Everytime my Apple TV 2 enters into sleeping mode it requires my WIFI network password again upon reconnection. This is new, how can I set the system to remember the password?

Open Mail preferences, click on the Accounts icon in the toolbar then select your mail account, click on the Mailbox Behaviours tab on the right. Set the dropdown menu at the bottom for the Never option.
However, you cannot change the default options set for a newly created account.

  • I am running OSX Lion 10.7.4 and the computer no longer will go into sleep mode when I close the cover What happened with this option?

I am running OSX Lion 10.78.4 and the computer will no longer go into sleep mode when I close the cover. In system preferences I can no longer find the option that allows for this energy saving feature. What happened to this option and why is this no longer happening with the latest version of Lion?

No external monitors or devices attached. When you mention that this function only works when devices are attached that is true when you set up your preferences that way. Up until my upgrade to Lion the computer would always go into sleep mode when I closed the lid. There also used to be an option to check in system preferences that allowed you to choose this option. My question for the discussion is what happened to that option and how do you get the computer to sleep or at least the display to sleep when you close the lid as we have been able to do in the past. Thanks.

@[email protected], I'm surprised that page worked in earlier versions of Firefox. It uses a script to click on links, which has not worked for a long time as far as I know.
There are at least two add-ons that can take actions on multiple links. I haven't tested either of them, but you could check them out:

  • Even with MAC addresses entered into Airport Express, my devices keep asking for router password.  Basically, MAC filtering on my AirPort Express is not working

I just got a new laptop form work and wanted to add it to my home network.  Even though I put in the MAC address, it continue to ask me to put in the router password.  Not only that, it started to do that with my other devices within my home network.

With Airport Express setup being relatively quick and easy, I would put the work laptop aside while you reestablish your home network and ensure that your non-work devices operate without having to re-enter Router Passwords. Once that is done, I would turn the work laptop on and see if it discovers the home network.  Once you have entered the network password once, look for an option to remember the network.  It may be defaulting to your work network on each re-connect.

  • How to sync the album and track info that I entered into a CD using iTunes with the actual disc?

    Hello,
I recently recorded some cover songs, and I imported them into iTunes. So, after entering the track info (track names and album art) into each track using "Get Info", I burned them to a CD. I was completely shocked that the track info and album artwork did not get inputted onto the CD. So, I entered the track info, but could not add the album artwork.
How to add the album artwork is not as important a question. But it's one of my 2.75 questions.
My other issue is that the info that I put on the CD using iTunes is only visible within iTunes. Therefore, I cannot get the track names elsewhere.
    My 2.5 questions are:
    1) How do I get the track and album info to display in Windows Explorer and Windows Media Player (and the touchscreen CD Player in the car)?
    2) How do I add digital album artwork to the CD (so that it shows on the touchscreen CD Player in the car - if iPods have the artwork and it shows on the car's screen, a CD should be able to show the artwork on the car's screen, when talking about limitations of the car)
2.5) How do I make that artwork display across everywhere I plug that disc into?
2.75) How do I ensure that when others import my CD, my artwork, track names, and album name also import from the CD?
I have already burnt the CD, so I would prefer a way to tweak the properties of the already burnt CD rather than burning a whole new disc.
    Thank you!
    -Royce

    1) Metadata visibility in Windows Explorer and/or Windows Media Player depends on OS version and file type. The mp3 format has the widest support. As for the touchscreen CD Player in your car who can say? If it can play data discs the results will be better than with audio CD. If it can display CD text then this option should be selected when creating an audio CD.
    2) Artwork cannot be attached to the tracks on an audio CD. If your car system supports it all then it will be with data discs. Check the specifications of the system for the media types it can support on a data disc.
2.5) Simply ensure the artwork is embedded in the tag.
I have two scripts that can help with this, CreateFolderArt and EmbedFolderArt.
The scripts have a slightly different purpose.
CreateFolderArt ensures that every album folder ends up with a Folder.jpg image which is the art that iTunes already knows about. Side effects are that if artwork has been updated in iTunes the folder art should be updated also, and if any track from the album doesn't have embedded artwork it gets embedded.
EmbedFolderArt was actually written for someone who already had various artwork images stored in the folders and wanted them added to their tracks, but not if iTunes had already downloaded a better quality image.
2.75) Again, use a data disc format. Note that you should not be giving away copies of copyrighted material.
Audio CDs are finalized, you cannot change any properties of them unless they are on rewritable media in which case you can erase the whole disc and start over.

