Evilwm unable to resize windows

Hi all.  I just recently switched to evilwm.  To my knowledge <ALT> + Right Click should allow me to resize windows... but i am unable to do so.  I have also tried to right click on the border,  nothing. so yeah, does anyone have any suggestions?  is there a file where i can modify these key bindings?  thx!

In cwm (which is similar to evilwm) it’s alt + middle click. I see the wiki says alt + Button2, which may mean the same thing.
As for editing keybindings, cwm has a config file, but near as I can tell evilwm does not and is not reconfigurable.

  • Unable to resize window to fit screen

I am having an issue in which some of the windows from a variety of applications no longer fits on my screen, and I am unable to resize the window because the handle for the window (that I would normally click on and drag to resize) is located in an area of the screen that is not currently visible...
Specifically, when using firefox, if I try to add a new bookmark, the add bookmark window appears and the bottom of the window is off the bottom of the screen (even with the top of that window appearing all the way at the top of the screen. Another instance occurs when using a Photoshop plugin called noiseware, in which the top and bottom of the plugin window appear off the screen, thereby making it impossible to access certain features and functions of the plugin...
I have tried trashing the preferences for each application and for the plugin in hopes that that would help, but it does not...I have also attempted the change the resolution of my monitor, but its alread as large as possible...
Does anyone have any suggestions as to ways in which I can go about resolving this issue? Any help would be sincerly appreciated. Thanks!

  • I am trying to resize disk space on parallels 6 for windows XP under configure Hardrive and I get the error resizing failed unable to resize last volume the file system of this volume might be damaged or not supported?  I am on a Mac using Parallels 6

I have been trying to increase my disk space for windows xp on my Imac and I am running parallels 6.  before opening windows I go into configure in parallels and open the hard drive and try to move the allotted disk space from 32 gig to 64 or any other increased gig and then apply and I get the error message: resizing failed unable to resize last volume.  The file system of this volume might be damaged or not supported.  How do I increase the size??  I just also did a disk repair utility with Apple on the Apple side of my IMAC.  Please Help!!   I had uninstalled SQL server on the windows side and needed to uncompress files to install this and then I ran short on disk space.

This sounds to me that your Parallels XP file system is corrupted and not the OSX file system.
Have you checked the XP file system while running the Parallels XP yet ?
However, it would be better to ask such question in the Parallels Forum http://forum.parallels.com/

  • HT4407 Hey, I am unable to install windows 7 using 'bootcamp 5.0' . I have already partitioned the drive as (mac Os Extended Journaled) and yet it seems bootcamp won't acknowledge this?

Hey, I am unable to install windows 7 using 'bootcamp 5.0' . I have already partitioned the drive as (mac Os Extended Journaled) and yet it seems bootcamp won't acknowledge this?
My first thoughts were that 'bootcamp' was out of date...needed an upgrade to register windows 7. Since then I am once again met with the same problem... how can it not see the I have already have a paritioned drived ready to be used for installition, is there a way to fix this problem? I don't really want to pay out for 'i-parition' only to merge my 2 drives back into one and start again from scratch =/. Seems silly to do so...what are my options?
Regards Swishi...p.s If anyone can help me...it'll make my day :3.

    ONE PARTITION.
You don't need to buy anything but you should have backups.
you can delete #2 you created. Then resize to full drive.
    There are already

    Recovery
and there needs to be Windows which cannot be higher ID

  • Unable to resize a partition.

    Hello everyone
I `ve recently created a new partition on my MacBook Pro running  OS X 10.9.4, and that was for install the public Beta of Yosemite, then i decided to delete that partition with Utility disks, then that space now appear gray, but the problem is when i tried to resized the partition dragging the lower right conner above, and then i clic "apply", nothing pass, So i was unable to resized the partition.
Could someone please help me .
here is a picture of UD.

As I suggested on your first post of this topic:
Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion Using Internet Recovery
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
After DU loads select your newly installed hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
After you have installed OS X you can use Boot Camp Assistant to create a new Boot Camp partition for Windows. Do not attempt to use Disk Utility or Boot Camp Assistant to create a third partition. You can have at most two partitions: OS X and Windows. You created a third partition which you then removed, and that is why this problem arose.

  • "Unable to capture window image"

if I select a window to be screenshot, I get this error:
Your screen shot can’t be saved.
    Unable to capture window image.
    (shortcut: cmd-shift-4 and then space)
It seems to be new in Lion. Never had that problem before. And regular screenshots seem to work fine (cmd-shift-3).
Thanks for any help! ~ Kai

    Thanks Davide ...
I created com.apple.screencapture.plist with Terminal and restarted the Mac.
The first couple of window screenshots worked on a Chrome browser window (command-shift-4, then space bar). But it did not work on other app's windows (Finder, Carousel).
Then I switched back to Chrome and I didn't work there too anymore. Crazy thing is that now it works on Finder windows. Very very strange.
All this is only true for capturing a whole window content (command-shift-4, then space bar)

  • Unable to open windows using boot camp.  Get message "The bless tool was unable to set the current boot disk."  Any thoughts, Thank you.

Unable to open windows using boot camp.  Get message "The bless tool was unable to set the current boot disk."   I am using an Imac , Lion operating system, and Windows 7.  It worked a few days ago.  Any thoughts, Thank you.

Note that nowhere in the Boot Camp instructions does it tell you to use Disk Utility to format the Windows partition. The Boot Camp Assistant program creates the partition & sets the +partition scheme info+ of the disk as appropriate for the Windows installer but the Windows installer itself is responsible for formatting the new partition with the appropriate +file system scheme+ (NTFS for Windows 7).
If you follow the instructions in the Boot Camp Installation & Setup Guide to the letter you should have no problems installing Windows.

  • How do i drag icons and how do i resize windows

this is my first laptop having been used to emacs before. I can't figure out how to drag items or resize windows when not using a mouse and can't find such simple instructions in the manual.
    thanks.

In addition to the method described by Jim, you can set options in the Keyboard & Mouse preference panel (in System Preferences) that allow you to get mouse clicks and click lock using the trackpad. Check out those options, many people find they make the trackpad a lot more useful.

  • Is there a way to open an image in a floating, resizable window?

In previous versions of PDE I could open an image (or for that matter, multiple images) as floating, resizable windows.  Now, images seem anchored.  How can I detact them from the big editing screen, such that I can move them around the computer screen as I could in the past?
    Thanks,
    Haly2k1

Open Editor and click Edit à Preferences à General
Then check the box “Allow Floating Documents in Full Edit Mode”

  • Resizing Windows Partition - No Longer Booting

Whenever I attempt to setup a Windows/Linux Dual boot I get hit with this same dilemma. I start off with a NTFS format partition with Windows XP on it. As soon as I resize the partition, it no longer boots. Even before installing linux/grub. I defragmented before attempting this, and I took every precaution. In the end, I'm never able to boot my Windows OS. I can boot Linux from the Grub menu, and I can still access my Windows files.
As of now I've reformatted back to Windows. I would just like to know what went wrong because I want to attempt another install later on.

    Ward,
windows is weird in that it notes somewhere the block numbers where the system is installed, and when that moves
    it does not boot anymore.
Now you are making life more complicated then necessary: if you still have windows resized and installed (and not booting),
you can use the windows install cd and go into repair mode. It will fix the resized windows.
If you are starting from scratch, before installing windows, start a Linux live CD, do not install it, start the program
"gparted" and partition your disk as you want it. Then install windows in one of the partitions.
Instead of the Linux live CD you can also use a Gparted  stand alone CD:
    http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php
    Hope it helps.
