everyone,
Everytime I turn on my MacBook, Firefox launches. It really bugs me, and I tried to stop it, but couldn't find how, either in system preferences or in the firefox menus.
Can someone please help and tell me how to stop it from happening?
    Thanks already,
    Quentin

This usually happens because you've added the application to the Login Items list in the Accounts preferences. Open Accounts preference, click on the Login Items tab, locate the Firefox entry, select it then click on the "-" button to delete it.

i used to turn on wifi on my ipod touch  and it would automatically connect but not i turn it on and i have to put in a password every time

    - Try resetting the iPod. Nothing is lost:
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router.
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Netwok Settings

System Preferences > Network > WiFi
To give a network the highest priority, drag the name of the network to the top of the list. This is the network your computer will attempt to join first.

After setting up an "Exchange" mail account on my device, iPad/iPhone, it requires a new passcode to be set before data will be downloaded. I did this on the iPad and now have to enter that passcode everytime I turn it on. How do I avoid needing to enter a passcode on my iPhone everytime I turn it on?

The passcode is a requirement set by the administrator of the Exchange server you are connecting to.
It is purely for security purposes.
If you do not want the passcode, you must remove the Exchange account. There is no way around it.

  • How can I shut off the automatic login when I turn on my MacBook Pro?

Ever since I updated to Yosemite I have been forced to enter my password whenever I turn on my MacBook Pro. I went to System Preferences/Users & Groups and see that the automatic login option is set to off, but it is shaded and I can't use the dropdown menu, even though I've unlocked it.
Is this a common issue? Am I just going to have to get used to signing in every time? I'm the only one who uses it, and it's a little annoying.
I've tried searching for help in the discussions and also on google, but I'm not finding any answers.
    Help, please!

Did you turn on FileVault when you upgraded to Yosemite? If it is on then a login password is required (sort of obviously). You can tell whether it is on by going to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Security & Privacy and click FileVault at the top and see if the words "Turn off FileVault" are in the button. I'm the only one who uses my Mac also, but the remote possibility of it being stolen makes it worth it to me to have FileVault turned on and a password required. I had a similar issue last week from a customer.
It seems that MS-Office fiddle a lot in the preferences and plist's during installation.
Performing a permission repair (Disk Utility) does the trick in that case.

since upgrading to OS lion, my mac book pro (2010 August) keeps freezing (non responsive, requires restart) when i turn on my mac and the system is trying to open apple mail. while apple mail is attempting to collect new mail, the macbook pro freezes. this happens every 2nd time i try to start up my computer. this only started happening after i upgraded to OS lion. please let me know what I need to do to fix this. being forced to restart every 2nd time i turn on my macbook pro has been very frustrating. not sure if apple mail is also the cause of my macbook pro for being very slow during start-up (on the occasion the computer doesn't freeze).

I am having similar 'freezing' problems with many programs (Mail, Safari, iTunes, etc.). I have done a clean install of Lion instead of an upgrade when it came out. Perhaps something went wrong with my install? I'm thinking about wiping and reinstalling.

  • Brightness setting changes everytime I turn on my powerbook.

Everytime I turn on my powerbook the brightness setting is at a different level. Sometimes it is all the to the dimmest setting and I can't even locate my pointer because my screen is so dark. Is there a way to keep the brightness setting from changes levels?

I have a brand new macbook that is having this problem, and I already have the display setting with the brightness slider all the way to the right, so that's not the problem. This machine is a replacement for an early macbook that went through too many repairs and finally got replaced. I never had this problem on the old one, so I'm baffled. I have installed all updates and I have my settings all the same as on the old machine, so I can't figure out why it's behaving this way. It doesn't happen every time the machine sleeps or restarts, but sometimes when I come back to the machine, I find the brightness is turned all the way down and I have to turn it back up.

  • Cant turn off my macbook

    Help required :-)
I cant seem to turn off my macbook and restart it.
I have a problem with macmail so have loaded thunerbird while i figure it out and today i have had a pop up which says that I cant load mail - BUT that little multi coloured sphere is spinning round (for hours now). I have tried to turn off and restart but it just wont do it.
Any tips before I just take out the power source and let the battery run dry??
    Thanks

It certainly sounds like it's hung up.
If you're just looking to power-cycle it, there are several options beyond waiting for the battery to drain. The easiest is to press and hold the power button for about 5 seconds. This will shut down the machine, then you can reboot and try again.

  • Macbook pro requiring me to unlock my keychain every time i log on

Hi. My macbook is now, for the past 3 days, requiring me to type in my keychain password everytime i log on. I have followed the directions on the help screen but it continues. Also, I never did make any changes for this prompt to start appearing to begin with. Any ideas?

By default Keychain is set to lock after 5 minutes of in activity.
If you go into the utilities folder, open Keychain Access – Edit – Change Setting for Keychain login. Uncheck “Lock after 5 minutes of inactivity” then save.
    Thanks should fix your problem.

When I get to the login page on my macbook, I type in my password and it starts to load, but then the screen turns blue and it goes back to the login.
Iv tryed this numerious times still keeps going back to pasword. Can not get any further. Tried restart holding shift key.. still nothing. What do i do?

    Thank you for your help.
I couldnt get to the hard drive/ desktop. Soft login not even working. So i could not do any of that.
In the end i took it to Apple and its actually the hard drive on its way out. A common issue with that series of Mac. Funny seeing i dont use this mac much. However being 2.5 years old and out of warrently, Apple have recognise this issue with this series/ Model and installing a new hard drive at no cost.
Very luck and greatful. And not feeling so dumb that it was something i did or could troubleshoot myself.
Hope this helps others that it just might be your hard drive failing.

    Hi r,
Make sure you close iTunes before shutdown.  And you're quite welcome.