  • Everytime I hit enter Pages Spaces out my paragraph from the Body!

What gives? I took it to the Apple Store, they had no clue. Any suggestions before I do a complete reinstall?
Also, if I had typed all of this in Pages it would have gone down a line as I was typing. It's like some gremlin is hitting the enter key everytime I finishe a word or start typing. At least I'm able to make whole sentences, I just have pages and pages of space until I can go back and hit backspace to delete it.
    Really annoying.
Hope my description of the problem was clear.
    Thanks for any help.
    C.

    Hello Mac
If i understand your porblem correctly it has to do with the text block format capabilites of pages. Turn on your Format Menu-bar, in the middle left of the menu there are 4 buttons with different text format posibillities. Turn the block text format off, and your problem should be solved.
    hope this is helpful

windows computer hard drive failed; data lost.  have new blank hard drive.  Can I load ipod music and photos back onto new hard drive?

    Hi Perilman,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! I understand that all of your iTunes media is on an external hard drive and you would like to move that media onto your new Windows computer hard drive. The following article has step by step instructions for this specifically. Part 5 in the External drive section is probably what is going to be most relevant to you.
iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer

Part 5: Copy music to your new computer

I saw a post about this early on the forum but the guy decided to just get a new computer so a solution was never thought of. my problem is whenever my computer is given intense task (mostly playing video off webpages) the computer will enter into sleep mode. It has done this countless times and has come to the point where its almost unbearable to use. I did notice that the back of the computer feels pretty out everytime this happens so im wondering if I have a broken fan. I have checked my logs and this is what it reads everytime the error occurs:

  • Automatic Sleep modus

Hello. Well I have my iMac G4 now for 3 or 4 years and I'd never had this problem, but since I have 10.4.3 it started. Well, the automatical Sleep Modus is activated to save energy. But the problem is, that the screensaver apperars after 5 minutes, like normal, but after the time i want the sleep modus, the computer does not go into sleep modus. I hope someone can help me, because the preferences are fixed well and normally the iMac has to sleep. But it doesn't work anymore. Is it the system or the computer it-selfs?

I did install: new intel chipset drivers, but the problem = still there
I tried to install de ATI AMD drivers, but this will not update the display driver version.

  • IBook don't go into sleep after 10.4.7 update.

    Hello,
today i've installed the 10.4.7 update. After the installation my iBook doesn't go into sleep. When I close the Notebook the white indicator blinking once and the iBook wake up. If I try to activate the sleep mode from apple menu it is the same problem.
I have disconnected all USB devices and also the modem, network and deactivate the airport connection. I've also deactivated the wake up on LAN- and modem ring in the System Preferences. But with no effect.
Next I have checked the process list but there is no application witch is abnormally.
I have talked with a friend an he says that he have the same problem and also with the USB connection after the update. He has an PowerMac G4.
We have compared the sys-log files and we have the same abnormally entries after the 10.4.7 update.
    Log-file:

You can see that the system go into Sleep and Wake up at the same second. That is not normal I think. And also the" iBookG4 kernel[0]: Sound assertion...".
The line: "...iBookG4 kernel[0]: jnl: close: flushing..." I not know what this is? There are much of them in the log after the update.
An iBook with no standby function is not acceptable for me. Is there any possibility to downgrade the System to 10.4.6?
Please help me in this reason.

  • Slow going INTO sleep

Closing the lid on my macbook (C2D), it usually takes about 30 seconds to go into sleep mode. waking up from it is fine. This is a fresh install of Leopard also.
Any way i can see why it is taking so long (used to be quicker on Tiger)? Is there a log i can check out to see what Leopard is having troubles with?

  • Shouldn't my macbook go into sleep mode if it runs out of battery?

Isn't there a sleep mode feature for when the battery runs out?
I just picked up a new battery, and I'm running it down for calibration purposes... When it ran out the computer just died and required a hard restart/boot.
I thought there was a feature that put the system into sleep/hibernation mode just before the battery died.
    no?
